They literally saved my bunnies life. The team treated Buns with such care, love and compassion. They allowed me to stay with him all night if I wanted to but I had other fur children waiting at home. They set him up in a cage right next to their desk so they could always see him. He was hooked up to an iv with fluids and on a monitor. They syringe fed him and gave him antibiotics. He is here today all thanks to the VEG team in Carle Place!! Thank you!!馃檹馃徏 馃惏鉂わ笍

Welcome to Veterinary Emergency Group
Welcome to the local introduction of Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG), a specialized pet hospital located at 204b Glen Cove Rd, Carle Place, NY 11514, USA. Operating distinctly within the platform category of Pet Hospital, VEG focuses on providing immediate and critical veterinary care for pets facing urgent medical situations. Unlike general veterinary practices, emergency hospitals like VEG are equipped and staffed to handle acute illnesses, injuries, and other life-threatening conditions that require immediate attention, often operating during evenings, weekends, and holidays when regular veterinary offices may be closed. You can reach them at their phone number: (516) 693-8859 or mobile phone: +1 516-693-8859.
The environment of a veterinary emergency hospital is typically designed to facilitate rapid assessment and treatment of critical cases. While specific details about the layout of the Carle Place VEG are not provided in the reviews, we can infer some common characteristics of such facilities. These often include a triage area for immediate evaluation of incoming patients, multiple examination rooms equipped for emergency procedures, a well-equipped surgical suite for urgent operations, and an intensive care unit (ICU) with advanced monitoring capabilities such as IV fluid pumps, oxygen support, and cardiac monitoring. The positive review mentioning a bunny being set up in a cage "right next to their desk" and being "hooked up to an iv with fluids and on a monitor" suggests a highly attentive and closely monitored environment, especially for critical patients. The ability for an owner to stay with their pet overnight (though declined in this instance) indicates a potentially more open and supportive environment for worried pet owners during stressful times. The overall impression from the positive reviews is one of a focused and efficient environment geared towards immediate and intensive care.
As a Pet Hospital specializing in emergencies, the core services offered by Veterinary Emergency Group revolve around addressing acute and critical health issues in pets. These services typically include immediate assessment and stabilization of patients, advanced diagnostics to quickly identify the underlying problem (such as on-site laboratory testing and imaging), emergency surgical interventions for conditions like bloat, foreign body ingestion, or traumatic injuries, and intensive medical care for severe illnesses or post-operative management. The positive review detailing the care of a bunny with an unspecified life-threatening condition highlights several key services: intravenous fluid therapy, administration of medications (antibiotics), assisted feeding (syringe feeding), and continuous monitoring. The second positive review mentions the prompt treatment of a swollen paw, indicating their ability to handle acute injuries requiring immediate attention. However, one review raises a concern about the cost and lack of upfront communication regarding a seemingly minor procedure (shaving fur), suggesting that while the medical care may be competent, transparency in pricing for all services might be an area for improvement.
Several features of Veterinary Emergency Group in Carle Place stand out based on the available customer feedback. A significant feature is their capacity to handle critical and potentially life-threatening situations, as evidenced by the bunny's successful recovery. The team is described as treating animals with "care, love, and compassion," indicating a patient-centered approach that extends beyond just the medical aspects of care. The willingness to allow an owner to stay with their pet overnight (if desired) suggests a supportive and empathetic approach towards pet owners experiencing anxiety during an emergency. The close monitoring of patients, as highlighted by the bunny being kept near the staff desk with continuous observation, is another positive feature indicating a high level of attentiveness. The second positive review emphasizes the team's compassion, patience, and detailed explanations, suggesting good communication with pet owners during stressful emergency situations. However, the negative aspect raised by one reviewer regarding the unexpected cost of a minor procedure (shaving fur) and the lack of prior communication about the charge points to a potential issue with transparency in pricing for all services, regardless of their perceived complexity.
In terms of promotional information, Veterinary Emergency Group could emphasize its specialization in emergency and critical care, highlighting its availability during times when regular veterinary offices are closed. They could promote their experienced and compassionate team, as praised in the positive reviews, and their ability to handle a wide range of emergency situations, from acute illnesses to injuries. The willingness to allow owners to stay with their pets in certain situations could also be a unique selling point, emphasizing their supportive approach to both pets and their families during stressful emergencies. Testimonials, particularly those highlighting successful recoveries from critical conditions, would be powerful in conveying their expertise and dedication. However, to provide a truly objective introduction, it is crucial to also acknowledge the concern raised about pricing transparency for minor procedures. Addressing this feedback by ensuring clearer communication about all potential costs before proceeding with any treatment or procedure, regardless of its perceived significance, would be essential for building trust and ensuring a positive overall experience for all clients.
For local users in Carle Place, NY, and the surrounding areas, Veterinary Emergency Group serves as a vital resource for urgent and critical pet health needs. The positive reviews highlight their ability to handle serious medical situations with compassion and expertise, providing close monitoring and attentive care. Their availability during off-hours can be a significant benefit when your regular veterinarian is unavailable. However, the feedback regarding unexpected charges for a minor procedure underscores the importance of asking for detailed cost estimates for all proposed treatments, even seemingly simple ones, before proceeding. If your pet experiences a sudden illness or injury requiring immediate attention, Veterinary Emergency Group appears to be a capable and caring emergency pet hospital. However, proactive communication about costs is something potential clients should be mindful of.
In conclusion, Veterinary Emergency Group in Carle Place, NY, is a dedicated pet hospital specializing in emergency and critical veterinary care. They have been praised for their compassionate and attentive treatment of pets in urgent situations, with a focus on close monitoring and detailed care. While their expertise in handling emergencies is a significant strength, potential clients should be aware of a reported issue regarding transparency in pricing for all procedures and should proactively seek cost estimates to avoid unexpected charges.

Apr 04, 2025 路 Dr NelsonI usually don鈥檛 write reviews but my partner had brought in my dog because she had developed a swollen paw overnight and we needed it treated right away and I found this emergency vet near by and they were compassion and patient and very detailed. They were actually great! My only issue was that they had to shave a bit of the hair from her paw to have a better look at where it was swollen and they charged $133 dollars for that? I find that absolutely ridiculous, they could have at least informed us on how much it would be to shave off a bit of hair from her paw before proceeding to do it. I could have bought a razor for cheaper and done it myself.
Apr 04, 2025 路 Jesica GonzalezWe sleep better knowing that VEG is just a few minutes away from us. Had an excellent experience with our cat who had discharge coming from her eye. We came in on a busier night, and it took a little time for us to be seen, though I was grateful that priority was being given to animals in critical conditions. We had our own room and were able to stay with our cat the entire time. They were quick and to the point with a diagnosis and got it right on the first time. Dr. Book and Star were so wonderful to us and our cat. They took sincere care in explaining what they were doing and what we needed to do for the next week to ensure healing, which was quite intense. I think the pricing was fair for the service they provide, especially being available 24/7. Our cat has made a full recovery and we couldn't be happier with the treatment we received for our girl. As an aside, during our visit, we did see a family going through a very difficult and emotional moment with their dog. I was so pleased to see how compassionate the doctors and staff were to everyone. I would certainly hope to expect the same thoughtfulness if we were in their place, and I am so happy to know that VEG can offer it.
