Welcome to Best Friends Animal Clinic
Best Friends Animal Clinic, located at 11651 OH-44, Mantua, OH 44255, USA, is a deeply rooted and highly cherished veterinary practice serving the Mantua community and surrounding areas. With a phone number of (330) 274-3399 and a mobile phone number of +1 330-274-3399, the clinic has a long history of providing dedicated and empathetic care for pets. The practice has been a staple in the region for over 20 years, even before the tenure of Dr. Paroff, having moved from its original location in Aurora to Mantua Corners.
The atmosphere at Best Friends Animal Clinic is consistently described by clients as warm, welcoming, and deeply compassionate. Reviews highlight the staff's kindness and empathy, especially during profound and difficult moments like a pet's passing. This suggests an environment where both animals and their human companions feel supported and cared for, fostering a sense of trust and comfort. The clinic is understood to be designed with the comfort and healing of animals in mind. While it might not boast luxurious amenities, its core focus is on providing a stress-reduced environment. Features that contribute to such an environment in animal clinics often include separate areas for dogs and cats to minimize anxiety, natural lighting, and a clean, organized space. The long-standing loyalty of clients, with some having used the clinic for two decades, speaks volumes about the consistent positive experience they provide.
Best Friends Animal Clinic offers a comprehensive range of veterinary services, reflecting its role as a full-service animal clinic dedicated to the health and well-being of companion animals, primarily dogs and cats. Building on its long history, the clinic provides both routine and more specialized care. Their services generally encompass:
- Comprehensive Wellness and Preventative Care: This forms the foundation of their practice, including routine physical examinations, age-appropriate vaccinations (such as Rabies, Distemper/Parvovirus, Leptospirosis, Bordetella for dogs, and FVRCP, Feline Leukemia for cats), and tailored parasite control programs (fleas, ticks, heartworms, intestinal worms). The aim is to emphasize preventative medicine across all life stages.
- Surgical Procedures: Best Friends Animal Clinic is equipped to perform various surgical procedures, including routine spay/neuter operations, as well as soft tissue surgeries. While the extent of specialized surgeries isn't fully detailed in public information, a long-standing clinic typically handles common surgical needs.
- Dental Care: Comprehensive dental services are often a part of general veterinary care, including professional dental cleanings (scaling and polishing), extractions, and potentially dental radiography to assess oral health below the gumline. Good oral health is emphasized for a pet's overall well-being.
- Diagnostic Services: The clinic utilizes diagnostic tools to accurately assess and diagnose conditions. This would typically include in-house laboratory capabilities for blood work (e.g., complete blood count, chemistry panels), urinalysis, and fecal examinations. Digital radiography (X-rays) would also be a standard offering to aid in diagnosing various internal issues and injuries.
- Treatment of Illnesses and Injuries: They provide care for a wide range of common pet ailments, such as skin conditions, ear infections, gastrointestinal issues, allergies, and minor injuries. Their approach focuses on thorough diagnosis and effective treatment plans.
- Pain Management: Recognizing the importance of comfort for pets, the clinic would typically offer pain management strategies for both acute and chronic conditions, including post-surgical pain relief.
- Microchipping: This essential service helps increase the chances of reuniting lost pets with their owners.
- Nutritional Counseling: Providing guidance on optimal diets, weight management, and prescription diets for pets with specific health needs.
- End-of-Life Care: As highlighted in a client review, the clinic provides deeply compassionate and sympathetic support during the difficult process of euthanasia, often referred to as helping a pet "cross the rainbow bridge." This includes respectful and dignified handling of the pet during their final moments, which is greatly appreciated by grieving families.
While Dr. Paroff is mentioned as a prominent figure, the clinic likely has a team of veterinarians and support staff who contribute to the delivery of these services, ensuring comprehensive care for their diverse patient base.
Best Friends Animal Clinic is distinguished by several key aspects that have fostered its long-standing positive reputation:
- Deep-Rooted Community Presence and Loyalty: The clinic's history, having served the area for over 20 years and moving from Aurora to Mantua, speaks to its established presence and the strong bonds it has formed with generations of pet owners. The client who has used them for two decades, even before Dr. Paroff, exemplifies this exceptional loyalty.
