I have been taking my dogs to Total Care for years and have had good care for the most part. That being said, there was a new vet on my last visit and I have never had such a horrendous experience. She wanted to put my dog under Anesthesia for a simple broken nail. When I questioned this since it’s never been done that way before, she got very combative and ended up refusing to treat my dog and told me I could take him to an emergency clinic if I wanted him taken care of. Luckily Westchester Veterinary hospital was able to see my dog later that day and provided phenomenal care. The vet at Westchester said I absolutely made the right call in not allowing my dog to be put to sleep - that anesthesia should always be a last resort, never the first line of defense. Especially in older dogs that are at higher risk. I won’t be bringing my dogs here anymore since Westchester Veterinary Hospital provided much better care and at a lower cost.

Welcome to Total Care Veterinary Hospital
Welcome to the introduction of Total Care Veterinary Hospital, a pet hospital located at 633 McDonald Ct, High Point, NC 27260, USA. Operating within the Pet Hospital category, Total Care Veterinary Hospital offers veterinary services for your animal companions. They can be reached at (336) 841-8877 or their mobile number +1 336-841-8877.
The available feedback from pet owners regarding Total Care Veterinary Hospital presents a somewhat mixed perspective. One long-term customer, who had been taking their dogs to the clinic for about 15 years, initially reported generally good care. However, their recent experience with a new veterinarian was described as "horrendous." In this instance, the new vet reportedly wanted to use anesthesia for a simple broken nail. When the owner questioned this approach, the vet became "combative," refused to treat the dog, and suggested an emergency clinic instead. This customer subsequently sought care at another veterinary hospital, Westchester Veterinary Hospital, where they received what they considered phenomenal care at a lower cost, and the vet there supported their decision against anesthesia for a broken nail, especially for an older dog.
In contrast, another customer shared a very positive experience, specifically mentioning Dr. Figgatt, Leslie, and Margie for providing excellent care for their dog. They described the exam and treatment as "very thorough" and "professional," and appreciated having ample time to ask questions and discuss their dog's condition. This reviewer was "very impressed" by the staff at Total Care and expressed gratitude for the "caring and compassionate care." They also acknowledged Dr. Goho's follow-up, expertise, and customer service, reinforcing their positive impression of the clinic, which they had been using for about 15 years.
Based on these reviews, it's challenging to definitively describe the typical environment of Total Care Veterinary Hospital. The positive feedback suggests a clinic with a professional and caring staff, where thorough exams and thoughtful discussions about a pet's condition are prioritized. However, the negative review points to a potential for variability in approach depending on the specific veterinarian, and possibly a lack of flexibility or clear communication in certain situations. Prospective clients might find a welcoming and professional setting, but the experience could be influenced by the veterinarian they interact with.
Regarding services, the reviews directly mention general veterinary care, examinations, treatment of conditions (like a broken nail), and follow-up care. The positive experience highlights thorough exams and professional treatment. While a comprehensive list of services isn't provided in the text, a typical pet hospital usually offers a variety of medical, surgical, and preventative care, which may include:
- Routine check-ups and vaccinations
- Dental care
- Surgical procedures
- Treatment for illnesses and injuries (including broken nails)
- Diagnostic services
- Anesthesia (used in some cases, though its appropriateness can vary)
- Follow-up care and communication
- Potentially other specialized services.
To obtain a complete understanding of all the services offered at Total Care Veterinary Hospital, contacting them directly would be advisable.
In terms of features, the positive review emphasizes the thoroughness of the exams, the professionalism of the treatment, the time taken to answer questions, and the caring and compassionate nature of the staff, including Dr. Figgatt, Leslie, and Margie. The follow-up by Dr. Goho and his expertise are also noted as positive features. However, the negative review highlights a potential issue with a particular veterinarian's approach to treatment (proposing anesthesia for a broken nail) and their handling of a pet owner questioning that approach, leading to a refusal of treatment. This suggests that while some members of the team are highly regarded, experiences can vary.

Aug 07, 2024 · Marybeth BehringerIt’s not often that I write reviews for businesses, whether they be good or bad. But our (great) experience today at Total Care needs to be shared. Our cat had a dental procedure done & was supposed to be ready for pickup around 4:30. I had just picked my 3yo up from school - she was sweaty, she was tired, & she was hungry. There are only 2 rooms at this office so we had to wait our turn. As you all know, young children & waiting don’t typically go hand in hand. My daughter started getting really antsy, she asked where our cat was a bazillion times, & I was getting overall frustrated. The receptionist (whose name I didn’t get 😭) called my daughter over & asked if she wanted to color. She gave my daughter multiple highlighters, a clipboard, & a coloring sheet. Finally when it was our turn to go back into a room, my daughters patience was nonexistent. I was trying to talk to the vet & she just kept asking to leave. The receptionist poked her head in the office & asked if she could take my daughter for a bit. I told her yes. Once I got done talking with the vet, I came out & she had given my daughter a dozen little ducks to hide in the cabinet. My daughter was having so much fun she didn’t even realize I had come out of the room. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Jun 13, 2024 · Alyssa DayTaking our beloved Daisy to Total care was not rare. We are clients for many years. Daisy wasn't herself for a few days now and we were concerned. Daisy was found under a car in my sister's neighborhood, she was able to lure her out and gratefully get her to a Vet for evaluation. She was about 9-10 years old. Otherwise in good health and hungry my Sister couldn't keep her as she traveled a lot and asked if I wanted another dog. We had a meet and greet and she melted my heart and was brought to her forever home. After this recent visit to the hospital and the news no pet lover wants to hear,we had to make a decision. This wasn't going to be about money or are we doing the right thing,it was about her quality of life with the time she had left. Daisy brought us unconditional love and happiness that I'm sure many of you have experienced. We wanted to give her a pain free and peaceful end. Not an ending to the memories she gave us but to any suffering she would have gone through. Thank you Total Care/Skeetclub friends for your out pouring love and kind words. You are all where you are suppose to be. God bless you all Joe
