Dr. Quinby and Mrs. Debbie (her vet tech) recently made a house call to care for my 14 yr old OTTB " Valor" who was showing signs of EPM. Valor was was not steady enough to make it up the hill for evaluation this time so Dr. Quinby and Mrs. Debbie agreed go to him (down a treacherous and muddy trail). They were both simply amazing and I enjoyed watching them work well as a team focusing on Valor, evaluating everything he did/didn't do very thoroughly and discussing it amungst themselves. They didn't rush or over look a single thing!! Though very sick and very unstable, Valor loved and trusted them both. Dr. Quinby, Mrs. Debbie and Mobile Horse Doc will be Valor's care team for remainder of his days here at Noelani Farms in Broken Arrow, Ok. I HIGHLY reccomend this vet team!! 5 STARS!!!

Welcome to Mobile Horse Doc: Erica Wallace, DVM

Mobile Horse Doc: Erica Wallace, DVM, based out of 1370 N 240 Rd, Mounds, OK 74047, USA, operates as a specialized 'Pet Hospital' within the context of equine veterinary care. Unlike traditional stationary clinics, Mobile Horse Doc offers the unique and highly beneficial service of providing veterinary care directly to horses at their location. This mobile model is particularly advantageous for large animals like horses, eliminating the stress and logistical challenges associated with transporting them to a clinic. The practice can be reached via phone at (918) 549-0333 or +1 918-549-0333, ensuring accessibility for horse owners in need of routine or emergency services.

Environment and Operational Model

The primary "environment" of Mobile Horse Doc is the client's own farm, ranch, or stable. This fundamental aspect dictates the practice's operational model. Instead of a fixed facility, Dr. Erica Wallace and her team, including skilled vet techs like Mrs. Debbie, travel directly to where the horses are located. This mobile approach means they are equipped to handle a wide array of veterinary procedures on-site, adapting to various farm settings. This adaptability is a significant benefit, especially for horses that are too ill, injured, or simply too large and anxious to be trailered. The team navigates different terrains and conditions, as exemplified by their willingness to go "down a treacherous and muddy trail" to reach a sick horse. Their mobile unit is essentially a fully equipped veterinary clinic on wheels, containing necessary diagnostic tools, medications, and supplies to perform examinations, treatments, and even minor surgical procedures in the field. This model prioritizes the comfort and minimal stress for the animal, allowing them to remain in their familiar surroundings during examinations and treatments. The commitment to a calm and thorough approach, even in challenging environments, is a hallmark of their service.

Services Offered

Mobile Horse Doc: Erica Wallace, DVM, offers a comprehensive range of veterinary services tailored specifically for horses, delivered directly to the animal's location. As a 'Pet Hospital' for equines, their offerings cover both preventive care and acute medical needs. Key services include:

  • Routine Check-ups and Wellness Exams: This includes thorough physical examinations to assess the overall health of the horse, identify potential issues early, and ensure long-term well-being.
  • Vaccinations: Administration of essential vaccinations to protect horses against common and serious equine diseases.
  • Parasite Control: Development and implementation of deworming protocols to manage internal parasites, which are crucial for equine health.
  • Emergency Services: A critical offering for a mobile practice, responding to urgent situations such as colic, injuries, lameness, or sudden illness. The ability to provide immediate on-site care can be life-saving for horses in critical condition.
  • Diagnosis and Treatment of Illnesses: This encompasses a wide range of conditions, from infectious diseases to metabolic disorders. A notable example from a customer review is the treatment of EPM (Equine Protozoal Myeloencephalitis), a complex neurological disease. Their thorough evaluation processes, as described in the review, ensure that all symptoms are meticulously assessed.
  • Lameness Examinations: Diagnosis and management of various causes of lameness, which can significantly impact a horse's performance and quality of life.
  • Minor Field Procedures: While complex surgeries typically require a referral to a specialized equine surgical facility, many routine and minor procedures can be performed safely and effectively on the farm.
  • Health Certificates and Coggins Testing: Essential for interstate travel and participation in many equine events.
  • Geriatric Horse Care: Specific attention and management plans for older horses, who often have unique health needs.
  • Hospice and End-of-Life Care: Providing compassionate care and support for horses nearing the end of their lives, including humane euthanasia when necessary, often in the comfort of their familiar environment.

The personalized nature of their mobile service allows for a deeper understanding of each horse's individual environment and needs, leading to more tailored and effective treatment plans.

Features and Customer Experience

The standout feature of Mobile Horse Doc is its mobile nature, bringing expert veterinary care directly to the horse. This convenience is invaluable for horse owners, saving them time, effort, and reducing stress on their animals. The team, particularly Dr. Quinby (presumably an associate or referring to Dr. Wallace in a different context, given the context of the mobile service) and Mrs. Debbie, are consistently praised for their professionalism, thoroughness, and compassionate approach. One glowing review highlights their ability to "work well as a team focusing on Valor, evaluating everything he did/didn't do very thoroughly and discussing it amongst themselves. They didn't rush or overlook a single thing!!" This speaks to a methodical and dedicated approach to diagnosis and treatment.

Another key feature is the trust and comfort that horses reportedly show towards the veterinary team. Despite being "very sick and very unstable," Valor "loved and trusted them both," which is a testament to the team's gentle handling and calm demeanor. This is crucial for effective veterinary care, especially with large animals where cooperation is vital. The practice is highly recommended for both emergency situations and routine care, indicating their versatility and reliability. Customers express deep gratitude for their availability and the quality of care provided, emphasizing that they are "very caring, wonderful vet." The willingness to go above and beyond, such as navigating difficult terrain for a house call, further underscores their commitment to patient care. The long-term relationships formed with clients, as evidenced by a horse being under their care for the "remainder of his days," highlight the trust and satisfaction they build within the equine community.

Promotional Information and Client Testimonials

While the provided information does not include explicit promotional campaigns, the strongest "promotional" aspect of Mobile Horse Doc: Erica Wallace, DVM, comes directly from the overwhelmingly positive customer testimonials. The high praise, including a "HIGHLY recommend this vet team!!!" and a "5 STARS!!!" rating, serves as powerful word-of-mouth promotion. The detailed account of Dr. Quinby and Mrs. Debbie's compassionate and thorough care for Valor, even under challenging conditions, effectively showcases the practice's dedication and expertise. Dr. Wallace has always taken exceptional care of my horses and always gives all the facts, information and options. She recently got my mare pregnant- for the second time- after being told by any vets she consulted with that the chance of this happening would be extremely against all odds. She goes above and beyond every time.

Doc Wallace is very nice and informative. Easy to make timely appointments. Affordable and absolutely great that she comes to you and can see your horses in the comfort of their own home :) Saves a lot of time/stress not loading them up to go to the vet.
