I took my perfectly healthy French bulldog named Piper and for a spay last week. She was brought out to me cradle like a baby, and that is how I carried her as no one told me not to there was no aftercare information she could not walk on her own and her eyes were Still very loopy from the surgery. The girl that brought her out to me is not a vet, nor is she a vet tech. If the vet had been allowed to see her one more time, she might still be here or if they had told me not to bring her home like that, and lay her flat she might still be here. On the phone that night, the owner tried to blame all of the health issues that a friend she has as a reason of what must’ve happen Ed Well if you can’t operate on them, then you shouldn’t be and if you can’t perform something emergency because sometimes emergencies happen, then you shouldn’t be doing it at all. You robbed me of my baby. She looked at me while she was being weighed before I left that morning and she looked at me and she knew she wasn’t coming home. She knew she wasn’t coming home. How could you rob me of her? I have lost everything this year and you took one of the last things that meant anything to me. She deserved better.

Welcome to The Love Pet Clinic
The Love Pet Clinic, situated at 8716 SC-90, Longs, SC 29568, USA, operates within the "Pet Hospital" category, aiming to provide veterinary services to the local community. The clinic appears to position itself as an accessible option for common veterinary procedures, particularly focusing on affordability for essential services such as spaying, neutering, and vaccinations. Understanding the environment, services, features, and client experiences is crucial for pet owners considering this facility for their animal's care.
The general environment and staff demeanor at The Love Pet Clinic have received mixed feedback from clients. One positive review highlights a "Great place, staff is friendly," suggesting that at least some clients find the clinic's atmosphere welcoming and the personnel approachable. This aspect of friendly staff can contribute to a more comfortable experience for pet owners, especially when they are entrusting their beloved animals to veterinary care. However, a highly critical review also indicates significant concerns regarding patient handling and client communication, suggesting that the overall experience can vary drastically. This latter feedback points to potential inconsistencies in patient care protocols and post-operative guidance, which are critical elements for pet owner satisfaction and animal well-being. The discrepancy in reviews implies that while the general interaction with staff might be positive for some, the crucial medical and post-care processes may not always meet expected standards.
Based on the available information, The Love Pet Clinic appears to focus on offering fundamental veterinary services, particularly those that are often sought for affordability. The services explicitly mentioned in reviews include:
-
Spay and Neuter Services: These are common surgical procedures offered to control pet populations and provide health benefits to individual animals. The clinic seems to offer these at competitive prices, as indicated by a client stating, "pricing is much better than what the Veterinary charges!"
-
Rabies Vaccinations: A critical preventative health measure and often a legal requirement for pets, rabies vaccinations are also provided. One client noted a preference for a three-year vaccination over a one-year one, suggesting the clinic might primarily offer the shorter-duration vaccination, which could be a factor for some pet owners.
While these services are essential, the available information does not detail a broader spectrum of veterinary care such as comprehensive diagnostics (e.g., X-rays, blood work beyond basic panels), advanced surgical procedures, dental care beyond extractions (if offered), or specialized treatments for complex illnesses. The focus seems to be on high-volume, more routine procedures where cost-effectiveness is a primary draw.
The primary feature highlighted by clients is the affordability of services. The clinic’s pricing for procedures like spaying and vaccinations is noted as being significantly more budget-friendly compared to other veterinary practices. This makes The Love Pet Clinic an attractive option for pet owners who prioritize cost savings on essential preventative and surgical care.
Another feature is the friendliness of the staff, as mentioned in a positive review. A pleasant and amiable staff can greatly enhance a client's experience, making them feel more comfortable and trusting.
However, a critical aspect of The Love Pet Clinic's features, as observed from one review, pertains to post-operative care and client communication. The serious concerns raised about the lack of aftercare information, the pet's condition upon discharge, and the subsequent tragic outcome for a French bulldog named Piper are significant. This suggests potential deficiencies in standardized discharge protocols, veterinary oversight during critical post-surgical hours, and effective communication with pet owners about potential risks and necessary at-home care. The accusation of blaming the pet's pre-existing health issues without direct veterinary communication or proper post-surgical assessment, if accurate, points to a crucial area for improvement in patient management and client trust.
For pet owners, features like competitive pricing are balanced against the paramount importance of medical competency, thorough aftercare instructions, and transparent communication, especially concerning surgical procedures.
Promotional information for The Love Pet Clinic, derived from customer reviews, presents a dichotomy of experiences.
-
On one hand, there is strong advocacy for its affordability and staff demeanor: "Great place, staff is friendly. Second dog done here. Spay and rabies vaccination done, just wish the vaccination was for 3 yrs instead of 1 yr, pricing is much better than what the Veterinary charges! Highly recommend The Love Pet Clinic." This testimonial actively recommends the clinic, emphasizing its value proposition and reliable service for routine needs. The fact that a client returned for a second pet indicates a degree of satisfaction with the general service and cost-effectiveness.

On the other hand, a highly detailed and distressing account provides a stark contrast: "I took my perfectly healthy French bulldog named Piper and for a spay last week. She deserved better." This review is a critical warning, highlighting potential issues with surgical protocols, immediate post-operative monitoring, staff qualifications for discharge, and crisis communication. The emotional distress and perceived lack of responsibility are significant concerns for potential clients evaluating the clinic's overall reliability and standard of care for more invasive procedures.
For local users in Longs, SC, considering The Love Pet Clinic, these contrasting reviews offer a dual perspective. The clinic may serve as a viable option for those seeking cost-effective basic vaccinations and spay/neuter services, particularly if their pet is young and generally healthy. However, for more complex procedures or if a pet has underlying health concerns, the critical feedback regarding post-operative care and communication warrants careful consideration. Pet owners are encouraged to directly inquire about post-operative protocols, emergency handling, and the qualifications of staff involved in patient discharge. The Love Pet Clinic can be reached at (843) 390-2648 or +1 843-390-2648 for inquiries and appointments.

May 10, 2025 · Marr AprilThey have a long wait, but I was lucky to get a call the following week of a canceled appt. the day the do surgeries. I was able to get my pups fixed. Vet was and staff are very nice and prices are beyond reasonable.
Feb 13, 2025 · Cicci SwuertI took my Boston terrier there last year to get spayed. They were very kind, my dog had no problems. You take them in the morning and pick him up in the afternoon. They are reputable and reasonable. But you must go in person to make the appointments.
Dec 03, 2024 · Peggy GeyerMy visit to the Love Pet Clinic for Spay and Neutering Services was a very Welcoming Response. The Ladies were friendly, courteous and efficient while registering my Little Furry Feline for Spaying....Though it will be a bit of a wait for her surgery, I felt this was definitely the place to choose... It is worth the drive for piece of mind... LOVING YOUR ANIMAL STARTS WITH HAVING THEM SPAYED OR NEUTERED.... AND MAKING SURE THEY HAVE MEDICAL CARE FROM A LICENSED VETERINARIAN OR ANIMAL CARE CLINIC...THEY ARE MEMBERS OF YOUR FAMILY..... OWNERSHIP SHOULD NEVER BE TAKEN LIGHTLY.....IT IS A LIFE COMMITMENT.
