I brought my mom in with her dog who is 16 years old because we thought it was time to say goodbye. For two days she hasn’t eaten or drank anything with episodes of vomiting and diarrhea. She wasn’t able to walk or stand. Once we got to the clinic our beloved Roe Roe perked up and started walking around the floor and sniffing around. We were apprehensive of the decision to make the call to euthanize her which is what we were coming to the vet to do. We have never been to this clinic but made the choice to come because her primary vet clinic was closed. Once we arrived Dr. Irvin? Not sure her name immediately greeted us with little compassion on the matter. Once we got into the exam room we told her we didn’t know if this was the right decision because Roe Roe seemed to be acting different. I asked her what would she recommend us doing. She said she would want to do an exam but didn’t have time to do one at that moment. She said at best we could try for Thursday appointment. When we told her we would like to make that appointment she said “in my experience when these things happen there can be cancellations and I don’t have time for that because I can be treating other patients. Call me when the time comes and I’ll see what I can do” once again showing zero compassion. There wasn’t a single other patient in the office waiting. In fact I never even see cars parked at this office which tells me not many people come to this clinic, probably for reason. She was extremely rude, and I wouldn’t recommend anyone bring their pet to this clinic especially with an appointment at 5:15, 45 minutes before closing because that’s probably why she didn’t have time to do an exam on our sick dog. Dr. Rudy had better things to do than to perform an exam on a loveable sweet old gal, so we were sent home with the unknown in a day that could be her last.

As a dedicated Pet Hospital, Daisy Hill Animal Hospital aims to be your trusted partner in all aspects of your pet's health journey. Our goal is to create a comfortable and welcoming environment for both you and your pet, ensuring a stress-free experience whenever you visit us.

While specific details about the hospital's environment are not explicitly available online, a typical veterinary hospital setting prioritizes cleanliness, safety, and a calming atmosphere. You can generally expect well-maintained examination rooms where our veterinary professionals will assess your pet's health. We likely have designated areas for different purposes, such as a reception area for check-in and scheduling, consultation rooms for discussing your pet's needs, and potentially separate spaces for surgical procedures, imaging, and recovery. We are committed to maintaining a hygienic environment to minimize any risk of infection and ensure the well-being of all our patients.

The services offered at Daisy Hill Animal Hospital are likely to encompass a broad spectrum of veterinary care. These typically include:

  • Preventative Care: This is the cornerstone of your pet's long-term health. It usually involves routine wellness examinations, vaccinations to protect against common and potentially life-threatening diseases, parasite prevention (such as fleas, ticks, heartworms, and intestinal parasites), and nutritional counseling to ensure your pet maintains a healthy weight and receives the appropriate diet for their life stage and specific needs.
  • Diagnostics: When your pet is unwell, accurate diagnosis is crucial. Veterinary hospitals like Daisy Hill Animal Hospital are typically equipped with diagnostic tools such as laboratory services (blood tests, urine analysis, fecal exams), and potentially imaging technologies like X-rays to help identify the underlying cause of your pet's illness. These tools allow our veterinarians to gain valuable insights into your pet's condition and develop an effective treatment plan.
  • Medical Treatment: For pets suffering from various illnesses or injuries, we provide medical management. This can include administering medications, providing supportive care such as intravenous fluids, and closely monitoring your pet's progress. Our experienced veterinary team is trained to handle a wide range of medical conditions.
  • Surgery: Surgical procedures are sometimes necessary to address certain health issues. This can range from routine surgeries like spaying and neutering to more complex soft tissue or orthopedic surgeries. We prioritize your pet's safety and comfort during any surgical procedure, utilizing appropriate anesthesia and pain management protocols.
  • Dental Care: Oral health is an often-overlooked aspect of pet wellness. We likely offer dental services such as teeth cleaning, dental examinations, and treatment for dental diseases to help maintain your pet's oral hygiene and prevent related health problems.
  • Emergency Care: While not explicitly stated, many veterinary hospitals offer emergency services or have protocols in place for urgent situations. It's always advisable to confirm the availability of emergency care and the procedures to follow in case of a pet emergency.
  • Senior Pet Care: As pets age, their healthcare needs change. We understand the unique requirements of senior animals and offer tailored care to ensure their comfort and quality of life in their golden years. This may include more frequent check-ups and specific screenings for age-related conditions.
  • Nutritional Counseling: Proper nutrition plays a vital role in your pet's overall health. Our team can provide guidance on selecting the right food for your pet's age, breed, activity level, and any specific health concerns.

We likely emphasize clear communication with pet owners, ensuring you are well-informed about your pet's condition, treatment options, and associated costs.

Based on the limited online reviews, there appear to be mixed experiences at Daisy Hill Animal Hospital. One review expresses significant dissatisfaction with the perceived lack of compassion and unwillingness to examine a seriously ill senior dog nearing the end of its life. This reviewer strongly advises against visiting the clinic, particularly close to closing time. This feedback raises concerns about the level of empathy and responsiveness provided in certain situations.

However, another review offers a contrasting positive experience. This customer praises the gentle and caring handling of their old cat, Roscoe. They highlight the veterinarian's informative approach, ensuring the owner understood the procedures and costs involved. This reviewer also appreciated the lack of pressure for unnecessary treatments and found the prices to be reasonable compared to other local vets. This positive feedback suggests that some pet owners have had positive and informative experiences at Daisy Hill Animal Hospital.

It's important for local users to consider both perspectives when evaluating Daisy Hill Animal Hospital. The negative review raises valid concerns about communication and the handling of urgent situations, while the positive review highlights compassionate care and transparent communication. As with any service provider, individual experiences can vary.

They handled my old kitty Roscoe with so much care, even baby talking him to make him calm. The vet was very informative and made sure I knew of everything I was getting into and paying for! My father, who was with me, thought it was pricy... But I much prefer the prices here compared to the other vets in the area. They didn't pressure me into unnecessary procedures, and I learned a lot about cat health to help my baby live longer! Highly recommend this place.

Very happy. My pup was sick and I got in right away. I came in early and they took care of us and my pup is typically scared of people, but they were very kind and gentle. She is back to 100% and I will definitely be back if necessary....as I have a vet in another state.
