Our dog, Lee is a rescue my youngest brought home. We've had him seen regularly at Somerset Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Penny & staff are EXCELLENT with abused animals. We believe the previous owner of Lee beat him with a crutch and did NOT care for the dog; so Lee was abandoned near our home area. Dr. Penny has gotten Lee back to the playful and healthy dog faster than any other vet!! We'll be visiting again soon for a rabies booster before end of Aug. I think the ENTIRE staff will be amazed in how healthy Lee is NOW!! This Veterinary Hospital is on Google maps, and is easy to travel to in the Somerset County area of PA. I would recommend any pet owner to go here to help there pets stay healthy & happy...

I tried to get an urgent (same day) appointment for my sick, 15 year old cat, Max at a local veterinarian in the Johnstown area, but was unable to. A friend had told me that she had taken her dog to Somerset Veterinary Hospital, so I called and received an appointment the next day. Max has had issues before and has been to the vets office in the past, but I must say, he was never provided with the level of care that this office gave him. Dr. Aversa was extremely thorough in his physical exam, x-ray & blood work to rule out any other causes/diseases. He was incredibly kind and compassionate, even when dealing with a “not real happy to be here” kitty. I even received a follow-up call the next day to check on Max, who is doing great! The entire staff exemplifies nothing but professionalism and kindness. It’s so to find a vet in this area that is truly good with cats and I believe that Dr. Aversa and the staff filled this void. I can’t recommend them enough. Thank you!

I currently live in Pittsburgh but choose to keep Dr. Penny as my Vet. for my dog and cat both. Her knowledge and concern for my animals make the 70 mile ride a no brainer!
