Yucaipa pet owners BEWARE! I gave them every opportunity to fix this before writing this review. I even told them I have 4 dogs and I was looking for a local vet to bring all my dogs to. Here's what happened: I brought my dog in for an eye injury. The doctor presecibed "Oculenis" eye drops. He gave me a written prescription and told me I could get it at Costco. I checked Costco, Sams Club, Walgreens, Petco, Petsmart and it was impossible for me to find locally. After spending 4 hours searching locally for the eye drops, in desperation, I ordered it through their online pharmacy, which would take about a week to receive, which I was not happy with, because my dog would suffer for a week. Imagine taking yourself to the emergency room for a bad infection, and the ER doctor prescribes antibiotics you have to wait a week for. I asked the receptionist if they could recommend substitute eye drops I could get locally, even over the counter, until my prescribed eye drops arrived in the mail, to prevent a week of my dog suffering or developing a worse condition. She told me I would need to bring my dog back and pay a $55 fee for my dog to be re-examined. This made no sense because the day before I paid nearly $300 for an eye exam. The receptionist had zero cares about my concern and deflected all my questions and refused to have the "owner" or any doctor call me, and had the attitude of "sorry, can't help you". She said the doctor that saw my pet was a "relief" doctor and cannot get in contact with him. To make matters worse, the receptionist had the nerve to refuse to approve the online order if I didn't return the original written prescription they gave me. Really? They are eye drops, not narcotics. I'm a lawyer. Did she think I was going to get a double prescription of eye drops and risk my law license? All this could have been avoided if they simply said "we will be happy to have the doctor call you to let you know if their are any alternative eye drops you can get locally, since the ones we prescribed are impossible to find". Side note: All other vets I've been to have made a followup call to see how my pet is doing. It's been 12 days since my pet was seen (as of the date of this edit), and I have received no followup call. What makes this more evil, is the receptionist didn't care that my dog would be suffering for a week while waiting for the eye drops in the mail. All I asked for was for them to recommend an over the counter eye drop while I waited a week for the prescription to arrive in the mail, because they prescribed something that was impossible to find locally, after telling me it's available at Costco, but instead of doing something so simple, they tried to squeeze another $55 out of me, even thought 24 hours earlier I paid almost $300 for a full exam. SHOCKING: Public records show that both Oak Glen Animal Hospital and Green Valley Veterinary Clinic were sold to a huge corporation / vet network called PETVET CARE CENTERS (CALIFORNIA), INC. If you look at their website, they buy small practices for cash, so vet hospitals such as these two, appear to be a small family run business, but are really owned by a huge corporation. No wonder I had such crappy service. Do your due diligence before choosing a vet, please.

Welcome to Oak Glen Animal Hospital
Welcome to an introduction of Oak Glen Animal Hospital, located at 33523 Oak Glen Rd, Yucaipa, CA 92399, USA. As a local Pet Hospital, Oak Glen Animal Hospital aims to provide veterinary care for your beloved animals. You can reach them at (909) 500-4350 or their mobile number +1 909-500-4350. To provide an objective overview, we will consider the experiences shared by recent customers online.
One pet owner from Yucaipa shared a concerning experience regarding the treatment of their dog's eye injury. According to this review, the veterinarian prescribed "Oculenis" eye drops and provided a written prescription, suggesting it could be obtained at Costco. However, the reviewer reported spending four hours searching at various local pharmacies and pet stores (Costco, Sams Club, Walgreens, Petco, Petsmart) without success. Faced with the unavailability of the prescribed medication locally, the owner opted to order it through the hospital's online pharmacy, which had a week-long delivery timeframe. Expressing concern about their dog suffering for a week, the owner inquired with the receptionist about potential substitute eye drops, even over-the-counter options, to use temporarily. The response received was a requirement to bring the dog back for a re-examination with a $55 fee, despite having paid nearly $300 for the initial eye exam the previous day. The reviewer felt that the receptionist was unhelpful, unwilling to have the owner or a doctor contact them, and stated that the prescribing doctor was a "relief" doctor who could not be reached. Adding to the frustration, the receptionist reportedly refused to approve the online order without the return of the original written prescription, despite the medication not being a controlled substance. The reviewer, identifying as a lawyer, found this request unreasonable. They felt the situation could have been resolved with a simple offer from the clinic to have a doctor recommend a local alternative while awaiting the mail-order prescription. The review also noted the absence of a follow-up call in the 12 days since the pet was seen.
