Bastet Cat Hospital, inc. Introduce
Bastet Cat Hospital, Inc., located at 120 E Olive Ave #18, Burbank, CA 91502, USA, is a specialized pet hospital that dedicates its entire practice to the unique health and behavioral needs of cats. With a phone number of (818) 846-8600, this facility stands out by offering an exclusively feline-focused veterinary experience, aiming to create a less stressful and more comfortable environment for its whiskered patients. Established in 1998, Bastet Cat Hospital has a long-standing commitment to providing quality healthcare for cats in Burbank and the surrounding Southern California area.
The environment at Bastet Cat Hospital is designed with the specific sensitivities of cats in mind. Unlike mixed-animal practices where the presence of dogs might cause anxiety, a cat-only hospital aims to minimize stress through a calm and quiet atmosphere. While specific architectural details aren't widely publicized, the expectation for such a specialized clinic is a clean, scent-controlled, and serene setting. Soft lighting, quiet spaces, and feline-friendly furniture would likely be features to ensure a low-stress experience. One positive customer review highlights a "warm and welcoming" staff, which contributes significantly to a positive environment. The sentiment of being treated "as if she were their own pet" underscores a compassionate and personalized approach to care. However, it's also important to acknowledge that customer experiences can vary, as indicated by another review mentioning a "smells like cat piss immediately upon entering," which suggests potential inconsistencies in maintaining the ideal cat-centric environment. Such feedback highlights the importance of clinics continuously striving for excellence in cleanliness and patient comfort.

They can also facilitate referrals to 24-hour emergency hospitals if required.
Diet and Weight Management: Recognizing the prevalence of obesity and other diet-related issues in cats, they offer guidance on diet and weight management, including prescription diets and support for diabetic cats.
Ophthalmology & Eye Care: Addressing feline eye conditions and providing specialized care for ocular health.
Pharmacy and Medicinal Needs: The hospital maintains a full animal pharmacy to provide medications and other health products conveniently.

May 01, 2025 · Valerie FrancoCame here for a dermatology concern (likely infected cat acne) & the vet tech / receptionist didn’t know how to hold my under 6lb 11 year old cat to get her temperature. Politely asked for someone else to assist & the vet came in & said “she has a heart murmur & is underweight we need to do a full blood panel” which i was told cost over $1,000 & wouldn’t provide me with a list of what would be included and the prices. She read abbreviations to me: couldn’t answer why she needed corona virus test and fecal test and urine test. I’ve had my cat over 10 years & this is the most she’s ever weighed. I wasn’t listened to. I was dismissed. The vet tech had to go back to ask the vet questions i had: he wouldn’t come out to speak to me. Left in tears. No other clients & i had an appointment. Smells like cat piss immediately upon entering.
Apr 30, 2025 · rachel bennettWe came here on the recommendation of our friend when we were looking for a new vet for our adult cat. We had previously used a large facility that while they were professional and attentive, their prices kept going up and we felt we should look for a more personal approach to our cat's care. Bastet is a cat only facility. They have two cat greeters named Oliver & Gizmo, who are amazingly sweet and make each visit a treasure. The humans aren't bad either! The techs and Dr. Sam remember who we are and who our cat is when we walk in the door, asking how she is doing and remember her past treatments without having to look us up in the system. They are very accommodating to our care needs and schedule. Every treatment plan is given an option, there are no surprise costs, everything is discussed openly with you and you can say no without fear of judgement or refusal of future treatment. Our cat had to have oral surgery which necessitated an unexpected overnight stay as the doctor wanted to be able to monitor her coming out of anesthesia. They did not charge us for the overnight (something that would be VERY expensive at our previous vet), and even allowed us to pick her up on a Sunday, when they would normally be closed. The only downside of Bastet is that we cannot take Oliver and Gizmo home with us!
Jan 03, 2024 · Brett CiccarelloDr. Basilious is a literal lifesaver!! I brought my sweet energetic 1 year old kitty here after she suddenly started refusing food and water and became lethargic. My old vet dismissed my concerns after the world’s briefest evaluation, so I decided to try Bastet Cat Hospital to get a second opinion. After a much more thorough examination, Dr Basilious found that her bladder was TWICE the size it should be! He drained her bladder and put her on a special diet and antibiotics, and I’m so thrilled to say that she’s back to her playful self! Everyone in the office is so kind and knowledgeable, and they even worked with me to keep the cost down. I’m happy to switch my 3 kitties to this clinic and give them my business, they deserve it. Thank you Dr. Basilious!
Jul 28, 2024 · Dante MejiaMy boyfriend took my cat here after he ate an entire box of treats and vomiting for 3 days. They quoted around $1600 total for only labs and X-ray and this does not include treatment. Doctor did not even examine my kitty and said he would need surgery. We paid the $89 consultation fee and luckily we have friends who are vets and said the prices are too high. We then went to another hospital the same day and got everything done X-ray treatment and labs for $800 with exceptional service and follow up phone calls. My kitty did not need surgery and just Iv fluids and anti nausea medications. I never write reviews but I am warning people of this place because it is a scam and who knows what could have been done to my kitty. The quote is also an estimate and you can be charged more. Never coming to this place again!!
