I could write a novel about the rude, condescending people here. They only seem to care about selling puppy classes. They have no compassion for animals as displayed by the way they jam needles into the dogs with no attempts to distract or comfort them. The last straw was how a gal there dragged my 5 month old, tiny puppy on a choker leash while he screamed in terror. I had to yell at her to stop. Nobody cared or apologized. I was told she felt bad and was more of a cat lady.

Welcome to McMinnville Veterinary Hospital

Introducing McMinnville Veterinary Hospital, located at 2001 NE Lafayette Ave, McMinnville, OR 97128, USA. Operating under the platform category of 'Pet Hospital', McMinnville Veterinary Hospital can be contacted at (503) 472-6184 or their mobile number +1 503-472-6184. Reviews from pet owners present serious concerns regarding the practices and staff of this establishment.

One reviewer expressed strong dissatisfaction, stating they "could write a novel about the rude, condescending people here." This individual felt that the clinic's primary focus seemed to be on selling puppy classes. Furthermore, they alleged a lack of compassion for animals, describing how needles were reportedly administered to dogs without any attempts at distraction or comfort. The reviewer's breaking point was witnessing a staff member allegedly drag their five-month-old, tiny puppy on a choker leash while the puppy "screamed in terror." When the reviewer intervened and yelled for the person to stop, they claim that "Nobody cared or apologized." The explanation given was reportedly that the staff member "felt bad and was more of a cat lady." This account raises significant concerns about the treatment of animals and the professionalism of the staff.

Another reviewer went even further, advising others to "Avoid this establishment at all costs," stating, "Your pets are not safe here." This individual mentioned that while one veterinarian was considered "wonderful," they had a troubling experience with a dog sent in for surgery the previous year. Upon picking up their dog, they reportedly learned that the procedure they were supposed to have done was not even performed, yet they were still charged for it. This reviewer also claimed that "The staff leaves for good reason" and indicated they had found another animal hospital they could trust, recommending others to do the same. They concluded by stating that "The rumors are true what are spread about this 'hospital'," suggesting a negative local reputation.

These two reviews paint a concerning picture of McMinnville Veterinary Hospital, highlighting allegations of rude and condescending staff, a perceived lack of compassion in animal handling, potentially unsafe practices like dragging a puppy on a choker leash, and instances of being charged for services not rendered. These accounts strongly suggest a need for potential local users to exercise caution and consider these experiences shared by other pet owners.

Environment:

Based on the negative reviews, the environment at McMinnville Veterinary Hospital is portrayed as potentially stressful and uncaring for animals. Key concerns raised include:

  • Rude and Condescending Staff: Creating a negative atmosphere for pet owners.
  • Lack of Compassion in Animal Handling: Allegations of painful procedures without comfort and rough handling.
  • Potentially Unsafe Practices: As described by the incident with the choker leash.

These descriptions suggest an environment that may not prioritize the comfort and well-being of the animals being treated.

Services Offered:

As a 'Pet Hospital', McMinnville Veterinary Hospital likely offers a range of veterinary services, which typically include:

  • Surgery (as mentioned in one of the negative reviews). However, the quality and accuracy of these services are questioned.
  • Puppy classes (highlighted as a potential primary focus by one reviewer).
  • General medical care for pets. However, the alleged lack of compassion in administering treatments is a concern.

The negative feedback casts doubt on the quality and ethical delivery of these standard veterinary services.

Features of McMinnville Veterinary Hospital:

Based on the provided feedback, it is difficult to identify positive features. Instead, the reviews highlight significant negative aspects:

  • Allegedly rude and condescending staff.
  • Reported lack of compassion in animal handling.
  • Questionable billing practices (charging for services not performed).
  • Potentially unsafe animal handling techniques.

One positive aspect mentioned indirectly is that there is reportedly one "wonderful" veterinarian, but this is overshadowed by the other significant concerns raised.

Promotional Information:

Given the severely negative nature of the available reviews, it is unlikely that any standard promotional efforts would outweigh these experiences. Any potential promotional messaging from the hospital would need to be considered in light of the serious allegations made by former clients. Typically, a veterinary hospital might promote its caring staff, quality medical care, and range of services. However, the reviews here directly contradict such claims.

In conclusion, the available reviews for McMinnville Veterinary Hospital in McMinnville, OR, paint a concerning picture. Allegations of rude and condescending staff, a lack of compassion in animal handling, questionable billing practices, and potentially unsafe handling techniques are serious issues raised by former clients. Local users seeking a 'Pet Hospital' are strongly advised to carefully consider these accounts and potentially seek veterinary care elsewhere, as suggested by one of the reviewers who felt their pets were not safe at this establishment. The negative feedback significantly outweighs any potential positive aspects that might typically be associated with a veterinary hospital.

Avoid this establishment at all costs. Your pets are not safe here. One Vet is is wonderful. My dog sent in for a surgery last year, when I picked him up, a learned the didn't even touch what they were supposed to do. Yet I was charged for it. The staff leaves for good reason. I have found another animal hospital I can trust. I think you should all do the same. The rumors are true what are spread about this "hospital".

Not 5 Stars! I booked an exam for both my cats dropped them off (because I was not allowed in the exam room). We adopted our 9 year old cat, that was abused as a kitten. He has severe anxiety. There was a power outage in McMinnville, the vet clinic tried to keep both my cats overnight because they “couldn’t process payment due to power outage” I offered cash, Venmo, Zelle etc. They refused and held my cats. Luckily the power turned back on right before their office closed and I got both my cats back that day. When I finally got my cats after multiple hours, my cats eye was covered in topical flea treatment that they applied incorrectly(to my abused cat) 😭 This veterinary clinic is a JOKE!

Compassionate and caring staff, they took great care of my dog, his surgery went well and I can only say how thankful I am for them. My guy is old and they may have given me a little more time to love him. I highly recommend them.

This place gets a ZERO. I brought my 6 yr old dog in because he had been vomiting for several days and refusing all food & treats. They were more concerned about selling us flea meds than actually taking care of our beloved family member. He really needed to be given IV fluids and antibiotics but they refused. They gave him a shot of fluids and anti vomit meds and sent him home. That was on a Friday afternoon and he died the following Monday morning. I will NOT be recommending this place. I had tried to get him into emergency vet in Salem Sunday night, but they were so booked up they couldn’t get him in right away. They told us he would need to be hospitalized (IV fluids & antibiotics). However they would only be able to start it then would have to send him back to regular vet office because they closed at 8am (we were there at 11:30pm until 1:30am and he still hadn’t been taken inside). He was already too gone by that point. He died in my arms before we could take him in later that morning.
