OK service, not the usual "friendly" that most dog people are. VERY expensive. Called a week ago to get a quote for nail clipping and was told $16. Good deal, I thought. I usually do it myself but I thought I'd splurge for that price on his next checkup. $275 later (checkup, nail clip, routine fecal O&P. and a probiotic) I was dumbfounded. They charged more than $60 to clip my dogs nails, stating they have a tiered charge list based on how your dog behaves. And we had to put the muzzle on ourselves!! Not really pleased with EMVC but they're close (30 mins. away). Cost will keep me from regular visits. It is a shame and I'm sure many people feel the same. Gotta look into pet health insurance even though it sounds crazy to have to go there for an animal.

Welcome to Endless Mountains Veterinary Center, PC

Endless Mountains Veterinary Center, PC, located at 101 Vet Ctr Dr, Rome, PA 18837, USA, serves as a local "Pet Hospital" providing veterinary care services. They can be reached by phone at (570) 247-2861 or mobile at +1 570-247-2861. This clinic aims to cater to the health needs of pets in the Endless Mountains region, and an objective introduction based on available online information reveals a mixed bag of client experiences, primarily concerning service quality and pricing.

Environment and Atmosphere

The general impression of the environment at Endless Mountains Veterinary Center, PC, based on customer reviews, suggests a professional, but not consistently "friendly" atmosphere, particularly for dog owners who might expect a more outwardly warm demeanor from staff. While the facility is a functioning "Pet Hospital," the client's perception of the staff's demeanor is noted as "not the usual 'friendly' that most dog people are." This implies that the interpersonal aspect of the environment might lack the warmth that some pet owners seek. The experience of being asked to muzzle one's own dog during a nail clip, combined with a tiered charging system for behavior, further suggests a practical rather than overtly comforting approach to animal handling within the clinic. This focus on efficiency and protocol might overshadow efforts to create a universally soothing atmosphere, especially for anxious pets or owners. It implies a clinical and perhaps less personalized environment than some pet owners might prefer for their beloved companions.

Comprehensive Veterinary Services

As a "Pet Hospital," Endless Mountains Veterinary Center, PC, offers a range of veterinary services, though the specifics are primarily gleaned from client experiences rather than an explicit list. Services mentioned include routine check-ups, vaccinations (implied by "shots" during a checkup), and basic diagnostics such as fecal O&P (ova and parasites) tests. The clinic also provides preventative measures like probiotics. A common and basic grooming service, nail clipping, is also offered. The reviews indicate that they handle medical concerns such as prescribing pain medications and performing initial assessments for conditions like diabetes and specific eye diseases, even if follow-up for these complex issues might require multiple visits or referrals. While comprehensive surgical procedures are not explicitly detailed, a "Pet Hospital" generally provides various surgical interventions, from routine spays and neuters to more complex operations. However, the experiences shared suggest that for more involved diagnostics or consultations on ongoing conditions, clients may need to navigate a multi-visit process, potentially seeing vet technicians for initial assessments rather than directly consulting with a veterinarian. The availability of medications is also implied, as pain meds were dispensed and probiotics were part of a visit. However, the lack of direct vet consultation for blood work results and eye examinations for a specific disease, necessitating further visits, points to potential limitations in their immediate diagnostic and consultation process for more complex cases.

Distinguishing Features and Approach to Care

The distinguishing features of Endless Mountains Veterinary Center, PC, appear to be a mix of convenience and points of contention for clients. Their primary draw is location; being "close (30 mins. away)" is a significant factor for some pet owners in rural areas. However, this convenience is often weighed against other aspects of their service. A critical feature, or rather a point of concern for clients, is their pricing structure, which is repeatedly described as "VERY expensive" and has led to a significant "big difference" between initial quotes and final bills. The implementation of a "tiered charge list based on how your dog behaves" for services like nail clipping is a distinct, and for some, frustrating, feature. This non-standard pricing model for a common procedure can lead to unexpected costs and client dissatisfaction. Another notable feature, mentioned in a negative light, is the apparent difficulty in directly consulting with a veterinarian for test results or follow-up questions. The experience of seeing a "vet tech" who "couldn't do any blood work for diabetes" and being told to "come back for that to see the vet" for an eye examination suggests a structured approach to appointments that may not always align with client expectations for immediate veterinary consultation, leading to multiple visits and increased costs. The shift in ownership also appears to have impacted their service, with a long-term client noting a decline in quality and an increase in prices. The lack of direct vet communication for results, despite significant charges, is a critical issue that distances them from a more personalized and trusting client-veterinarian relationship that many "Pet Hospitals" strive for. This approach, while potentially efficient for the clinic, can leave clients feeling disconnected and frustrated, especially when dealing with serious pet health concerns.

Promotional Information and Community Engagement

Explicit promotional information for Endless Mountains Veterinary Center, PC, is not provided in the reviews. However, the reviews themselves inadvertently serve as a form of promotion and critique. The main "promotion" for this "Pet Hospital" appears to be its geographical proximity for local residents. The phrase "they're close (30 mins. away)" indicates that convenience plays a role in client choice, even if other aspects of the service are less than ideal. However, the negative experiences regarding pricing transparency and service delivery—such as the unexpected high cost for routine services and the difficulty in seeing a veterinarian directly for follow-up—actively deter clients and lead to negative word-of-mouth. The suggestion from a client to "look into pet health insurance even though it sounds crazy to have to go there for an animal" highlights the perception of their pricing structure as prohibitively high for regular visits. This indicates that their pricing may counteract any positive promotional efforts. For a "Pet Hospital," positive testimonials and strong client relationships are often the most effective forms of promotion. When these are undermined by issues such as unexpected costs or perceived lack of direct vet access, it significantly impacts client retention and recommendations. Therefore, while they may have standard online presence or local advertising, the prevailing sentiment from these reviews suggests that current client experiences are a more impactful, albeit mixed, form of promotion for Endless Mountains Veterinary Center, PC. The clinic's challenge, based on these reviews, is to address these core concerns to improve client satisfaction and foster more positive promotional outcomes.

I have been coming to Endless Mountains in Owego NY for many years, they were good, hence why I went, However, since changing owners, they are not good and now very expensive. I took my dog there 3 weeks ago for her checkup and shots, and I asked for them to check her for diabetes and they said oh we will do that on her next visit in 3 weeks, we want to see if the pain meds we give her have a reaction on her kidneys, hmmm....ok, so I go back, after 3 weeks, and we don't even get to see the vet, we get a vet tech, who couldnt do any blood work for diabetes and I also asked for her eyes to be looked at for a specific eye disease, and got the oh you will have to come back for that to see the vet, WHAT?? that's why I came back, to see the VET for her results and to have blood drawn for diabetes, now I am down 500 dollars from last 2 visits, and that does not include meds. I got the results back and no vet to speak to and charged 272 bucks for this last visit. guess I will go back to Cornell, they are expensive too, but at least students are getting hands on experience and I still have a vet I can talk to.

Came here in an emergency when my Large Animal Vet was unavailable. Very accommodating, amazingly friendly staff (Front desk, vet techs, Vet and owner), very calm & thorough work, clean work environment. I was amazed! I have had a hard time finding a vet that I like in the twin tiers over the past 5 years and I definitely found one here!
