If I could give zero stars, I would, but Google would not allow. My mother had an extremely poor experience here recently and I feel compelled to warn others. She has taken her cat here to get a nail trim 3x prior as it is very difficult and dangerous for her to try and cut the cats nails by herself. She showed up with her cat for her appointment today and Dr. Neumeister told her that it's not cost effective for her to bring the cat in only for a nail trim and she needs to take her somewhere else. She proceeded to leave the room after her statement and my mother had to ask the receptionist what just happened. She was informed the doctor was refusing to clip the cats nails and she would need to leave. I'm extremely disappointed with how the doctor treated her. My mother even asked if she could do the nails today and she would not come back again after that, no. She was refused service again. It is stressful to the cat and my mom to get to the vet in the first place. If they arent going to provide the service, why did they even accept the appointment? Dr. Neumeister was rude, abrupt and uncaring. My mother has wasted her time and energy and stressed her cat out for nothing. I would think twice about giving Dr. Neumeister your business.

As a local pet owner in Singapore seeking veterinary services or related products, it's important to understand the offerings and reputation of any pet care provider. While Dr. Mary Lynn Neumeister's clinic operates in the United States, understanding the general aspects of a pet hospital and considering available information is crucial for making informed decisions about pet care, even if you are looking for similar services within Singapore.
A typical pet hospital environment aims to be clean, comfortable, and reassuring for both pets and their owners. You can generally expect a reception area where you check in, examination rooms for consultations and minor procedures, and potentially more specialized areas for surgery, imaging (like X-rays or ultrasound), and housing for animals needing overnight care. The overall atmosphere should prioritize the well-being and safety of the animals.
Pet hospitals generally offer a range of services to cater to the health needs of your animal companions. These services often include:
- Wellness Exams and Preventative Care: Regular check-ups, vaccinations, parasite control (fleas, ticks, heartworms), and nutritional counseling are fundamental to maintaining your pet's health.
- Diagnostics: When your pet is unwell, a pet hospital should be equipped to perform various diagnostic tests, including blood work, urinalysis, fecal exams, and imaging techniques to identify the underlying issue.
- Treatment of Illnesses and Injuries: Veterinarians are trained to diagnose and treat a wide variety of medical conditions, from common infections to more complex diseases. They also provide care for injuries, wounds, and emergencies.
- Surgery: Many pet hospitals offer surgical services, ranging from routine procedures like spaying and neutering to more complex surgeries for various health conditions.
- Dental Care: Dental health is crucial for pets. Services may include teeth cleaning, extractions, and treatment of dental diseases.
- Microchipping: This is a common procedure to help identify and reunite lost pets with their owners.
- Nutritional Counseling: Veterinarians can provide guidance on the best diet for your pet based on their age, breed, health condition, and activity level.
- End-of-Life Care: When the time comes, pet hospitals often offer compassionate euthanasia services and grief support.
- Specialized Services: Some larger or more specialized pet hospitals may offer services like dermatology, cardiology, ophthalmology, or behavioral consultations.
Features that can enhance the quality of a pet hospital include:
- Experienced and Compassionate Staff: Veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support staff who are knowledgeable, caring, and good at handling animals are essential.
- Modern Equipment and Facilities: Up-to-date diagnostic and treatment equipment can contribute to better care.
- Clean and Organized Environment: A clean clinic minimizes the risk of infection and creates a more pleasant experience.
- Clear Communication: Veterinarians should be able to explain diagnoses, treatment plans, and costs clearly and answer your questions thoroughly.
- Emergency Services: Availability of emergency care during or outside of regular hours can be critical.
- Comfort for Animals: Features like separate waiting areas for cats and dogs, calming pheromone diffusers, and gentle handling techniques can reduce stress for pets.

Mar 06, 2024 · emily goinI just left feeling the Dr was very rude and arrogant! I found myself asking "What just happened?" I made an appointment for a cat nail trim. This is the 3rd time I've been here for a trim, no problem. I arrive, get a room, Dr Neumeister comes in, takes her out of her carrier, weighs her. Then she asked why I don't take her to her regular vet in Farley/Dyersville. I replied, "it's too far just for that". She replied, "it's, not cost effective for us, you'll have to take her there". I replied, " I will the next time". Then she walks out. No nails trimmed! It's a 5 minute job for $20.00. She said she only wants to do it for regular customers. What she should of done, is trimmed them one last time. And, they should of called and cancelled the appt before I went through the stress of catching her and getting her in the carrier! I won't recommend her to anyone! Nor would I change vets and come to her. Horrible customer service!
Mar 06, 2024 · Heidi GoinMy husband and I have known Dr Mary Lynn for over 40 years. She has treated many pets of ours throughout the years. Dr Mary Lynn is SO intelligent and each visit becomes an education for us. She excels in all she does and is a real perfectionist. It’s obvious that she cares deeply and does all possible to improve the quality of life for every pet she treats.
Apr 10, 2021 · Joyce BeelerWe have had many many years experience with Neumeister Animal Clinic. Dr Neumeister has always looked out for our dogs best interests. Because of traveling we do see other vets; but our primary will always be Mary Lynn.
