Even though we lost Marcus, our beloved black-and-white cat, my mother and I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Barreto and her staff at this Vet Emergency Center. Their kindness and quick action helped ease Marcus’s pain in his final moments. His sudden passing was deeply heartbreaking, but we take comfort in knowing he had a wonderful life here on our 40 acres. While our hearts feel the loss, we also recognized the need to open our home to other cats in need of love and care. Somewhere out there, shelter cats were waiting for a warm place to call home and a cozy spot by the Christmas tree. That’s when we found Max and Oliver, and they’ve already brought so much joy to our lives. To anyone visiting this clinic, we hope you never have to say goodbye to your pet, but if you do, rest assured you’ll be surrounded by compassionate and caring people who truly understand.

We came in as an emergency late at night for a kitten who was in a lot of pain, unknown cause. They were kind enough to get us in within a timely manner. They treated me with respect and gave the kitten pain medicine promptly. Did a very thorough work up. Cost wise for everything that happened that night I thought it was well within an appropriate charge being an emergency visit. The vet was extremely kind and explained everything in detail. I would highly recommend their office.

While on a road trip from Chicago to Minnesota, our corgi ingested two pieces of sugar free gum containing Xylitol which is extremely poisonous to dogs. We pulled over in Madison and spoke with the staff over the phone to figure out how to handle the situation. They were extremely kind, helpful, and patient. They asked many questions and made sure that we felt comfortable. Although we ultimately did not need to visit the office (thank goodness!), I experienced wonderful service and care over the phone and would gladly bring my dog here.

I sadly had to put my senior dog down, on New Years Day. Not that it being a holiday mattered, but the fact that these kind people were working and doing it with grace. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Especially veterinarian Sam and her support staff Kyla and Stonie (i think). They were there for me in every way possible when I was by myself losing my beloved pet. Thank you again, and absolutely would recommend VCA to anyone who unfortunately needs their services.

We called ahead to let them know the circumstances of our kitten, they were ready and waiting to triage him as soon as we got there. We weren't there long as they diagnosed our little guy with feline parvo and we opted to have him euthanized. The staff were kind and compassionate, and gave my daughter and I plenty of time to get our goodbyes in. We stayed with him until the very end and they put him in his own little casket that we could bury him in. Thank you to the staff that showed us lots of love and understanding today. We appreciate you.
