I just want to share something. My puppy has been coming here for a few years. Every year they find something different and diagnose her with something different. They always want to charge me a ton of money for things that isn’t needed. They’re always telling me since I don’t have a plan it will cost this much. They’re always trying to scam me and make me pay a lot of money each time I go. I’m definitely fedup and looking for another place because this is not it. The doctor said my pup might have stones. They took urine from my pup and said she has blood in her urine and is trying to make me pay to do X-rays. Mind you it wasn’t even her urine that they showed me. Always trying to scam me for something. Do better ! This place is all about getting money instead of caring for the animals.

Welcome to Banfield Pet Hospital
Banfield Pet Hospital, located at 14 West Circle, Valley Stream, NY 11581, USA, is part of a large network of veterinary clinics across the United States. As a local "Pet Hospital," it aims to provide a range of veterinary services to pet owners in the Valley Stream area. They can be contacted at (516) 593-2464 or their mobile number +1 516-593-2464 for inquiries or to schedule appointments.
When considering a veterinary care provider for your beloved pets, it's essential to gather information from various sources to make an informed decision. While Banfield Pet Hospital is a well-known name, it's crucial for local users to be aware of the experiences shared by other pet owners who have utilized their services at the Valley Stream location.
The limited customer reviews available online for the Valley Stream Banfield Pet Hospital paint a concerning picture. One reviewer expresses strong dissatisfaction, stating that their puppy has been diagnosed with different ailments each year, leading to expensive and potentially unnecessary treatment recommendations. This reviewer feels that the hospital prioritizes selling their care plans and upcharging for services, rather than focusing on genuine care for the animals. They recount an instance where they were told their dog might have stones and had blood in her urine, with a recommendation for X-rays, but the reviewer doubted the validity of the urine sample shown to them. This customer explicitly states they are "fedup" and are seeking a different veterinary provider, concluding that Banfield "is all about getting money instead of caring for the animals."
Another review is even more critical, giving a rating of "zero" and advising others not to trust this hospital. This pet owner shares a tragic experience involving their young dog who was initially diagnosed as just dehydrated or having eaten a dead bird. After four weeks, the dog's condition worsened, and an emergency room visit revealed a diaphragmatic hernia that was present, though potentially less severe, in X-rays taken by Banfield four weeks prior. The reviewer claims that Banfield did not inform them of this finding at the time. They also mention that Banfield's prices are "overpriced." Ultimately, the dog's condition was too severe for surgery, leading to the heartbreaking decision to euthanize. The reviewer strongly urges others, "Do not and I mean DO NOT. Bring your pet here."
Given these two highly negative reviews, local users should approach Banfield Pet Hospital in Valley Stream with significant caution. These personal accounts raise serious concerns about the accuracy of diagnoses, the transparency of treatment recommendations, the communication of critical medical information, and the overall focus on patient care versus financial gain, at least in the experiences of these two pet owners.
Due to the severely negative feedback, it is challenging to objectively describe the "environment," "services," and "features" of this specific Banfield location based solely on these reviews. The environment, in a general sense for Banfield hospitals, typically includes examination rooms, waiting areas, and potentially surgical suites and diagnostic imaging facilities. They usually offer a range of services including routine check-ups, vaccinations, dental care, parasite prevention, illness and injury treatment, and potentially surgical procedures. A common feature of Banfield is their "Optimum Wellness Plans," which are membership-based plans offering preventative care services at a set monthly fee. However, one of the negative reviews specifically criticizes the pressure to purchase these plans.
It's important to note that these reviews represent individual experiences and may not be representative of every interaction at this Banfield location. However, the severity of the issues raised, particularly the alleged misdiagnosis and failure to communicate a critical finding, warrants careful consideration by potential clients.
Currently, there is no positive information or promotional material available in the provided text to offer a balanced perspective or highlight any potential benefits of choosing this Banfield Pet Hospital. Therefore, local users are strongly advised to seek additional information from other sources, such as online review platforms, social media, and most importantly, consider visiting the facility themselves for an initial consultation to assess their comfort level and the perceived quality of care.
Before making a decision, local pet owners might want to inquire specifically about the diagnostic procedures, the communication protocols between veterinarians and pet owners, the transparency of their pricing and treatment plans, and how they handle critical or unexpected findings. Asking about the qualifications and experience of the veterinary staff at this particular location could also be beneficial.
In conclusion, the limited but strongly negative feedback available for Banfield Pet Hospital in Valley Stream, NY, raises significant concerns regarding the quality of care, diagnostic accuracy, communication, and business practices. Local users are urged to exercise caution, conduct thorough research, and consider seeking alternative veterinary care providers in the area based on the experiences shared by these pet owners. It would be prudent to gather more information from a variety of sources before entrusting the health and well-being of their pets to this specific Banfield location.

Oct 24, 2024 · Star Princesszero. Absolute zero if I could. They knew my dog was sick and now his not able to get surgery without big risks. Now I have to say goodbye. Don’t trust them. My dog was 3 years old, 3. He was a baby! my baby. 4 weeks ago they said he was just dehydrated or that he just ate a dead bird, and we decided to come back after 4 weeks because we saw something was absolutely wrong with my dog. Turns out he had a diaphragmatic hernia. He was born with it but 4 weeks ago from today they had given him ex ray’s that showed the hernia (which hadn’t been as worse as it was now) and they just didn’t decide to tell us! Not to mention how overpriced they are. Today we had to rush my pup into a emergency room an hour away, but it was already too late. We couldn’t save him. The surgery was 12-15k and the doctors weren’t sure if he would relapse or not but they were sure it would be a slow and painful recovery. so we decided to do what was best for him. Put him to sleep. I cried my eyes out until they burned. Do not and I mean DO NOT. Bring your pet here.
Dec 01, 2024 · SkzLoverDO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE !!!! THIS LOCATION IS TERRIBLE. The customer service from the so called receptionists are terrible they sit there and gossip and discuss what they wanna eat on their lunch break instead of welcoming and helping clients. I was standing in line for 10 min while the girl at the desk came to the front to gossip then went to the back room then said she was on her lunch break and just walked past everyone. My dog came in for shots & basic grooming with anal gland expression. Why would they ever have my dog come out with his butt full of poop !? Everytime i have it done they at least rinse him off. After his appointment for the entire day he yelped whenever I touched him which never happened before ! I really wish they hired better techs and reception. I love the doctors but the rest of the staff are inconsiderate clowns !
May 07, 2024 · Danielle BrownBanfield doctors are great , if you have an appointment scheduled. However, the low rating is because it’s extremely difficult to get someone on the phone. If you leave a voicemail no one ever calls you back. Have someone assigned to work phones to improve your overall customer service. I tried a few time a day and no one answered, it goes directly to the voice message. No one called me back . After a week I called back and finnaly got someone on the phone, after trying so many times again. Now I'm trying to cancel and reschedule and again is no way I can get thru. This is so frustrating. That really makes me not go there any longer and cancel the insurance for my puppy. Anyway if you have insurance is still not covering for a lot of stuff. I always paid another $100 - $200 at least every time I took my puppy for regular vaccines or visits. Too bad that people do not like to work anymore. I'm wondering if they go out of business what are they going to do. I will look for another hospital for my puppy .This is just very upsetting . I don't have time to call every day to schedule an appt. I also see lots of bad reviews for a while and I'm sure everyone emailed to the email that is given on the response , but no one is still doing anything about it.
