I've known Bob McCrory for over 60 years. Bob is constantly thinking about his profession. He is a very caring man, he's been practicing veterinary medicine longer than I've been alive. Bob is an Old School Veterinarian. Who knows how to determine what's wrong with your treasured family pet without all the fancy over priced machinery these new vets would be lost without. He was a graduate of Auburn University's Veterinary Medical School. His sweet wife, Linda has been his right arm every step of the way. He knows his Stuff! However Bob is getting up in years, and many people feel more comfortable with these newer Vets. But nothing out preforms Experience!!! Bob has a Lifetime of that! These young Veterinarians have fancier offices, newer, more expensive microscopes & x-Ray machines, but they just don't have Bob's decades of experience. Trust me, Bob's Lifetime of Small & Large Animal Experience puts him far and away at a Higher Level than any recent graduate could ever guess at anywhere in Marshall County!!! The McCrory family has been a stable, reliable, helpful Church going family and a Rock of Benton and Marshall County for over 60+ years. If Bob can't fix it, he'll tell you where you can go to get it fixed. He's a no nonsense kind of Doc, with a wonderful sense of Humor! You can't go wrong with Bob McCrory!!!

Services Provided by McCrory Robert G DVM

As a seasoned "Pet Hospital," McCrory Robert G DVM offers a range of veterinary services, underpinned by Dr. McCrory's vast experience in both small and large animal care. While a detailed list of every specific service might not be publicly cataloged in the same manner as larger, multi-veterinarian practices, the core of their offerings would typically include:

  • Diagnosis and Treatment of Illnesses: Dr. McCrory's primary expertise lies in his ability to accurately diagnose and treat various ailments in animals, often relying on his extensive knowledge and observational skills without immediate recourse to advanced diagnostic machinery. This "no nonsense" approach aims to get to the root of the problem efficiently.

  • Small Animal Care: This includes general health check-ups, vaccinations, parasite control, and treatment for common conditions affecting household pets like dogs and cats.

  • Large Animal Care: A significant distinguishing factor is Dr. McCrory's experience with large animals, suggesting services for livestock, horses, and other farm animals, which requires a distinct set of skills and knowledge compared to small animal practice.

  • Consultation and Referrals: A key aspect of Dr. McCrory's practice, as highlighted by a reviewer, is his willingness to advise clients on where to go if a particular issue falls outside his immediate scope or requires specialized intervention. This demonstrates his commitment to ensuring animals receive the necessary care, even if it means referring them elsewhere.

  • Preventative Medicine: While the emphasis is on experience-based diagnostics, preventative care such as vaccinations and regular wellness checks would still be a fundamental part of the practice to maintain animal health.

  • General Veterinary Procedures: This would likely include basic surgical procedures, wound care, and other common interventions that fall within the scope of a highly experienced general practitioner.

The strength of Dr. McCrory's services lies in his decades of practical experience, which allows for intuitive and often rapid assessments of animal health issues, a quality highly valued by many pet owners.

They’re such sweet people with good intentions. Times have changed. My dog appeared to be fine just “internally sneezing like pugs do. We knew something was wrong and planned to take her to another vet in the morning. She passed away that night.

When I called for help when my cat was weak and lethargic and not eating, he told me to call another vet. They said they felt like he needed better care than they could provide in their old age. I just don't understand why you'd keep the business open if you won't help sick animals, I thought that's what veterinarians did for a living.

Don't go here!!! He was a nice man but its time he retires! Very aggressive with the treatment of the animals. Had my cat spayed there and her stiches opened up leaving a hole in her stomach. He put staples in her without even numbing her. It became infected and the meds he gave her he gave us no exact measurement for. Thank goodness I took her to another vet for second opinion. Was told that meds he gave is could have overdosed the cat and actually don't treat infections. If you want your animal to live don't go here!!!

Dr. McCrory and his wife are the friendliest folks you will know. I have bought flea & tick and heart worm prevention from them for years. If you didn't know the doctor is also a writer and we sell his books at the Co-OP. Well worth the read!
