Now I understand why this place has such low reviews. At first I decided to ignore the reviews and go gather my own opinion as I just adopted a new puppy and wanted him to be seen as soon as possible per contract. When I first went in I can say the place is by far not close to being up to code or safe what so ever. It looks like your dog could catch something just from stepping on the floors. Dirt, rust, and just very weird overall vibe. Again, chose to ignore as I had already paid the deposit and wanted to meet the actual vet. When I say a certain staff member there walked into the room with a ER patient “Johnny” on, like a patient wears at a ER/Doctor visit…. I began to question if this person was a patient or a staff member. Never seen anything like it before. As it made me feel VERY uncomfortable the vet came in and she herself is very nice and professional. I only spoke with her and felt the experience all together was a good one because of her and her only. Time goes on and I need to go back to finish my new puppies round of shots and drop off a stool sample. When I tell you I walked in, and stood at the front desk for a good 30 min while the front desk staff was on the phone with their family member just chatting away it rubbed me the wrong way. I say this because a staff member had instructed me that once I collect the stool sample I need to drop it off asap so it does not become unusable and if I was unable to drop it off right away then I needed to refrigerate it. So knowing this information it was HIGHLY unprofessional to have me just standing there for an lengthy amount of time all while having a personal (non emergency) conversation. The icing ontop of it all was when I called into today as my other dogs normal vet is over an hour away and has no available appointments. Knowing how quickly this office has openings (now I know why) I called in to ask if I could get her seen today to run some tests. The woman who answered the phone asked me to explain a little of what was going on of course. As I explained that I had given my older dog a chew stick/treat and I think it was upsetting her stomach I would like to come in to get some testing done just to have peace of mind. This is where the nasty behavior began… “ well if she’s on a specific diet you shouldn’t be giving her treats at all” What? I’m so confused? So if a dog is on a specific dog food, they can’t have a treat from the same dog food brand? What sense does that make. It has all the same ingredients just in a different form I replied. She then says “a different form? What do you mean a different form? Treats don’t come in different forms!” Well first off I know as I’ve been in your office and that you work at a vet office you should be familiar in the fact dog treats (made by the same brand) can come in soft, hard, chewy, sticks, etc. same exact ingredients just different forms of texture and size and quite frankly I feel the “lecture” or blame type behavior is unnecessary. I honestly feel she was in a horrible mood and just wanted to bash me for giving my dog treats? Vet approved treats I may add. She then began to say they needed records of her past vet visits. I ensured her that wouldn’t be an issue as I can text the vet and ask her to email/ fax them over before the appointment. Well that was not good enough for her either “well call them. You’ll just give receipts of visits and that’s not what we need” Assuming and bashing once again… First off I’ve already come in with my puppy and provided the CORRECT paperwork so for you to assume I do not know what vet records are is insulting. Second if I am having the vet fax/email them over to you then it wouldn’t be myself brining them in now would it. The staff here are also combative with each other, so doesn’t surprise me whatsoever that it was bound to come my way as well. It’s a shame because I really did want to give the “underdog” a chance and go somewhere super close to where I live but at some point you have to wonder why they are allowed to be so unprofessional towards clients.

