We've been going to vca for well over a few years at this point. They've taken great care of our pets, with good scheduling and good reminders. We just recently had to let go our my buddy of nearly 18 years, and they were very patient and compassionate with us. They have my friends plenty of time to say good bye, and even let me cry and hold my boy 20 minutes after they closed. Only disclaimer is the location. The lot is small, and can sometimes get packed very quickly. Not there fault just a disclaimer for anyone new.

Welcome to VCA Rock Creek Animal Hospital

VCA Rock Creek Animal Hospital, located at 1445 NW 185th Ave in Aloha, Oregon, is part of the national VCA (Veterinary Centers of America) network of pet hospitals. As a local Pet Hospital, it aims to provide a range of veterinary services to the Aloha community and surrounding areas. Based on customer reviews, experiences at this clinic appear to be varied, with some pet owners reporting positive interactions and others expressing significant concerns.

Regarding the environment, one reviewer noted that the parking lot is small and can become crowded quickly, which is a logistical consideration for potential visitors. Inside the clinic, some long-term clients have reported positive experiences over several years, highlighting good scheduling and helpful reminders for pet care. These aspects suggest an organized administrative approach to managing appointments and client communication. However, it's important to note that these positive comments are contrasted by more recent, deeply concerning experiences.

The services offered at VCA Rock Creek Animal Hospital, as inferred from the reviews, include general veterinary care, diagnostic procedures (such as temperature checks, mouth swabs, and bloodwork, including PCR tests), and end-of-life care. One long-term client mentioned having a special-needs dog who received "several procedures" at the clinic, indicating a capacity for surgical or more involved treatments. The clinic also appears to offer supportive services during difficult times, as highlighted by the compassionate handling of a pet's passing, allowing owners time to say goodbye and grieve. However, a significant and deeply critical review details a concerning lack of timely and appropriate medical intervention for a sick cat, which raises serious questions about the standard of care in certain situations. This experience included multiple diagnostic tests without the prescription of antibiotics despite indicators of infection, a delayed response to worsening symptoms, and a perceived lack of urgency that led the pet owner to seek care elsewhere.

Several features emerge from the customer reviews, both positive and negative. A perceived strength, based on one long-term review, is the efficient scheduling and reminder system, which can be beneficial for pet owners managing regular veterinary care. The compassion shown during end-of-life situations is also noted as a positive aspect of their service. However, a significant and critical feature highlighted in a recent review is a deeply concerning lack of appropriate and timely medical care, leading to a tragic outcome for one pet. This review also mentions unprofessional behavior and a lack of prioritization of animal welfare by the hospital manager, based on the pet owner's interactions following their negative experience. This starkly contrasts with the positive experiences reported by other clients.

Currently, there is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. Potential clients would need to contact VCA Rock Creek Animal Hospital directly at (503) 645-4458 or +1 503-645-4458 to inquire about any ongoing promotions, new client specials, or the VCA CareClub mentioned in one of the reviews. It is advisable for prospective clients to ask detailed questions about the clinic's protocols, especially regarding communication, follow-up on test results, and the prescription of medications based on diagnostic findings.

In conclusion, VCA Rock Creek Animal Hospital in Aloha, OR, has received mixed reviews. While some long-term clients report positive experiences with scheduling, reminders, and compassionate end-of-life care, a recent detailed review expresses severe dissatisfaction with the medical care provided to a sick cat, alleging negligence, lack of timely treatment, and unprofessional management. This critical review raises significant concerns about the consistency and quality of care at this location. Potential clients should carefully consider these contrasting experiences and are encouraged to conduct their own due diligence, including asking detailed questions about the clinic's practices and approach to patient care, before entrusting their pets to VCA Rock Creek Animal Hospital.

