Southside Veterinary Hospital

I am new to Florida and had an urgent matter regarding my pet mouse. I called different clinics all morning and none treated mice. I called southside and they said they did! Not only that but they got me in right away. I was there an hour after I called. The dr came in and had a conversation with me regarding the situation (my mouse was attacked by a wild rat thru her cage bars) he was very kind and listened to everything I told him. I also mentioned I had ordered some antibiotics online but it wasn’t going to be here for a few days and was hoping to get her at least one dose of medicine so she had something in her system. (She has a systemic infection from the rat bite) the dr was more than kind and went above and beyond. Instead of charging me for a whole rx of medicine since I already ordered some, he agreed to give me a few days worth just to have until my meds arrived. He also said he wouldn’t charge me for that since it was such a small amount. The visit fee was also a lot less than I was expecting as well. Very happy and relieved to have found this clinic and the wonderful Dr here. My sweet little mouse will soon be on the mend ❤️‍🩹

Staff is always friendly and helpful. They helped me find a vet to care for my goats. Dr Kilpatrick always takes the time to sit down and explain Sadie's condition as well as optional treatments. I trust Southside and their care. They don't try to sell you anything and help to keep treatment within my budget.

They took my friends dog as an emergency. The vet had no problem answering our many questions.She had to end up being euthanized. They were so thoughtful and compassionate with both my friend and Kayla the dog. Helped make a really heartbreaking situation a little easier. The office was clean, neat. The lady at the front desk was so friendly. I will absolutely be taking my Luca there 🧡RIP KAYLA you surely are missed

I don’t even know what to say about this place anymore! I thought they were a kind staff, thorough and transparent- today I found out I was wrong. I called prior to scheduling because I wanted to find out a total cost for the annual plus vaccines to make sure it was something I could financially do all in one visit, they quoted me a cost of $250 and I leave there paying nearly $500 for an additional exam of the ears?! Which was not disclosed to me up front! It was even more upsetting when checking out that I explained this to the front desk lady and it fell of deaf ears.. she practically just stared at me, offering no apology or anything. The veterinarian is nice and seems very knowledgeable but they are obviously not truthful about fees. Will not be going back!

SCAMMERS - Call to schedule a shot for my puppy. Asked what the price was. Was told it would only be $36 dollars. Made appointment based on the price and information I was given. Brought her in. And they charged my card $116.50 without any notice. And then tried to tell me that it was for a wellness examination when they legitimately did not check my dog look at my dog all they did was glance at her, so where was the examination that I got charged an extra $70 for!?! My next step is to report them to the Better Business Bureau because this is ridiculous. It’s the principal of the when you tell somebody a price don’t just charge them whatever you feel like charging them without discussing it with them. Do not recommend this place not to mention the service was not the best. Felt like I was more of a bother than a valued customer first and last experience there.
