Scheduled this appointment weeks in advance. Brought 5 puppies in for their first vet visit, they only had microchips for 3. They did not call ahead to let me know. Was given a quote during scheduling and at checkout there was an additional unquoted charge. Overall energy of the staff was negative, the price was high, the appointment was rushed, and I'm not satisfied with how my puppies were handled. Our closer and preferred vet was booked a month out so we gave this clinic a try. Would not recommend.

Welcome to Litchfield Veterinary Clinic
Welcome to the introduction of Litchfield Veterinary Clinic, operating as a local Pet Hospital situated at 1101 S Sibley Ave, Litchfield, MN 55355, USA. You can reach them via phone at (320) 693-6961 or their mobile number +1 320-693-6961. As a Pet Hospital, Litchfield Veterinary Clinic aims to provide essential healthcare services and potentially offer related goods for the well-being of your animal companions within the Litchfield community and surrounding areas.
Based on publicly available information, including customer reviews, it is important for local users to have a comprehensive understanding of what to expect when considering Litchfield Veterinary Clinic for their pet care needs. While the clinic positions itself as a provider of veterinary services, the recent feedback online presents a mixed picture regarding the overall customer experience.
Environment:
While specific details about the clinic's physical environment (e.g., cleanliness, comfort, waiting area) are not explicitly mentioned in the provided information, the negative reviews hint at potential issues that might impact the perceived environment. One review mentions a rushed appointment and dissatisfaction with how puppies were handled, which could suggest a less than ideal atmosphere for both pet owners and their animals. Local users may want to consider these comments when evaluating the clinic's environment and how it might affect their pet's comfort and their own experience during visits.
Services:
The information provided indicates that Litchfield Veterinary Clinic offers a range of veterinary services, as is typical for a Pet Hospital. One customer specifically mentioned scheduling an appointment for multiple teeth extractions for their dog, suggesting that the clinic provides dental care services. Additionally, another review mentions bringing puppies in for their first vet visit and microchipping, indicating that the clinic offers routine check-ups and identification services. However, the discrepancy in the number of microchips provided compared to the number of puppies brought in raises concerns about the thoroughness of service delivery in that instance. It is reasonable to assume that Litchfield Veterinary Clinic likely offers other standard veterinary services such as vaccinations, general health examinations, and potentially other medical or surgical procedures, although these are not explicitly detailed in the provided text.
Features:
Based on the limited information, it is challenging to definitively outline the unique features of Litchfield Veterinary Clinic. The fact that appointments can be scheduled weeks in advance suggests a structured appointment system. The availability of both a landline and a mobile phone number offers multiple ways for clients to contact the clinic. However, the negative reviews highlight potential issues with communication, including a failure to call ahead regarding incomplete services (microchipping) and a significant issue with a scheduled appointment seemingly being lost or not properly recorded. These instances suggest potential shortcomings in the clinic's operational features, particularly in scheduling and communication.
Promotional Information:
The provided text does not contain any explicit promotional information about Litchfield Veterinary Clinic. There are no mentions of special offers, discounts, loyalty programs, or unique selling points that might attract new clients. Therefore, local users seeking such information will need to contact the clinic directly or look for additional information from other sources online.
Important Considerations Based on Customer Reviews:
The customer reviews provided offer critical insights that potential local users should carefully consider:
- Scheduling Issues: One review details a significant problem with a pre-scheduled appointment for a dental procedure that was seemingly lost by the clinic, leading to frustration and a delay in necessary care for the pet. This raises concerns about the reliability of the clinic's appointment management system.
- Communication Problems: The same review highlights difficulties in communication, including a lack of proactive contact regarding an earlier appointment and conflicting information provided by different staff members. The initial review also mentions a failure to notify the owner beforehand about the incomplete microchipping service. These instances point to potential weaknesses in the clinic's communication practices.
- Pricing Discrepancies: One customer reported an unquoted additional charge at checkout, differing from the initial quote provided during scheduling. This lack of transparency in pricing is a significant concern for pet owners.
- Staff Energy and Handling of Pets: The first review describes the overall energy of the staff as negative and expresses dissatisfaction with how the puppies were handled, as well as the rushed nature of the appointment. These comments suggest potential issues with staff demeanor and the quality of care provided during consultations.
- Overall Satisfaction: Both reviewers explicitly state their dissatisfaction and would not recommend the clinic based on their experiences.
Objective Summary for Local Users:
Litchfield Veterinary Clinic is listed as a Pet Hospital in Litchfield, MN, offering veterinary services such as microchipping and dental extractions, as indicated by the customer reviews. While the clinic provides these services and has a physical location with contact information, recent customer feedback raises significant concerns regarding their service quality, communication, pricing transparency, and appointment management. Potential local users should be aware of these reported issues and may want to seek further information or consider these experiences when making decisions about their pet's veterinary care. It is advisable to contact the clinic directly to inquire about their services, environment, and pricing policies, and to potentially seek additional reviews or testimonials from other local pet owners to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the clinic's reputation and service quality.
