This clinic provides a broad spectrum of veterinary services, catering primarily to small animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small mammals. The designation "Pet Hospital" signifies a facility that goes beyond basic vaccinations, offering comprehensive medical, diagnostic, and surgical care, aiming to be a primary healthcare provider for pets throughout their lives.
The environment at Belmont Veterinary Clinic is consistently described by long-term clients as clean and friendly. While specific details about the interior decor or advanced technological setup are not extensively detailed in public information, the recurring theme from reviews highlights a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. The focus appears to be on creating a reassuring space where both pets and their owners feel at ease during what can often be stressful visits. The clinic aims to be a place where compassion and personalized attention are paramount, reinforcing a sense of community care that is valued by its clientele.

A key feature that consistently garners praise for Belmont Veterinary Clinic is the compassionate and caring nature of Dr. Whitenour and her staff. Multiple reviews highlight Dr. Whitenour as "one of the most caring loving veterinarians" encountered by clients, and the staff as "always friendly" and dedicated to taking care of pets. This personalized approach to patient care, where both the pet and the owner feel genuinely cared for, is a significant draw for many long-term clients. The clinic is often recommended for its ability to provide comprehensive care with a highly skilled and experienced veterinarian and supportive staff.
However, it is also important to address a recurring concern noted in customer reviews: phone accessibility. One client explicitly stated, "Never answers the phone... I’m switching vets because I can’t seem to make an appointment even if I leave multiple voicemails." This suggests that while the quality of care once inside the clinic is high, the initial point of contact and scheduling appointments can sometimes be a challenge. For local users, this might necessitate using alternative communication methods if available, such as online appointment requests or email, or being prepared for potential difficulties in reaching the clinic by phone. The clinic's hours are typically Monday-Thursday: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, and they are closed on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, which is important for clients to note for scheduling.
Regarding promotional information, Belmont Veterinary Clinic's website indicates an online prescription refill service, allowing clients to request medication refills by submitting a form, which must then be approved by a doctor. This offers a convenient digital option for existing clients. While specific, overt promotional deals or packages are not broadly detailed, the clinic's core offering of comprehensive care, coupled with the noted compassion of Dr. Whitenour, serves as its primary draw. The clinic's long-standing positive reputation within the community, cultivated over "many years" according to one review, acts as a powerful form of promotion, based on word-of-mouth and consistent quality of care. Their commitment to continuing to provide care for existing patients through a transfer to Poland Veterinary Centre with Dr. Wittenauer continuing small animal practice there as of February 2025 also showcases their dedication to ongoing patient relationships, even amidst potential changes in clinic operations or availability of records.
In conclusion, Belmont Veterinary Clinic at 2900 Belmont Ave in Youngstown, OH, functions as a valued "Pet Hospital" that offers extensive veterinary services for small animals. Its strengths lie in its comprehensive care, the highly compassionate and skilled veterinarian Dr. Whitenour, and a friendly, dedicated staff operating within a clean environment. While challenges with phone communication for scheduling appointments have been noted, the overall client experience, once care is accessed, is highly positive, making it a recommended choice for pet owners seeking thorough and caring veterinary attention in the Youngstown area.

May 02, 2025 · megan cutlipWe have been going here for many years! The staff is so friendly it's clean, and Dr Whitenour It's one of the most caring loving veterinarians I've ever met. Highly recommend Belmont veterinary clinic for all your pet needs and care!
Sep 06, 2024 · Nicholas CaranoMy experience at this veterinary clinic was an absolute nightmare. After waiting nearly 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, my pet was finally seen by a vet who seemed completely out of touch and incompetent. This vet was clearly not fit to be practicing medicine, as she not only failed to help my pet but actually made the health situation worse. To make matters worse, during the middle of the procedure, which I had to assist her with because she couldn't handle it on her own, she started demanding payment and telling me how much I owed her. It was unprofessional, disrespectful, and downright pathetic. I would strongly advise anyone considering this clinic to look elsewhere for competent and compassionate care for their pets.
