Dr.J. Hs taken care of the girls (cars) and Shelly (Aussie) for years. I’m lucky because Shelly likes going to the vet, the girls not so much(they just want to run around outside). Excellent care. Just be careful depending on where you live. The exit ramp from 480E to 77S is closed right now, so I had to take Brookpark Road, which is a little bumpy at places.

The moment you step into Independence Veterinary Hospital, you’ll find an environment designed with both pets and their owners in mind. While specific details about the interior décor are not always readily available online, a reputable veterinary hospital typically strives for a clean, calm, and welcoming atmosphere. This often includes well-lit reception areas, comfortable seating, and separate waiting areas for cats and dogs to minimize stress. The examination rooms are generally equipped with modern veterinary tools and kept meticulously clean to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for all patients. The overall aim is to create a space where pets feel as comfortable as possible, helping to ease any anxiety they might feel during their visit.

Independence Veterinary Hospital offers a wide array of services designed to meet the diverse needs of your pets throughout every stage of their lives. While a complete list of all services isn't explicitly detailed in the provided information, standard offerings at a comprehensive pet hospital like this typically include:

  • Preventative and Wellness Care: This is foundational to long-term pet health and usually involves routine examinations, vaccinations to protect against common diseases, parasite control (for fleas, ticks, and worms), and nutritional counseling. Regular check-ups are crucial for early detection of potential health issues.
  • Diagnostic Services: To accurately diagnose illnesses, modern veterinary hospitals utilize various diagnostic tools. These often include in-house laboratory services for blood work, urinalysis, and fecal exams; digital radiography (X-rays) for imaging bones and internal organs; and sometimes ultrasound for more detailed soft tissue imaging.
  • Surgical Procedures: From routine spaying and neutering to more complex soft tissue surgeries, a full-service hospital typically offers a range of surgical options. This would be supported by advanced anesthesia monitoring and pain management protocols.
  • Dental Care: Just like humans, pets require regular dental care to prevent periodontal disease, which can lead to more serious health problems. Services often include dental cleanings, extractions, and oral evaluations.
  • Emergency and Urgent Care: While not explicitly stated as a 24/7 emergency clinic, many veterinary hospitals provide urgent care during their operating hours for unexpected illnesses or injuries. It's always best to call ahead in an emergency situation.
  • Pharmacy Services: For convenience, most pet hospitals maintain an in-house pharmacy to dispense necessary medications, ensuring quick access to treatments prescribed by the veterinarian.
  • End-of-Life Care: As highlighted in the customer reviews, Independence Veterinary Hospital excels in providing compassionate end-of-life care, including euthanasia services. This sensitive service is often accompanied by support and guidance for grieving pet owners. The ability to offer in-home euthanasia, as described by a customer, is a particularly remarkable and compassionate feature, providing comfort during an incredibly difficult time.

A distinctive feature that stands out at Independence Veterinary Hospital, based on client testimonials, is the exceptional level of personalized care and genuine compassion provided by their staff, particularly Dr. Jatsek and Megan. Customers consistently praise Dr. Jatsek's extensive knowledge and ability to accurately diagnose and treat various animal diseases. This deep understanding of veterinary medicine, coupled with years of experience, instills confidence in pet owners. Beyond the clinical expertise, the emotional support offered during challenging times, such as end-of-life decisions, is a hallmark of their service. The review detailing an in-home euthanasia visit underscores their commitment to providing comfort and a peaceful experience for both the pet and their family. This level of empathy and dedication goes beyond standard veterinary practice, making Independence Veterinary Hospital a place where pets are treated like family.

While specific promotional offers or regular discounts are not publicly available in the provided information, many veterinary hospitals engage in various promotional activities. These can include:

  • Seasonal Promotions: Clinics may offer special pricing on certain services during specific times of the year, such as dental cleaning specials in February (National Pet Dental Health Month) or discounted vaccination clinics.
  • Wellness Plans: Some hospitals offer wellness plans, which are bundled services paid for on a monthly or annual basis, providing discounts on preventative care services throughout the year.
  • Referral Programs: Encouraging existing satisfied clients to refer new ones can sometimes be rewarded with a credit or discount for both the referrer and the new client.
  • Community Involvement: Participating in local pet adoption events or offering educational seminars can also be considered a form of promotion, building goodwill within the community.

We have been with Dr Jatsek at Independence Vet Hospital for over 11 yrs now(and our daughter and her family has been with her for 10 yrs). She is so knowledgeable about her animals and their diagnosis and diseases. We recently(last 10 days) had to have our older shi-poo euthanized r/t kidney failure. Never, ever could we imagine not having Dr Jatsek and Megan at our side. She came out to our home which is very close to her office and this was the greatest gift and blessing she could have given us. Her compassion for our sweet Marlee and for Daddy and Mommy was surreal. This is one of the hardest things anyone can ever go through and we can't imagine not having Dr Jatsek and Megan at our side. They certainly met their calling when they chose veterinary medicine and I am eternally grateful they did.

I can't say enough good things about this clinic! The staff is amazing and truly cares for my pets like they are their own! I always know my boys are in good hands here.

As a member of the community and after recommendations I reached out to the clinic. After contact, I was told to send all of my pets paperwork and did as requested. A week or two later I was emailed and told they weren’t taking on new clients. This is extremely unprofessional and disrespectful as it then took me multiple weeks to look for another vet for my new kitten and 7 year old dog. We need a new vet to open shop in independence!

Highly recommend this place! They were super helpful when I first got my dog at explaining what shots were needed and when. They are always very sweet and accommodating. I needed to board my dog last minute and didn't have the kennel cough or flu vaccine yet - they quickly squeezed me in! Definitely recommended!
