I took my cat here a few years ago because he was bleeding profusely from a blockage in his urinary tract. I was told it was a life or death situation and he needed emergency surgery. By the grace of God my mama had a care credit card I was able to use. Over $1200 for his surgery. My sweet boy lasted only a couple months later and passed away for “unknown” reasons. I truly believe this vet had something to do with his untimely death. And I’ve also spoken with multiple other people who have had horrific experiences here. But not only patients I’ve spoken to prior employees as well. They say Dr. Dudley’s practices are “questionable” and they wouldn’t recommend using her clinic. Don’t take your pets here. All she cares about is the money. Do yourself a favor and research the vets you take your animals too.

While specific details about the hospital's facilities and the full spectrum of their services are not explicitly provided in the given information, we can infer some aspects based on the category of "Pet Hospital" and the available customer reviews.

Typically, a pet hospital environment aims to be clean, comfortable, and equipped to handle various medical needs. This includes examination rooms for consultations, potential surgical suites for procedures, areas for housing and monitoring animals, and diagnostic equipment such as imaging tools and laboratory facilities. The goal is to create a space where pets can receive necessary care while minimizing stress. However, the provided information does not offer a visual or descriptive overview of the environment at South Granville Animal Hospital.

The services offered by a pet hospital generally encompass a wide array of medical, surgical, and preventative care. These can include routine check-ups and vaccinations, dental care, diagnostic testing (like blood work and imaging), surgical procedures (from routine spays and neuters to more complex operations), emergency care, and management of chronic illnesses. It is common for pet hospitals to also offer services such as microchipping, nutritional counseling, and end-of-life care. Without a specific list of services from South Granville Animal Hospital, we can only speculate based on the general offerings of a pet hospital.

Features that might distinguish one pet hospital from another can include the expertise and specialization of the veterinarians and staff, the availability of advanced medical technology, a focus on certain types of animals (e.g., small animals, exotic pets), emergency service availability (including after-hours care), and specific programs or approaches to pet care. It is essential to consider the experiences of other pet owners when evaluating a veterinary care provider. The provided reviews offer a glimpse into some customer experiences at South Granville Animal Hospital. One review recounts a critical situation involving a cat with a urinary blockage requiring emergency surgery, followed by the pet's death a few months later for "unknown" reasons. The reviewer expresses a strong negative sentiment, suggesting a belief that the vet's actions contributed to the pet's death and mentions speaking with others who have had "horrific experiences" and former employees who found Dr. Dudley's practices "questionable." This review strongly advises against taking pets to this clinic, alleging a primary focus on financial gain over patient care.

Another review details an experience perceived as lacking compassion and understanding for a dog. The reviewer felt their dog was not treated with patience or care, drawing a comparison to the negative experience a parent of a special needs child might face. This reviewer explicitly states they will not be returning to the office and contrasts their experience with the positive care received at the dog's daycare. The reviewer includes comments from the daycare report card highlighting their dog as a "sweetheart" and mentions being advised by the animal hospital staff to continue taking their dog to daycare if they were comfortable with him. This review raises concerns about the staff's compassion and training compared to untrained individuals at a daycare facility.

These reviews present serious allegations and negative feedback regarding the care, compassion, and ethical practices at South Granville Animal Hospital. It is important to note that these are individual experiences and may not represent the views of all pet owners who have used this clinic. However, these accounts should be considered carefully when making a decision about your pet's care.

Potential local users are strongly advised to consider these reviews and conduct further research, including seeking additional feedback and potentially visiting the facility or consulting with other pet owners, before entrusting their pet's health to South Granville Animal Hospital. You expect that a vets office would have compassion and understanding for animals. This one does not. I equate my experience yesterday with my dog at this office to a parent with a special needs child being shunned by a school or a caregiver. As a person we are taught to be kind and gentle, accept differences in people, be respectful. As a person that should always be true, but as a caregiver especially. There was no patience given. There was 0 effort. I'm happy that I won't be returning to this office. I attached a photo from my dogs daycare that they did on him. This is the dog that "WILL NEVER BOARD HERE". The comments on his report card-"I absolutely LOVE your dog", "he is a sweetheart". I was told that "since his daycare doesn't mind him there, that's where you should bring him". Who knew that a staff of untrained people would be more caring and compassionate than 1 trained individual.

I rarely write reviews but Dr. Dudley and staff are so wonderful I just had to post this. We have taken our family pets to South Granville Animal Hospital, as well as a ton of foster cats, both for routine care and more urgent issues. They are always excellent. If you are looking for a compassionate, experienced vet, who genuinely cares, this is the place! A few bonuses: they actually answer the phone, they are open on Saturdays, they use fear-free techniques with scaredy cats, and their fees are very reasonable!

Best vet ever!! Dr. Dudley is fantastic. There is not enough room for me to share all she has done for our "fur babies" over the years - including saving our first cat's life. She is one caring and special human being. Our family loves you and prays for you and your staff Dr. Dudley. Keep on providing excellent animal care to the community just like you have done for years!! You are the best!! Prov. 12:10 "The righteous man regardeth the life of his beast". We have another family member on board with her and he has gotten excellent service for his fur baby too. Thank you Dr. Dudley and staff!

I am beyond upset with Dr Dudley and South Granville Animal Hospital. I HAD been bringing my 2 furbabies here for many, many years. At first I was taken aback by the very old condition of the office. It tended to not be the cleanest. However, the doctor was amazing and really seemed to care. One of my furbabies had a nail injury and the office let me sit in the room while she was recovering as she had a hard time coming out of anesthesia. The office was obviously closing but they never mentioned it to me and just let us take our time. I appreciated having a trusted vet close by. I did not appreciate that they did not send a prescription request to Chewy for me so I could get their medications easier, but I let that slide because I did like the office. I wanted to put the positive in this review first because I am completely heartbroken at how our patient/doctor relationship has now ended. Our older furbaby had many, many issues and over the past few months we knew we were nearing her time to leave us. I decided to call our trusted vet to help us in her passing. They scheduled a Friday afternoon appointment. We had to wait 2 days but again, I wanted to bring her to this office. The day comes and we do our celebration of life at home with her. We put her in the car and drive to the vet, only to be welcomed to them telling us it was not going to happen. Why? Because the doctor had been sick for 2 days and was not in. This was at 3pm on Friday. I waited in the car while my husband was inside. He came out to tell me this information and then proceeded to tell me the receptionist said they had been trying to call me all day. I quickly check my phone, no record of any call from them. He goes back inside and she tries to call again but it's the WRONG PHONE NUMBER! Are you kidding me? They have the same phone number they have always had and I have never had an issue with them calling me. When the person answering the phone is not the same person you are calling, don't you get the hint?!?!?! So, on one of the saddest days of our life they bungled the entire thing! We left and went home to cry and hug our girl. I then called North Raleigh Mobile Vet and it was a blessing in disguise that this happened. Dr. Shannon Burroughs made it the most beautiful, at home experience. At least we had an outcome that was better than we could have expected. It was however NOT with South Granville Animal Hospital. We will NEVER take an animal here EVER again.
