Earned this 5*. Took my dog to VEG as he had bad diarrhea and vomiting after talking to our neighbor who is a small animal vet. The admin and treatment team were courteous, knowledgeable, and compassionate. Especially liked the ER vet who carefully and patiently talked me through what she proposed and performed. The open layout was neat to use and helped my dog stay calm - I was able to be with him the whole time. We have our forever vet, but I will use VEG outside of my vet’s hours. Great place.

Can’t say enough good things about this place! They go above and beyond to make you and your pet comfortable. The doctor was so straight forward with my options and helped me make the best decision for my dog. We got to wait in a private room with a pullout bed and they gave both me and my dog pillows and blankets and made us as comfortable as possible. Their prices were reasonable for emergency services too. Everything about the experience was amazing. Appreciate the staff and accommodations so much!

I have been to VEG more times than any pet parent would like to be, and each location has been exceptional through it all (Georgetown, FC, and Alex.) Tonight was a hectic one as I brought my baby Athena in during some late hours. As horrible as some of the outcomes were that I witnessed for precious and loved fur babies, it was indescribable to see how fast staff worked together to give each pet and their parent 1000% until the very end. This made our wait quite a long one, but I didn’t care because I knew my Athena was in good hands. They ran all necessary tests to rule out obstructions and gave us a clear plan moving forward to treat some severe GI and allergy issues. Dr. Shaw and his staff (so sorry I didn’t catch all names, it was 2am and I was exhausted) were kind, caring, compassionate, and transparent through and through. I always say I hope I never see these folks again, but know that if I do, I know me, and more important my fur babies, are in the best hands. There is never one second where I’m not kept in the loop or pulled away from my baby. This eases anxiety all around which is critical during some of these moments. I also saw that our neighbor, Benny the St Bernard, comes here as well. He is an extremely loved part of our apartment community and we all just adore him to bits. I know if his parents are commending you, you all are doing the right things. Please do not hesitate to come here!!!

On Saturday night oct 26th around 10pm our beautiful Harmony ( 13 year old staffy with 5 years of cancer history) went to sleep and slipped into grand mal seizure. We called the local emergency vet who was soon closing and they quickly directed us to VEG Emergency Group. I scooped up Harmony and we all got into car and rushed the 20 minute drive to get there. VEG emergency group knew we were on the way and held the door open while I carried Harmony in. They directed me to a station, started an i.v, got vitals, and administered medication in what felt like less than a minute. The focus was to get her hooked up THEN they got my information. The hospital is set up so the owner can be with the pet for the entire treatment process, so I was able to watch Harmony's vitals and pet her the whole time. They have coffee, water, snacks and areas for owners to rest so they can stay with their pets. The Dr was there and ready, listened to what happened, and her quick history, she gave everyone directions to get everything started, then talked to me and got a plan going within 5 minutes of being there. We knew it was unlikely to end well but the team and Dr. gave Harmony every possible chance and fought for hours to bring her back to me. After 1 am oct 27th Harmony was still unable to wake up, we agreed the damage was done. They would have continued trying if I asked, but I knew it was time. They made her comfortable and moved us to a private room for goodbyes. Everyone who helped us was amazing l, especially with me in a daze asking the same questions. There were multiple other people/pets there that were all being helped for emergencies but the office remained a calm environment. I know they have tons of locations so if you're ever in an emergency, I highly recommend VEG Emergency Group. And I wish I knew the names of the people who helped us, but I appreciate them so much. Harmony has been my special girl for 11 years, she had gone through far too much and got me through unspeakable things. Thank you, for being there for us both.

The only place in NoVA that didn't have a crazy wait time at 10:30pm on a Friday night. Everyone there was incredibly kind and gentle with my 10 year old cat. Getting checked in was a breeze, and payment and checkout was equally easy. My new go-to recommendation for any 24/7 ER vet services. Pricey, but worth every penny.
