We had booked an appointment, but waited over an hour to be seen. There is no waiting room, screens or chairs, so other pets and owners are all crowded together in the store, which is stressful for the animals. The employee checking us in was unable to tell us who was next or how long we would be waiting. The employee took no responsibility for selling the wrong package to us, claiming that they were just the check in person. This resulted in a surprise bill for the boosters - another $150. Two stars, rather than one because the vet herself was lovely and considerate of our dogs.

Vetco Vaccination Clinic Introduce

Welcome to the introduction of Vetco Vaccination Clinic, a Pet Hospital located at 9 W Avon Rd, Avon, CT 06001, USA. You can contact them at (860) 404-8880 or via their mobile number, +1 860-404-8880. As a "Vaccination Clinic" within the broader category of Pet Hospital, Vetco likely focuses primarily on providing vaccination services for pets, along with potentially other preventative care measures such as microchipping. The customer reviews available online offer a mixed perspective on the clinic, highlighting both positive and negative aspects of the experience.

One reviewer recounted a negative experience regarding the waiting process and billing. Despite having a booked appointment, they waited over an hour to be seen. The absence of a dedicated waiting room with screens or chairs resulted in a crowded situation within the store, which was perceived as stressful for the animals. The check-in employee was reportedly unable to provide information about the waiting order or estimated wait time. Furthermore, this customer experienced an issue with being sold the wrong package, which led to a surprise bill of an additional $150 for boosters, with the check-in employee disclaiming responsibility. Despite these negative aspects, the reviewer gave two stars (instead of one) because they found the veterinarian herself to be "lovely and considerate" of their dogs.

Another customer had a more positive experience when getting their cat microchipped. They noted that the actual microchipping process was "quick and smooth" and found the technicians to be "very knowledgeable." This suggests that for straightforward procedures like microchipping, the clinic may operate efficiently and with competent staff.

A third reviewer shared a concerning experience regarding the staff's initial interaction and diagnostic approach. They brought in a recently rescued, approximately four-year-old cat who was not in the best health. The reviewer felt that the staff was "a bit rude" in the beginning, questioning the lack of medical history. They also reported that the staff "over exaggerated some medical issues" and immediately urged surgery. However, when the reviewer's mother returned to clarify that the cat was a recent rescue, the staff reportedly "backed off their original statement" and instead recommended a check-up. The reviewer felt this issue could have been avoided if the staff had reviewed the paperwork indicating the cat was a fresh rescue or asked clarifying questions before jumping to conclusions and being rude. This review raises concerns about the initial communication and diagnostic approach in at least one instance.

Based on these reviews, the environment at this Vetco Vaccination Clinic appears to lack a dedicated waiting area, potentially leading to overcrowding and stress for pets and owners within the retail store setting where it might be located. While cleanliness and organization were not explicitly mentioned, the lack of a comfortable waiting space is a notable aspect of the environment described. The presence of knowledgeable technicians for procedures like microchipping suggests that some staff members are competent in their roles.

As a Vetco Vaccination Clinic, the primary services likely include vaccinations for various animals. The mention of microchipping indicates another service they offer. Given the negative billing experience related to a "package" and "boosters," they likely offer different vaccination packages. The recommendation for a "check-up" in one of the reviews suggests they also provide basic veterinary examinations, although their approach in that instance was criticized. It is reasonable to assume they also provide the necessary medications or recommend them following vaccinations or microchipping procedures.

Features of this Vetco Vaccination Clinic include the presence of a "lovely and considerate" veterinarian, as noted by one reviewer. The quick and smooth microchipping process and knowledgeable technicians are also positive features. However, potential drawbacks include long wait times even with appointments, a stressful waiting environment, issues with billing and incorrect package sales, and instances of perceived rudeness and premature diagnostic conclusions from some staff members.

No specific promotional information was included in the reviews. Typically, vaccination clinics might promote discounted vaccination packages, special offers for microchipping when done with vaccinations, or loyalty programs for repeat customers. However, we do not have any such information for this specific Vetco Vaccination Clinic.

For local users in Singapore considering this information, it is crucial to note the location is in Avon, CT, USA. Direct services are not applicable. However, the experiences shared by these customers highlight important factors to consider when choosing a local Pet Hospital or vaccination clinic. These include the comfort and organization of the waiting area, the efficiency of the appointment system and wait times, the clarity and accuracy of billing, the knowledge and demeanor of the staff, and the thoroughness and communication of the veterinary professionals.

In conclusion, Vetco Vaccination Clinic in Avon, CT, offers vaccination and microchipping services. While one reviewer praised the veterinarian and another the microchipping process and technicians, others reported significant issues with long wait times, a stressful waiting environment, billing errors, and concerns about staff demeanor and initial diagnostic approaches. Potential clients might find value in their vaccination and microchipping services but should be aware of the reported shortcomings in other areas. For users in Singapore, these reviews underscore the importance of researching and considering various aspects of a pet clinic beyond just the services offered, such as customer service and the overall experience.

Pretty decent, got my cat microchipped here. The actual microchipping process went quickly and smoothly and the technicians were very knowledgeable. My cat is a rescue I had recently gotten, but he is about 4 years old already. He came from a not so great place, so he wasn’t in the best health when I got him. The staff were a bit rude in the beginning questioning some medical history I didn’t have. They also over exaggerated some medical issues he may have, urging surgery immediately - but when my mom went back in to double check, after realizing he was freshly rescued, they backed off their original statement and simply said he should get a check up then. Could’ve been no issue if they had looked at the paperwork I had stating he’s a fresh rescue or asked me any questions before just jumping to conclusions and being rude to me as a result.

Affordable had to wait 3 hours but was half the price or more of a discount than a vet.
