Veterinary Emergency Group Introduce
For pet owners in Redmond, Washington, and the surrounding areas, the Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) located at 15830 Redmond Way serves as a dedicated "Pet Hospital" specializing in emergency and urgent veterinary care. Operating under the platform category of a pet hospital, VEG focuses on providing immediate medical attention to pets in critical situations. This introduction aims to detail the environment, services, features, and any discernible aspects of VEG based on available customer feedback, offering valuable insights for local pet owners who may face unexpected pet health emergencies.
Based on customer reviews, the environment at Veterinary Emergency Group in Redmond appears to be uniquely designed with the comfort and needs of both pets and their owners in mind during stressful emergency situations. One of the standout features mentioned is the "open viewing to their pet in the emergency room." This innovative approach allows pet owners to stay connected and visually monitor their beloved animals while they are receiving critical care. This transparency can provide significant reassurance and alleviate some of the anxiety associated with emergency veterinary visits. Coupled with this accessibility is the provision of a "private waiting room for the owner," which demonstrates a thoughtful consideration for the emotional well-being of pet parents who may be experiencing distress during these times. This combination of accessibility and privacy in a high-stakes environment earns VEG "high marks" according to one reviewer.
The primary service offered by Veterinary Emergency Group is immediate emergency veterinary care. This encompasses the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of urgent medical conditions that require prompt attention. As an emergency facility, VEG is equipped to handle situations such as sudden illnesses, accidental injuries, toxic ingestions, breathing difficulties, severe pain, and other life-threatening conditions that cannot wait for a regular veterinary appointment. The focus is on rapid assessment, stabilization, and treatment to give pets the best possible chance of recovery.
One customer's experience highlights the efficiency and speed of treatment at VEG. When their cat ingested a dryer sheet, the reviewer credited VEG's "speed or treatment" for making the cat's survival possible, noting that the pet "was treated as soon as we walked in the door." This immediate response is crucial in emergency situations and underscores VEG's commitment to timely intervention. The review suggests that the hospital is well-prepared to handle urgent cases without delay.
A significant feature of Veterinary Emergency Group, as evidenced by the customer feedback, is the professionalism and compassion of its staff. Both reviewers specifically mentioned the positive interactions they had with the employees. One described the staff as "helpful to pet owners" in addition to their attentiveness to the animals. The other noted that "all of the employees who we interacted with were kind and professional." In emergency situations, the demeanor of the veterinary team can greatly impact a pet owner's experience, and the positive comments suggest that VEG prioritizes both the medical care of the animals and the emotional support of their human companions.
While the reviews do not delve into the specific medical equipment or advanced services available at VEG, it is reasonable to expect an emergency veterinary hospital to be equipped with essential diagnostic tools such as in-house laboratory services for rapid blood tests and other analyses, digital radiography (X-rays), ultrasound capabilities, and monitoring equipment to track vital signs. They would also have a well-stocked pharmacy to administer immediate medications and intravenous fluids. Depending on the complexity of the cases they handle, VEG might also have access to advanced surgical facilities and the expertise to perform emergency surgeries.
Given the nature of emergency veterinary care, promotional information is typically less common than in general practice veterinary clinics. Emergency hospitals primarily serve patients with immediate needs, and their focus is on providing critical care rather than routine services or discounts. Therefore, the absence of promotional mentions in the provided reviews is not surprising. Pet owners facing a pet emergency are primarily concerned with the quality and speed of care, rather than promotional offers.
The positive testimonials from pet owners highlight the core values and operational strengths of Veterinary Emergency Group in Redmond. The combination of an accessible and transparent treatment environment, coupled with prompt and effective medical care delivered by a kind and professional team, appears to be a hallmark of this emergency pet hospital. The willingness of a pet owner to return in case of another emergency, despite the stressful circumstances of an emergency visit, speaks volumes about the trust and confidence they have in VEG.
