South Loop Animal Hospital

I brought my two kittens for their first vet appointment at South Loop Animal Hospital and the experience was nothing but excellent! The front desk was quick and informative. The vet techs and doctor answered all my questions and any behavioral issues I’ve noticed with my kittens. They caught quickly that one of my kittens had ear mites and did a free of charge in house ear cleaning. I paid for two ear mite revolution medication to prevent any further issues. They received their last booster kitten shots and said that if any ear problems persist with one of my kittens then to definitely come back in. My other kitten had some goopy and crusty eye build up I started to notice and they sent me home with some eyedrops and I could have the option of starting her on antibiotics to further help later if needed which I don’t think I will need. They handled my kittens with care and love and gave them churrus for their shots. They were comfortable and exploring the whole room during their visit which was super clean. The prices were all reasonable with the visit itself being around $96 per kitten and shots being around $54 each. Because I only plan on coming in for just an annual checkup & shots each year this is reasonable to me and I am glad to have a very caring doctor and vet techs in my neighborhood. They slept like babies when we got home and weren’t stressed or anything at all the whole experience. :) Thank you SLAH from this happy cat mom.

Very impressed with the level of service and affordable pricing of my new vet. Specifically, staff I interacted with including Dr Schwartz, Christine, and Chad were extremely warm & professional. Happy I found my new Chicago vet.

SLAH is easily the best vet I've ever been to. We've seen multiple doctors in the practice and had a wonderful experience with all of them. I have a super senior cat and she's not a fan of the vet (what cat is?) and they always take great care of her. In fact, I moved away from the neighborhood years ago but keep coming back because everyone here is lovely! I can't recommend them enough, especially for cat owners.

We’ve been taking our Standard Poodle here for 12 years now and have always received the most compassionate, considerate and knowledgable care. The entire staff is friendly and helpful, the hours are accommodating and the vets are passionate about their work. We could not ask for a better team to care for our baby!

I lucked up and called South Loop because my cat had an abscess. They had a same day opening, which is not usual (2wks for new clients is more common). There were 2 vets I ultimately worked with - Dr. Ojala then Dr. Skezak. Both were very compassionate and professional with her and me. The first appt available for the tooth extraction was 1.5 wks away, but Dr. Ojala said she'd see if things could be switched around. I don't know if it was that or a cancelation, but they called me 3 days later to get us in 5 days sooner than scheduled! After I dropped her off they called to say the machine for the surgery wasn't working properly. Rather than rescheduling, they asked if they could take her to East Side Animal Clinic for the procedure. Minor inconvenience but so not an issue...I was so appreciative that they had a plan that meant her surgery could still happen. I knew she was in pain. The next day, Dr. Slezak called me just to check in - see if she was eating, if she was draining, how she was doing. I don't think a vet has ever done that before. I was so touched. Glad I found this place! Already referred them to a friend.
