I have taken my dog, Polly, here for many years and I can’t say enough good things about them. From yearly exams and vaccines, to seasonal ear infections, and a surgery to remove a mast cell tumor, they have always been extremely kind, understanding, and gentle with my anxious dog. They truly care about what they do and it shows in how they treat their patients.

Services

Monett Veterinary Hospital offers a comprehensive range of veterinary services, encompassing everything from routine preventative care to complex surgical procedures and emergency interventions. Their broad service offerings are designed to address the diverse health needs of dogs and cats throughout their lives:

  • Preventative and Wellness Care: This forms the cornerstone of their practice, including yearly exams and vaccinations tailored to the individual needs of each pet. They emphasize proactive health management to prevent illnesses and maintain optimal well-being. This would also typically include parasite prevention and control.
  • Emergency and After-Hours Services: A standout feature, as highlighted by a client review, is their willingness and capability to perform emergency surgeries "after hours." This is a crucial service for pets facing life-threatening conditions, demonstrating their commitment to being available when it matters most.
  • Surgical Procedures: The clinic is equipped to perform various surgeries, from common procedures like spaying and neutering to more complex operations, such as the "surgery to remove a mast cell tumor" mentioned in a review. Their experience with these procedures, including successful outcomes for large breed and senior dogs, builds significant client trust.
  • Diagnosis and Treatment of Illnesses: They capably handle a wide array of medical conditions, from common issues like "seasonal ear infections" to more serious diagnoses. Their ability to provide thorough care for a "special needs dog" with "seizure and congestive heart failure diagnosis" speaks to their expertise in managing chronic and complex health issues.
  • Diagnostic Services: While not explicitly detailed, a modern veterinary hospital would utilize various diagnostic tools, including in-house laboratory testing (blood work, urinalysis, fecal exams) and imaging (X-rays, and potentially ultrasound) to accurately diagnose conditions.
  • Dental Care: Good oral hygiene is vital for overall health. A comprehensive clinic would offer professional dental cleanings and other necessary dental procedures.
  • Behavioral Support: Their gentle handling of "anxious dog" patients suggests an understanding of pet behavior and a commitment to making veterinary visits less stressful. This could extend to offering advice on managing anxiety or other behavioral challenges.
  • Senior Pet Care: The successful care of an "age 11 large breed" dog, Lola, highlights their capability in managing the specific health needs of senior pets, which often involve complex conditions.
  • Pain Management: While not specifically mentioned, effective pain management is a critical component of post-surgical care and managing chronic conditions, which a compassionate clinic would prioritize.

Monett Veterinary Hospital is distinguished by several key features that resonate deeply with its clientele:

  • Exceptional Compassion and Understanding: This is perhaps their most prominent feature. Clients repeatedly commend the staff, including Dr. Erin Carnes and Memory, for being "extremely kind, understanding, and gentle." The emotional support provided during difficult times, such as when an owner was "scared to death" about an emergency, is highly valued.

We've been going to Monett Vet Hospital for about 5 years now. I can truly say that Dr Erin Carnes and Memory saved my girls life! I was scared to death with the emergency that happened with her and even more worried about her survival with the surgery that was needed. Memory talked with me thru my tears and explained everything and reassured me they do these surgerie quite often and that everything would be ok, which meant the world when you're so scared. If it was not for them coming in after hours and doing her surgery- my precious old lady Lola (large breed, age 11) would not be with us today! Their staff is amazing and I will always suggest them to anyone! I trust their judgement, advice and I never hesitate to leave Lola in their care if it's ever needed. Wonderful people and I'm forever grateful for the extra time they gave us with our sweet angel girl! Thank you ladies and staff, from the bottom of my heart!

The problem was caught at the early stage and the medication they prescribed helped him to full recovery.. I am forever Thankful. Special thanks to Maddie who guided me on how to give/feed the meds through the feeding tube..once again THANKS

Our cat, Penny, wasn't doing well for the past week or two. She didn't have a dedicated vet, but MVH was able to get her in the same day I called them and was able to determine that she was in the late stages of kidney failure, so we decided to have her put to sleep instead of her suffering until she passed away. MVH was very caring and accommodating with us and letting us have plenty of time to say our goodbyes. Thank you MVH.

I can not rave enough about how incredibly fantastic Dr Black, and Dr Erin are. Their knowledge and expertise literally saved our fur baby. We had to visit Monett from South FL for an event and unexpectedly had to tote our 80 lbs extremely sick Labradoodle that was just released from emergency care, with little to no issue explanation of his diagnosis. We spent over $4,000 in FL and little info. We made the cross country trip as quickly as possible with a quarantined appointment with DR Black once we arrived. Instantly she took action, assured us we could safely take our baby home and return the next morning with a diagnosis and continued treatment plan that instantly began to reverse our baby back to his usual self. We could not be more thankful for their quick action but mostly their knowledge and experience. They have continued to assist with shipping medications to us back in S. Florida. I can personally guarantee you are in the best hands at this clinic and the cost is as fair as humanly possible. ❤️