In conclusion, Veterinary Emergency Group in Redmond, WA, stands out as a highly recommended "Pet Hospital" for emergency veterinary needs. Its unique open-viewing emergency room and private waiting areas demonstrate a commitment to both pet welfare and owner comfort. The prompt and effective treatment, as highlighted in a critical case, underscores their medical capabilities. Furthermore, the kind and professional demeanor of the staff contributes significantly to a positive experience during stressful times. For pet owners in the Redmond area, Veterinary Emergency Group offers a reliable and compassionate option when faced with urgent pet health concerns, providing immediate care and support when it matters most.

Apr 08, 2025 · Linda SicotteThank you VEG for helping me when my cat ate a dryer sheet. I believe your speed or treatment made his survival possible. he was treated as soon as we walked in the door. All of the employees who we interacted with were kind and professional. We will return in case or another emergency which hopefully will not be for a while.
Apr 03, 2025 · Logan JohnsonThe whole team at VEG is fantastic. I was blown away not just by the skill of their techs and doctors but the honest love for what they do. As a fellow vet professional, I can say with truth that their positivity is reassuring in a career that does its best to stress you out! Huge thank yous to the entire team who looked after my dog during hospitalization, surgery, and recovery. And thanks for letting me take home the blanket he ate so I can play show and tell with my coworkers! You guys rock!!!
Mar 13, 2025 · Margaret KeersMy dog had a very serious infection, which required her to be hospitalized for 2 nights. Why is this vet so amazing? They are extremely competent and the facility is state of the art, but the real standout is their open floor concept, where you never have to leave your pet's side. I even stayed overnight in a private room with my dog. The service and care is world class. Every primary care vet and hospital should model themselves after VEG. And if your wondering, they were able to stabilize my dog and got her healthy again!
Nov 04, 2024 · Chris BadgerI cannot truly express in words how amazing and wonderful this team, experience and care was. This is very lengthy but it helps understand my experience at VEG Redmond. Freya (my 1.5 y/o GSD) was referred by another ER vet in Poulsbo for a suspected bowel obstruction. Freya was very visibly sick and I was a terrified mess trying to hold it together. I lost one of my fur babies two years ago to the same issue and as you can imagine the entire scene was playing through my head. The VEG Redmond team reached out to me before I even got on the ferry to come across. They got all the needed info to start Freya’s care as soon as we walked in the door. They checked in one more time before I arrived to see how Freya was doing and if anything had changed. When we arrived they let Freya stay in her own room, as she doesn’t do well with other dogs and made her as comfortable as possible. They brought her a yoga mat to lay on, a blanket to keep her warm and snacks/water for me. They kept me informed of the plan, progress, and process every step of the way. They included me in everything and encouraged me to join in to my level of comfort with all her treatment. It was hard to watch her be intubated and scoped. But they were very supportive in letting me come and go as needed for my comfort level. It was so nice to be able to check in, see how Freya was doing and knowing she was okay, and get active updates throughout her care. There was no long wait, where you’re sitting and thinking the worst possible outcomes. There were two staff members outside of Dr. McBane and Dr. Painter, who truly made me feel comfortable and I wish I could remember their names. One was the sweetest curly haired short woman with glasses and the other was the front desk woman with pink hair. They both not only kept me informed of Freya but also checked to see if I needed anything and understood when I needed to walk away. I was also able to keep my friend on speaker phone the whole time listening to everything, asking questions, and talking with the team. Which was helpful to have my best friend there but to know my babies at home were safe and happy too. The experience of being able to watch from afar or up close was very healing and reassuring on my side. I know it was good for Freya to be able to hear me and know I was near also. The added bonus of all the support and care provided, they saved Freya from having to go through a very invasive surgery for no reason and me thousands of dollars. Other ER vet services would have gone straight to surgery without me fully understanding her options and needs with a bill of easily 10 to 15K dollars. Where at VEG Redmond, although it was stressful at first, I feel like I was able to make fully informed safe decisions that were truly in the best interest of Freya. I felt like I was at a normal human hospital and working with people who understood that she’s my child and I’m a scared Mum. The sole focus was the health and wellness of my fur baby and me. I previously only took my fur babies to Blue Pearl Tacoma, but after this I will gladly bring them to VEG Redmond.
