WOW! VCA went above and beyond for us in a heart breaking time. We went in late at night with a very sick dog. The staff was absolutely wonderful when the heartbreaking decision came. Allowing us to be with him the whole time and spend time after. They even had someone come sit with him as we left so he was never alone. Only 3 days later we received our beautifully engraved box and paw prints. In the mail a couple of weeks later we received ink paw prints, nose prints and a lock of his hair! All of this done in a extremely reasonable price! I'm so touched by the love and compassion that was given to us when our hearts were breaking. This was our first time with them and they made it feel like we were family and long time patients. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I am forever grateful for VCA's care, love, compassion, and respect that was given to not only us but also our beloved Butch. Thank you VCA especially Dr. Anney, Alie, and Jackie!

Based on the reviews from pet owners, experiences at VCA Veterinary Specialists of Northern Colorado appear to be varied, with some highlighting exceptional compassion and others reporting significant dissatisfaction. One deeply touched pet owner shared their experience during a heartbreaking time when they had to make the difficult decision to euthanize their very sick dog late at night. They were profoundly grateful for the wonderful staff who allowed them to be with their dog throughout the process and spend time with him afterward. The clinic even ensured their dog was not alone as they left. Within days, they received a beautifully engraved box and paw prints, followed by ink paw prints, nose prints, and a lock of hair in the mail a couple of weeks later. This level of care and compassion was provided at what they considered an extremely reasonable price. This reviewer, a first-time client, felt like family and long-time patients, expressing immense gratitude and wishing they could give more than five stars, specifically thanking Dr. Anney, Alie, and Jackie.

However, a contrasting and strongly negative experience was reported by another reviewer whose parents visited the emergency clinic over a weekend. While they found the front desk staff to be great, their experience with the care staff was poor, describing the vet techs as unfriendly and unwelcoming to both the pet owners and their dog. They reported that an exam was not properly conducted before they were charged for a more expensive procedure. The reviewer described the doctor, Stephen Miller, as not warm, friendly, or inviting, but rather arrogant and dismissive, not taking the time to greet their family and dog properly or reassure them. They felt the techs were overly focused on the doctor, disregarding his poor patient interaction. This reviewer also claimed that a rectal exam that was supposed to be performed before charging for a more expensive procedure was not done. They found the doctor rude and quick to become upset about their dog's weight issues. Overall, they described it as a very bad experience at the ER clinic and vowed never to return, contrasting it sharply with their positive experiences at a VCA animal hospital in Milliken. They expressed being appalled by the behavior of the staff and stated they would advise all their friends and family to avoid this location.

As a VCA Veterinary Specialists center, the environment is expected to be well-equipped to handle both emergency cases and specialized treatments. This would likely include advanced diagnostic imaging (such as digital radiography, ultrasound, and possibly CT or MRI), surgical suites, a well-staffed intensive care unit, and comfortable areas for patient recovery. The facility would be designed to support a wide range of complex medical and surgical needs.

The features of VCA Veterinary Specialists generally include a team of board-certified specialists in various fields, advanced medical equipment, and a commitment to providing a high level of veterinary care. The positive review highlights the compassionate end-of-life care and thoughtful gestures provided by the staff. However, the negative review points to potential issues with the bedside manner of at least one doctor and some of the technical staff, as well as concerns about transparency regarding procedures and charges.

The provided information does not contain details about specific promotional offers. Specialty veterinary centers may occasionally have promotions for certain services or educational events. The contrasting reviews paint a picture of a facility that can provide exceptional, compassionate care in some circumstances, particularly in emotionally sensitive situations like end-of-life care. However, there are also reports of negative experiences, particularly concerning the demeanor of some staff members and the handling of emergency visits. Local users may want to weigh these different perspectives when considering this Pet Hospital.

My parents recently went in over this past weekend and did not have a good experience with the staff. The ladies in the front were great but when it came to the care staff they did not care at all!! The vet techs were not the most friendly and inviting people when it came to my parents being greeted and my dog being greeted. An exam was not properly done before we were already being charged for a more expensive procedure. The doctor was not warm, friendly or inviting at all when it came to greeting my family and our dog. He was very arrogant and cocky and did not even give my parents or dog the time of day to be greeted nicely. This was doctor Stephen Miller. All the techs are obviously swoon over him and completely disregard the fact that he is not very nice to patients. He didn’t even take the time to greet my family and dog yo reassure them everything will be okay. He acted like we shouldn’t have been there and we didn’t have an emergency. Didn’t even do a rectal exam like he said he would before charging us for a more expensive procedure. He was very rude and quick to get upset with the fact my dog has weight problems we have been trying to work on. Overall a very bad experience at the er clinic here. Never again will we come back here! I thought it was a good place with the reviews but I was very wrong. Our VCA animal hospital in milliken has never ever treated us in such a manner. Your office and staff are in need of a serious review and discipline. There was no need for the actions that took place on 4/5/25 this year. All my friends and family will be told not to come here! I have never had a bad experience at a vet clinic whether it be a normal visit or er. I am just appalled at the behavior displayed by this staff. Absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. We will never return!!

It’s taken me a while to write this because it’s difficult to put into words how grateful we are for the team at VCA VSNC. Our dog, Oliver, was diagnosed with Masticatory Muscle Myositis in Dec 2023 and we were referred to Dr Komitor from our primary vet. It was incredibly scary and we had no idea what to expect. Since the day we met her, Dr Komitor has been incredibly kind, patient and caring. She has answered every single question we’ve had (& there have been many!), validated our feelings, taken the time to explain every step in the treatment process in detail, and most importantly, cared for our sweet boy. She has gone above and beyond to make sure he is getting the absolute best care possible. We are confident that he’s still with us & doing so well because of her expertise. We’ve also worked closely with Dr Hannah Gallagher on physical therapy for Ollie’s jaw & Dr Hilling to manage the impact to his body from prolonged steroid use. Both are incredible, kind, and so knowledgeable. We’ve seen a handful of the other vets on staff as well over the past year for miscellaneous emergencies. Every single person on staff, from Sharon at the front desk to Karen on the Neuro team, has been incredibly kind and patient as we’ve tried to navigate this past year. This level of care is more than we could’ve ever hoped for. My husband and I are so beyond grateful for this team & I truly believe they are the reason we will get to spend many more years with Ollie!

My beloved lady, Nala, fractured a bone and was wrongly diagnosed by a DIFFERENT vet. VCA was able to get me in so quickly, and explain everything to me / answer all my anxious questions. they gave me multiple options and outlined the risk/reward of each. The front desk, vet techs, and DR Green are wonderful. I can tell they care about my dog and myself & want to give us the best outcome & that’s all I could ask for!

My experience with VCA neurology has been nothing short of amazing. My dog was diagnosed with meningitis and Dr. Packer explained everything very thoroughly and had a plan for us moving forward. I would recommend them for any of your needs !