Another piece of information from online public records, shared by a different reviewer, indicates that Oak Glen Animal Hospital, along with Green Valley Veterinary Clinic, was reportedly sold to a large corporation named PETVET CARE CENTERS (CALIFORNIA), INC. This reviewer suggested that while the hospital might appear to be a small, family-run business, it is actually owned by a large corporate entity. This information led the reviewer to attribute their negative service experience to this corporate ownership and advised others to conduct thorough research before choosing a vet.
In contrast to these negative accounts, another customer reported a positive experience. This reviewer's dog had an abscessed thorn in its paw. They called the clinic in the morning and were able to secure a same-day appointment for 1 PM. They found the receptionist to be kind and welcoming both on the phone and in person. The reviewer also noted that the veterinarian and the technician were informative and caring with their dog. Based on this experience, this customer highly recommended the office.
Considering these varying perspectives, it appears that experiences at Oak Glen Animal Hospital can differ. One customer encountered significant issues with obtaining a prescribed medication locally and felt the clinic's response was unhelpful and aimed at generating additional fees. This individual also highlighted a lack of follow-up care. Another source suggests a change in ownership to a large corporation, which the reviewer linked to negative service. On the other hand, a different customer had a positive experience with same-day care for an urgent issue, finding the staff to be kind and the veterinary care to be informative and caring.
As a Pet Hospital, Oak Glen Animal Hospital likely offers a range of veterinary services. Based on the limited information available in these reviews, we can infer they provide:
- Examinations for illnesses and injuries (e.g., eye injuries, abscesses).
- Prescription medication dispensing (though the availability and process seem to be a point of contention in one review).
- Potential for online pharmacy services.
- Surgical or procedural care (as implied by the treatment of an abscess).
Features mentioned in the reviews include:
- Convenient location (according to one positive aspect from the negative review).
- Potentially kind and welcoming receptionist (according to the positive review).
- Informative and caring vet and tech (according to the positive review).
- Reported corporate ownership (PETVET CARE CENTERS (CALIFORNIA), INC.).
No specific promotional information was included in the provided text. Therefore, we cannot comment on any current offers or discounts.
For local pet owners in Yucaipa, CA, considering Oak Glen Animal Hospital, it is advisable to weigh these contrasting experiences. While one customer reported significant issues with medication access and customer service, another had a positive experience with urgent care. The information regarding a change in ownership to a large corporation might also be a factor for some pet owners to consider. It may be beneficial to inquire directly with Oak Glen Animal Hospital about their current services, policies regarding prescriptions, and any other concerns you might have based on these reviews.
In summary, Oak Glen Animal Hospital in Yucaipa, CA, has received mixed reviews online. While one customer praised their same-day service and caring staff, another detailed a frustrating experience with obtaining prescribed medication and perceived poor customer service. Additionally, public records reportedly indicate a change in ownership to a large veterinary corporation. Local users should consider these different perspectives when making a decision about their pet's care.

Dec 06, 2024 · lizette loeraI recently lost my fur baby. Before he passed, we took him to this hospital. The doctor tried to prolong his life with medicine, but God had other plans. We took him back for cremation services, and they were very caring. I went to pick up his ashes today, and they were very nice. They game us a card signed by all employees, a print of his paw and his ashes in a beautiful urn wrapped in a beautiful bag. It was very hard to go and get his ashes, but the care they gave to us and our baby dog is priceless. Thank you so much for being there for us. May God bless you. Sincerely, Sandra DeBisschop.
Oct 04, 2024 · Sandra DeBisschopI had initially hoped to give this place a higher rating because I believe the dog received adequate treatment. However, I was disappointed by the fact that the initial and follow-up check-ups were never conducted in front of us. As animals cannot speak for themselves, I was seeking exceptional treatment rather than just good treatment. Furthermore, they also forgot about us in the room for a few hours, which added to my overall dissatisfaction.
Jul 11, 2023 · Kristi MunozI have no stars for this facility. I had to mark one so I could post this. Way over priced to a degree! The person I delt with who was supposed to be a Dr...... admitidly did not know how to do that procedure. PLUS it was going to cost well over $2,000. Admittedly didn't know how to read an x-ray and suggested that if this procedure didn't work that I consider an amputation on my 2yr old cat. Maybe the other actual Dr.'s know their business... they are definetly outrages in what they charge for services. So sad. I will stop there. Be aware
