Reviews consistently highlight the "calming nature of the staff" and commend the team for treating animals "very good." This emphasis on a positive and compassionate demeanor from the moment a client walks in contributes significantly to reducing stress for pets, particularly those who may be anxious about veterinary visits. The goal is to ensure pets remain calm, allowing for more effective examinations and treatments. Furthermore, the practice philosophy focuses solely on the medical needs of their patients, choosing not to offer boarding or grooming services to maintain a concentrated effort on veterinary care. This specialization can lead to a more streamlined and focused environment dedicated to medical excellence. The cohesive and positive staff culture also enhances the overall welcoming and supportive atmosphere of the hospital.
Middlesex County Animal Hospital offers a comprehensive suite of veterinary services, addressing a full spectrum of pet health needs. Their offerings are broadly categorized into General Wellness, Diagnostic Services, and Surgical Services. Under General Wellness, they provide essential preventive care, including annual dental exams and cleanings to ward off health problems stemming from poor oral hygiene. They offer guidance on diet and nutrition, crucial for preventing disease and maintaining a healthy weight. Year-round parasite control for fleas, ticks, and heartworms is emphasized, safeguarding pets from damaging infestations. Routine wellness and preventive care exams are conducted annually to detect issues early and ensure long, healthy lives. Vaccinations are also a vital part of their preventive strategy, protecting against harmful diseases. Additionally, they offer microchipping services, a reliable method for reuniting lost pets with their owners.
Diagnostic capabilities at Middlesex County Animal Hospital are advanced, aiding in precise and timely diagnoses. They utilize diagnostic ultrasounds for evaluating heart conditions, internal organs, cysts, tumors, and even diagnosing pregnancy. Endoscopy is available as a useful medical imaging tool for examining internal organs or obtaining biopsies without invasive surgery. Electrocardiography (EKG) is used to measure and evaluate the electrical activity of the heart, helping to diagnose potential cardiac conditions. Radiography (digital X-rays) is routinely performed to identify various illnesses or injuries. Comprehensive laboratory services enable quick and accurate diagnostic testing, allowing for prompt treatment initiation. This extensive range of diagnostic tools ensures that veterinarians have the necessary information to make informed decisions about a pet's care.
The hospital's Surgical Services department is well-equipped to handle a wide range of procedures. They perform spay and neuter surgeries, which are crucial for pet population control and can contribute to a longer, healthier life for the animal by minimizing behavioral issues and certain health risks. Soft tissue surgery is routinely performed for non-joint or bone-related medical reasons. Significantly, Middlesex County Animal Hospital also offers orthopedic surgery, addressing complex issues like joint problems, torn ligaments, broken bones, and even congenital conditions. Beyond these core services, they provide fertility testing, including examinations of reproductive organs and physical assessments, and offer travel certificates for domestic travel, showcasing a broad scope of care that extends beyond basic medical needs.

May 22, 2025 · Melissa IsabelleI brought my one year old kitty in because he had been limping. The entire staff from the minute you walk in is just amazing. My Ziggy was treated very good and was so calm due to the calming nature of the staff.
Mar 05, 2025 · Dawn LordanMiddlesex County Animal Hospital is THE BEST! All of the staff are so good with my dog, who used to get freaked out going to the vet, and they listen to me when I make suggestions. It's a really comfortable, comforting experience for both of us. They genuinely care. I just wish they were open on Saturdays too! Highly recommend them and am willing to drive 30 min to go there because I value them so much.
Apr 18, 2025 · Kathryn WheelerOur Tobias loves MCAH!! Just not the very brief trip in the car! Staff is very welcoming, professional, clean facility, friendly medical staff. Tobias sees Dr. Upton-she is wonderful…even though he stays frozen still on exam, he loves her! And Lia, her Nurse, is delightful. Thank you for caring and loving all the furbabies that enter your doors.
Nov 16, 2024 · Anne MarchKrystle went in to be spayed. Front desk was so nice and calming to this nervous momma, was escorted back into an exam room. Surgery went well and Krystle did great. Picked her up staff member came out to go over all post op instructions including meds. Got a call the next day to check on her. All questions answered! Suggestion to get a recovery suit cause Krystle was extremely stressed with the cone and managed to remove the donut. The recovery suit is amazing. Thank you for taking great care of our baby girl.
