Known for its commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate pet care, the clinic has been serving the community since 1991, establishing itself as a long-standing and trusted partner in animal health.
The core philosophy of Locust Grove Animal Clinic revolves around the belief that pets are integral members of the family, and as such, deserve the very best care. This principle guides every aspect of their operation, from the medical services they offer to the way they interact with clients. The clinic strives to create an environment where professionalism, compassion, and a personalized approach converge, aiming to make every visit as comfortable and reassuring as possible for both animals and their guardians.
The environment at Locust Grove Animal Clinic generally aims to be welcoming and functional, catering to a diverse range of animals, including not only common household pets like canine and feline patients but also large animals such as bovine, porcine, and equine. While specific details about the waiting area or examination rooms are not extensively publicized, a clinic that has been operational since 1991 would typically prioritize cleanliness, organized spaces, and facilities equipped to handle various animal sizes and needs. The emphasis on compassionate care suggests an atmosphere where staff members are attentive and gentle with animals, helping to minimize stress during examinations and procedures. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, which is crucial for modern veterinary diagnostics and treatments.
At the heart of Locust Grove Animal Clinic is its dedicated team, led by Dr. David Fleming. Dr. Fleming's passion for helping animals began at a young age, reportedly at just 11 years old. He pursued his dream by attending Oklahoma State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Animal Science & Veterinary Medicine degrees. His favorite aspect of being a veterinarian is the direct interaction and work with the animals themselves. He is supported by a team of committed individuals, including veterinary assistants and receptionists, who collectively contribute to the clinic's mission. For instance, Kayla Hulvey, a vet assistant since March 2018, is driven by her passion to make a difference for animals, assisting Dr. Fleming with procedures, administering medicine, and performing blood draws. Emily Hardy and Buffy Gaddy, both receptionists and sometimes vet assistants, are noted for their outgoing personalities, ensuring clients are greeted with a smile and friendly interaction, contributing to the clinic's sunshine and family-like feel. This collaborative effort among the staff is crucial in providing holistic care.

May 20, 2025 · T BExcellent service at the front desk. Dr. Fleming was very good with my cat. Very thorough exam, imaging and testing was performed. Dr. Fleming has great diagnostic skills. He is extremely knowledgeable and explains things in understandable terms. I drive from Tulsa because this office is exceptional. Highly recommend. Thank you for helping my little cat....El Gato!
Feb 01, 2024 · Darin KatsI found a severely injured dog on the side of the road while traveling. This clinic was the closest to where I found him. The first question they asked was, "Are you going to be responsible for it?" I told them I could not as I was just passing through. They said they couldn't do anything then. I asked if they knew where the closest animal shelter was, and they said, "Maybe Pryor?" The lack of compassion for the bleeding animal in their lobby was compounded by their lack of knowledge of available services nearby. They offered nothing to the injured dog. Not a quick triage, not a bowl of water, no offer to scan for a microchip, they wouldn't even come out from behind the front desk. If I lived here, I would never trust my pet to people so calloused and unprofessional. Even if they couldn't fully treat the dog, they could have helped SOMEHOW. But they did nothing. Absolutely shameful.