Welcome to Bellingham Animal Hospital
Welcome to Bellingham Animal Hospital, a "Pet Hospital" located at 112 Mendon St in Bellingham, Massachusetts. This facility aims to provide veterinary care for pets in the local community. As a platform category encompassing services for animal health, it's important to offer a detailed and objective introduction based on available information, which in this case primarily consists of recent customer reviews.
Regarding the environment of Bellingham Animal Hospital, one customer described the facility as being "by far not close to being up to code or safe what so ever," noting issues such as dirt, rust, and an overall "weird vibe." This reviewer also expressed concern about the general cleanliness, suggesting a potential risk of animals contracting infections. This is a critical aspect to consider when evaluating a pet hospital, as a clean and safe environment is paramount for preventing the spread of disease and ensuring the well-being of patients. However, it's important to acknowledge that this is a single observation and may not represent the entirety of the clinic's conditions at all times.
The services offered at Bellingham Animal Hospital appear to cover a range of veterinary needs. One positive review specifically highlights the clinic's ability to handle emergency situations, citing a cat that required emergency pyometra surgery. The reviewer expressed gratitude for the affordability and understanding shown by the hospital during this critical time, especially when compared to significantly higher quotes received from other veterinary facilities. This suggests that emergency surgical services are within their capabilities. Furthermore, the initial negative review mentions the provision of vaccinations (rabies shot) and consultations, indicating that routine preventative care and general veterinary examinations are also part of their service offerings. The request for stool samples for a new puppy also points towards diagnostic testing being available.
Features of Bellingham Animal Hospital, gleaned from the reviews, present a mixed picture. One notable feature appears to be the presence of a veterinarian described as "very nice and professional," who, according to one reviewer, made their overall experience a positive one despite other issues. This suggests that the clinical expertise of the veterinary staff may be a strong point. Additionally, the hospital seems to offer relatively quick appointment availability, although one reviewer ironically notes this might be due to negative perceptions. The affordability of services, particularly in emergency situations, is also highlighted as a significant positive feature by one customer. This could be a crucial factor for pet owners facing costly treatments.
However, the reviews also point to several areas of concern regarding the staff and administrative aspects. One customer reported a 30-minute wait at the front desk while staff engaged in a personal phone call, which was deemed unprofessional, especially given the urgency of dropping off a stool sample. This suggests potential issues with front desk efficiency and customer service. Another significant concern raised was the perceived "nasty behavior," "lecture," and "blame type behavior" experienced during a phone inquiry about a sick dog. The reviewer felt that the staff member was unprofessional, argumentative, and made incorrect assumptions. The mention of "combative" behavior among the staff further contributes to a concerning picture of the clinic's internal dynamics and its potential impact on client interactions.
Currently, there is no explicit promotional information available for Bellingham Animal Hospital in the provided reviews. Local users interested in learning about any special offers, discounts, or pricing structures should contact the hospital directly at (508) 966-1000 or +1 508-966-1000. Inquiring about the costs of specific services relevant to your pet's needs would be a prudent step in making an informed decision.
In conclusion, Bellingham Animal Hospital in Bellingham, MA, presents a complex picture based on the limited information available. While one customer found the veterinarian to be professional and appreciated the affordability during an emergency, another detailed significant concerns regarding the clinic's environment, front desk service, and the unprofessional and confrontational behavior of a staff member during a phone interaction. These contrasting experiences highlight the importance of considering all feedback when evaluating a veterinary care provider. Local users may want to weigh the reported affordability and availability against the concerns raised about the clinic's environment and certain aspects of its customer service. Visiting the clinic for an initial consultation might provide a more direct understanding of the facility and its staff. It is crucial for pet owners to feel comfortable and confident in their choice of veterinary care to ensure the best possible health outcomes for their animals.
Prospective clients are encouraged to contact Bellingham Animal Hospital directly to discuss their specific needs, inquire about the clinic's protocols and environment, and address any concerns arising from the reviews. This direct communication can help in forming a more complete and informed opinion about whether Bellingham Animal Hospital is the right choice for their pet's healthcare needs. Remember, choosing a "Pet Hospital" involves considering not only the medical services but also the overall experience and comfort of both the pet and the owner.

Feb 28, 2025 · Ashley NeelandBellingham animal hospital was very quick affordable and understanding. Im very thankful for them. My cat lulu needed emergency pyometra surgery and I called so many places but they all wanted 6-8k for the surgery that I wouldn't have been able to scrounge up so quickly in time for her. Bellingham animal hospital was affordable, kind and friendly in our time of need. Lulu is now home and doing good. They think of our animal babies health over price gouging. I appreciate them so much!
Mar 03, 2025 · Shayla WhiteI have only been here once, with my new 6-week-old kitten a couple weeks ago. The doctor I got was super nice, she was gentle and very informative. There was a nice young gentleman who was assisting her, and he was wonderful. There was a mix up about my kittens age as I made the appointment before picking her up from where I got her. She ended up being too young for her first shots and the secretaries were trying to figure out everything for me. I was clearly nervous, and the gentleman popped his head out into the waiting area to re-assure me that everything will be taken care of and not to worry. Will say I really appreciated that, and it put me to ease. My kitten was a little cold during her checkup, so she was wrapped up in a little towel, they cuddled her until she stopped shivering and gave her a toy at the end. Me and Binx both left happy and made another appointment to follow up with her shots :)
Oct 28, 2024 · Rebekka SweeneyI actually got referred by a lady i had just met. She told me the vet really cares for her animals. I looked online and saw bad reviews but i know how people can be! I put my faith in God and im glad i did. From the first phone call, to me walking out the door, there was nothing but kind hearted respect. The place is very clean! I even saw one of them cleaning as one dog left. My dog had an accident 😩 and she cleaned it right away. And opened the window. I felt so bad. She asked politely for me to wait outside. Which was only fair! The prices are very good compared to other vets! The Dr and lady at the front made sure I understood everything. Please don’t listen to the bad reviews. Someone will always have something to say! I thought this place was awesome! If i lived in the area, i would want this to be my place to take my 3 dogs! 🥰

Oct 09, 2024 · LeisaIt’s a shame this place only has a two star rating. The staff and veterinarian that I deal with are awesome. Have 3 dogs that I bring and they take excellent care of them. If you are looking for a caring and compassionate place this is it. I have been coming here for 6 years.