UPDATE 12/16/24: my cat is now DEAD because of the lack of care we received at VCA Rock Creek animal hospital. From a grieving pet parent, please take our advice and DO NOT bring your pets to this location. The hospital manager is terribly unprofessional, a bully and does not put the care of animals first. A Disheartening Experience I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the care provided VCA Rock Creek Animal Hospital. Our experience was nothing short of distressing and disappointing. We visited the vet on 10/30 with our sick cat, hoping for professional care and a timely diagnosis. After enduring four temperature checks, three mouth swabs, and extensive bloodwork, Dr stated that they couldn't SEE any signs of illness except for a high temperature of 104°. Despite conducting a blood test and a PCR test, she did not prescribe any antibiotics, and we were sent home with only an appetite stimulant medication, for which we paid a total of $450 WITH CARE CLUB. On 10/31, Dr called to inform us that the blood work showed a high white blood cell count. However, they concluded that because she couldn't SEE any visible signs of illness, our cat must be fighting it off on her own and still did not prescribe any medication. Then, on 11/4, they called again to confirm that the PCR results indicated an upper respiratory infection but again, no antibiotics were prescribed. On 11/7, I called the clinic to report that my cat was vomiting, to which Dr. responded it was an adverse reaction to the appetite stimulant and advised us to discontinue its use. After stopping the medication, my cat's eating improved until 11/15, when she began vomiting again. I left an urgent message with the front desk requesting antibiotics and for the doctor to call me back. It took four hours of waiting before I decided to contact a different VCA for care. The new vet was appalled by the lack of care we received at Rock Creek. Upon contacting Rock Creek for medical records, they suddenly began processing antibiotics, just one hour before closing time. The lack of adequate care was such a shock to the new VCA that they wrote an email to the Rock Creek medical director about not upholding VCA's care standards. DO NOT take your pet to VCA Rock Creek Animal Hospital. The negligence and lack of timely care from them has put our beloved pet at risk and caused unnecessary stress and anxiety. Seek care elsewhere where your pet's health and well-being will be genuinely prioritized. * EDIT * after a terribly unprofessional and gaslighting response from their hospital manager, I have removed the name of the new doctor we received care from.

I recently moved to Portland and this veterinary/hospital was my first place to go. After looking at their good reviews, and taking into account that they did grooming, I decided to check it out. My first day there was amazing. The receptionist were very nice, and the doctor took her time to listen to all of my concerns. I did not feel rushed atany point in the interaction. Additonally, she ensured I knew what was necessary and what was optional. I would have left 5 stars then and there. Although, I didn't make a review until my dog got a grooming. Her grooming confirmed the 5 stars. She came back so soft and smelling so good. She was well taken care of and all I needed was done. The staff at VCA Rock Creek is amazing and I'm so happy I have them to look after my babies

The front desk staff are always amazing. The vet Natassia Ruse is my favorite, she always is so caring I appreciate her honestly and professionalism. This was the first time I got Bob as a vet tech he was so friendly and kind. Thank you guys for the continued care you provide me all these years later with Raider. Edit: It was finally time to take care of my old man and again was treated with the utmost care and respect. I got to take home my pet within a week of the service and it was a simple yet beautiful process. I received a handwritten letter from Dr. Ruse she is absolutely wonderful and I would trust her again to help me make decisions with my pets needs. Thank you all at VCA rock creek for all you do!

We booked an emergent appointment at VCA RockCreek as our young kitty was on deaths door after an unknown accident (possibly hit by a car or had a long fall from a tree) Upon quickly meeting with Dr. Allison Wang, we discovered our kitty had a broken rib & punctured lung. He was suffocating, filling with air, and in immense pain. His survival rates were pretty low. A 5k surgery at the Emergency Vet in Beaverton was unfortunately not an option for us. We put our trust in Dr. Wang to do all that she could to save our kitty. She made numerous phone calls for us, spoke to other Dr.’s, & made a wonderful plan for our kitty. Miraculously to her surprise & ours, he survived! Her number one goal was to make him as comfortable & pain free as possible. She texted me daily to check in on his pain and reassured us that we were doing all that we could. We were never charged for multiple follow up appointments that regarded to this issue & she stuck to our budget. The staff as a whole, saved our kitty's life. We are so incredibly grateful for VCA RockCreek & especially Dr. Wang.
