This used to be a family-run, personalized, caring vet. My family has gone here for 30+ years. All of my pets growing up as a child and my own as an adult has been seen here. I’m so disappointed in the corporate-like culture that has taken over this place. There used to be a day when you could call and explain a concern and could speak directly to your doctor/vet. Or if you had expensive tests done, the doctor would call to explain the results and answer any questions. If your pet was sick you could call and they would find a way to make sure you are seen. Your doctor used to spend quality time in the exam room and ensure your concerns were all answered. Now - all of that is gone. My mom has given up on this place based on how she has been treated with her dog but due to the long 8+ year history I had with my pup there I was holding on with having my dog still seen. I’m done. You need an appointment to talk to a vet (even for follow up on an existing issue), appointments are 2+ weeks out to book, if you do get an appointment the doctor is in and out, and if your pet is sick - good luck. You are told to take them to the ER or Urgent Care where those places don’t know your pet as well or have the medical history (not to mention charge 2X the price). If you need a place you can rely on for the good (routine care visits) and the bad (when your pet is ill) this is no longer one of those small-town, personal care places it once was.

For those of you with a positive experience, I envy you. This has NOT been my experience. When I first moved here in August 2022, my neighbor warned me not to go to Bluemound. Against her advice, I went anyway. I had a very positive experience with Dr. Emily Weaver & decided to stay. Fast forward to this last month...I felt like others who commented on "all about the $$"! I had a similar experience of no exam, but was charged for one. Then, my cat was prescribed a medication for a double ear infection that I discovered was OPEN once I got home. When I addressed this with staff the next day, I was told that they open it in the back before hand. What?!? Who sells opened medicine?? When I inquired as to why I wasn't told that, she told me frankly I'm the only one that has had a problem with it! That is rather concerning to me...& I can't believe it. Lastly, & the reason I am writing this review; after asking for records to be sent to Harmony Pet Clinic for 2 weeks, I received a call around 1230 confirming the records were sent & that my appointment for 2 this afternoon is being cancelled because there has been staff going home upset because of me?!? So, the day of the appointment they tell me they won't see my cat!! (Also, several reminders for the appointment had been previously sent...) My experience has been rather unprofessional, uncaring, uninformative, & expensive!! Please save yourself some stress & disappointment, go somewhere else.

We have brought our dogs here since 2005. We've also said goodbye to 3 of our dogs with the support of the staff. Our most recent loss was our red Boston Terrier, Zoe. I must say this experience as heartbreaking as it was was definitely so different then past years. We've always felt love and understanding but our recent experience I must say was much more comforting and different in a good way. The staff all showed our family such kindness. And allowed us to take our time with our unfortunate situation. We received our sympathy card and there was a print of our pups nose in it. I'll treasure it forever and whomever took the time to make the print and add it into our card is an amazing human. We have 2 dogs still and will continue to bring them here for care. Thank you to the caring staff here.

Wellness exam was not up to standard of care. Vet was with us for maybe 5 minutes, gave two vaccines, looked quickly at teeth and ears, commented teeth weren’t great, asked me what my dogs med that I wanted refill on was for, and left without an opportunity to ask questions. I left thinking maybe I was mistaken that we were there for vaccines only but nope, charged for a wellness exam. They were busy and I understand that but I was on time for my appt and expect the vet to review my dogs full health history, complete exam, speak to me about a plan for identified problems (teeth), and allow me to ask questions. I also had to bring up my dog needed flea and tick renewal as nobody had asked when they came in to collect payment. Feels like this should be standard with every wellness visit.

Summary: Dr. Emily Weaver refused to care for my dog the day of our appointment, after we waited in an exam room for nearly an hour, because the receptionist didn’t do their job and get my dog’s vaccine records in advance. The receptionist fed him who knows what even after I said he can’t have their regular treats (he has food allergies and she fed him open, unlabeled food in what was clearly a human food ice cream cone when I picked up what was left) and bought a bag of hypo treats from them to give my dog during the appointment. More details: I called and scheduled several weeks out to get vaccines and heartworm preventative for my dog. We have a regular vet at home in Indiana that I’ve taken my pets to for decades, but I came to Wisconsin on short notice to care for my 98-year-old grandmother. I provided our regular vet’s contact info at the time we scheduled the appointment and they said they would call for records. When we arrived, on time, the day of the appointment, they said they needed his records and asked if I had them. I sent them what I already had in my own email. They said they couldn’t find vaccine info. I emailed Bluemound screenshots of the vaccine reminder texts from my vet. They refused to accept this. I called the Indy vet, who immediately emailed a vaccine-only record to me, which I immediately fwded to Bluemound. The receptionist came back and said Dr. Weaver was sending us anway without care because they didn’t know what vaccines my dog needed. She said she could reschedule me for the following week. I said it’s not reasonable to punish me for their failure to do their jobs, and the receptionist (I think she said her name is Kia, but she was not wearing a name tag and did not give her name until I specifically asked), and her reply was “Okay.”