- Exceptional Compassion, Especially in Difficult Times: The most powerful distinguishing feature is the profound compassion and sympathy demonstrated by the staff, particularly during end-of-life care. The review praising the vet for being "very nice and sympathetic while helping our girl over the rainbow bridge" indicates a rare and deeply valued quality that provides immense comfort to grieving families.
- Knowledgeable and Caring Staff: While not explicitly stated in the limited reviews, the long tenure and positive feedback imply a team of knowledgeable veterinarians and support staff who are dedicated to animal welfare and client education. The consistent "love this vet office" sentiment suggests a positive overall interaction with the entire team.
- Focus on Building Lasting Relationships: The clinic's name, "Best Friends," itself suggests a philosophy of fostering strong relationships with clients and their beloved animals. This goes beyond transactional care to truly being a partner in a pet's health journey.
Best Friends Animal Clinic's primary promotion lies in its long-standing reputation for compassionate and quality care within the Mantua community. The strongest endorsement comes from loyal clients who have entrusted their pets' care to the clinic for many years and who actively recommend them to others. This word-of-mouth promotion is a powerful indicator of client satisfaction and trust.
While specific seasonal promotions or discounts are not detailed in the provided information, general veterinary clinics typically offer various means to make care accessible. They would likely accept major credit cards, and might also work with pet insurance providers for unexpected accidents and illnesses. Furthermore, financing options like CareCredit or Scratchpay could be available to help clients manage larger veterinary expenses by allowing them to space out payments.
The client experience at Best Friends Animal Clinic is characterized by a strong sense of trust, comfort, and deep appreciation for the empathetic approach of the veterinary team. The continuity of care, with families returning with new pets after decades, underscores a consistent level of quality and connection. The ability of the staff to provide comfort during the hardest moments of pet ownership leaves a lasting positive impression, solidifying their reputation as a truly caring "Best Friends" to both pets and their human families. The seamless experience of getting a new pup and "being back" indicates a reliable and welcoming return for established clients.

Mar 13, 2023 路 alli mackeyI have been going to Best Friends Animal Clinic for the past 7 years now. Prior to this I lived in LA. So needless to say I have had my dogs to numerous vets in numerous geographical locations. I CANNOT EVER STRESS HOW WONDERFUL THIS CLINIC IS. Suzanne and Sandy are the absolute best. They really love animals. It is very obvious they do what they do out of sheer passion. They have always guided me about my pets with education and compassion. Yes they are knowledgeable, great with animals and professional yet they are also inexpensive and totally honest. In 2009 my dog Tanqueray was diagnosed with Chondrosarcoma and I asked Dr. Suzanne what should I do and she told me; It may be better, due to its location and your dogs age to just let it be.. And that often times with this type of cancer once a dog has surgery sometimes this type of cancer comes back much more aggressively. I did speak to a few other vets and they wanted me to do the surgery which would have entailed removing several of her ribs, moving her diaphragm over and about 6 months in a crate. (she was a 60lb lab/pit mix). And her chances according to them were 50/50 and due to her age (10) she might not survive the surgery. Oh and of course they needed $2500 for the surgery. In November of 2012 I had to put my beautiful dog, Tanqueray, down, after a courageous 3 1/2 year battle with cancer. She was my first dog ever and she was 13 yrs old, needless to say she was my soul mate and it broke my heart. The worst day of my life. My other dog who was 11 at the time had never known life without Tanqueray so I asked Suzanne if I could bring him in to also say good bye to his best friend. She completely agreed. I can never really put into words how compassionate and understanding Suzanne and her assistant Sandy were that horrible day. They made the worst day of my life somewhat bearable. They were down on the floor with us.. Suzanne made sure Tanq was totally comfortable in her last moments, Sandy made sure my other dog was ok while his mom was beyond tears. And we were all in it together. Again I cannot ever put into words how wonderful Suzanne and her assistant Sandy are. I am not a religious person, however if there is such a thing as angels then these two certainly are angels. I cannot recommend this animal clinic enough. THEY TRULY LOVE ANIMALS.