As a Pet Hospital in the local area, Litchfield Veterinary Clinic has the potential to be a valuable resource for pet owners. However, the publicly available recent feedback suggests that there may be areas needing improvement to ensure a positive and reliable experience for all clients and their beloved animals. Local users are encouraged to weigh this information carefully when choosing a veterinary care provider for their pets.

Jan 08, 2025 · Jetta ChungIf I could, I would give zero stars. I called on March 28, 2025 at 9:57 am and scheduled an appointment for 3+ teeth extractions for my dog on April 30, 2025. I explained that my dog was in pain, and they said they would call and see if they could fit me in sooner, and I explained they would have to contact my sister who lives closer because she would be bringing my dog to the appointment. They said they needed my vet records, and they were sent to me from my vet, and I forwarded them on March 28th at 10:33 am. Today, April 28th, 2025 I called because we had not been contacted for an earlier appointment. They said there was no appointment. I said I made the appointment and they said I didn't have one. After arguing with the person on the phone who was trying to get off the line, I asked to speak to the person in charge of the clinic, someone named Heidi Shinniker (spelling could be wrong). She said Heidi was not in the office and I asked when I could expect a call back. She said she didn't know her schedule and couldn't say. I told her I needed to know because I work as well. Finally I was transferred so I could talk to Heidi. I explained the situation, and told Heidi that they should cancel the appointment for someone who had scheduled after me instead of my appointment. Heidi began looking through when all of the other appointments, which she said there were 7 of them, were made and said they were all made before mine. I told her she was lying to me because on March 28th there was an opening and if they were all scheduled before me and they could only do 7, there wouldn't have been an appointment available on the day I called. Then she began to backtrack and say she hadn't finished looking through all of the appointments. I just hung up because you can't reason with someone who lies.
Apr 28, 2025 · Deanna FosnessUnfortunately, my views on this office have changed. We have been going here off and on since it was Haugo. I will preface this by saying Dr. Dan is a great guy who has helped us countless times. We also appreciate Dr. Miranda. We ran into a situation where all of our animals needed care. We were proceeded to be shamed by the staff. The staff flat out lied and told us that our animals "hadn't been seen here in years". When my dog had literally been seen 3 months prior. They said a sick appointment isn't the same as a well visit. Okay, cool but you've been filling my dogs rx with ZERO issue and ZERO communication that she needed a "well visit" and not just sick visits. Tried to tell us that our other dogs had "zero vaccination records" when they did. We literally brought our new dog in within a week of her adoption for a "well visit" and to establish care. I confronted the office lady about the treatment I'd recieved from her and the tech. Simply (and kindly) letting her know I did not appreciate the way I was treated. That's when she doubled down and said I need to respect the client patient relationship. And went on about how the "ONLY" vaccines they have ever gotten were rabies. I tried to explain my reasoning for this and she wanted none of it, just kept pushing her medical opinions on me. I guess she knows whats best for my animals more than i do. No apology. No acknowledgement that I wasn't treated well. Just doubled down and tried to act like I was a negligent owner. And the kicker? The vets never once suggested the treatments I was shamed for not getting. They never mentioned them or tried to persuade us one way or another. Surely if the office lady/rude vet tech was bold enough to act like I'm a horrendous pet parent, the vets should be suggesting the things she's shaming me for not getting. My loyalty to this office was unmatched. But, I will not tolerate being treated poorly or like I'm a negligent pet owner when that's so far from the truth that it's not funny.
Apr 06, 2025 · angieee mmmarieI took my dog Brutus in to see about a mass in his mouth. I got the worst news. Cancer. They were so passionate and understanding. They are willing to make a small commendation for my boy. If it's nice out, we will sit outside under the warmth of the sun. We will share a little bit of chocolate so he can enjoy something sweet. He will cross the rainbow bridge next Tuesday (05/28/24). I can't thank this clinic enough. They are making this so peaceful. Thank you, guys! I appreciate everything.
May 24, 2024 · Molly MickelsonRecently I had a tech appointment for two cats to get vaccinations. One of the cats got a very swollen foot just prior to the appointment. Even though it was surgery day at the clinic - they made the time to treat my cat. They have also helped me with follow-up care over the phone. I have had many similar types of care with my many pets over the years. THIS is why I ONLY go to the Litchfield Vet Clinic. They have EARNED my trust with my pets care because of their team's consistency and expertise in treatment; and their HIGH level of care and compassion.
