We have been using Banfield Hospital for over a decade — loyal customers because of our dog, who sadly passed away unexpectedly. In the midst of grief, you start contacting services that are no longer needed. A wellness plan is no longer necessary for a pet that is no longer with us. It is disgraceful, predatory, and cruel to profit off the bodies of our deceased pets. What people fail to realize is that these are more than just pets — they are our family members. When we questioned what services had been rendered since the beginning of the policy that would justify continued charges to our account, the agent simply repeated what they were trained to say: “Unfortunately, your plan is for a year, and you must either continue paying monthly or pay the entire balance up front.” Why not tell me what services my pet actually received to justify the cost? Now, for the next few months, I either have to relive the death of my dog every time I see that charge — or take a financial hit and pay off the plan in full. If you do anything, stay away from this company. Find a local hospital instead — because these large corporations are heartless and greedy.

Giving one star for the very abusive and derogatory nature in which I was subject to today by a lady who answered the phone and said her name was Meeka first off I was put on hold for 30min when I called back to ask what would be a good time to call back, I was immediately hung up on this happened 3 times then I was sent straight to hold a couple more times. I have never been subjected to this type of treatment at this location which leads me to believe that maybe management has changed their policy on how paying customers are supposed to be treated

I was honestly happy when my Vet came out speaking an accent other than purely American English. It’s not so much I care, who works on my animals, or what nationality they are, I couldn’t care less, as long as long as they’re highly qualified and have a good bedside manner. The difference, after living abroad, between the European system and the American system of veterinary care, is that the Europeans are much more comprehensive than your traditional veterinarian, there are medications that you can buy on Amazon for your dog, that the French authorities will never allow you to buy without the consent and legal sign off of your veterinarian. The vets office will also receive the medication that you ordered and it’s very customisable to one stop responsible shopping for your animal. A real person lies touch. The European style is more inclusive, more directive, much more focused on providing outcomes that are successful, then how much money they can run up to keep an animal alive. My doctor today was excellent, completely ingrained in the way that I wanted to speak about my animals, in the European sense not the American sense. The biggest difference I can say, is in my Vet wrote down every vaccine and my dog’s schedule for this year and next in terms of major milestones and vaccination schedules. My dog wasn’t even originally located or seen by the Vet, he described wrote out what the schedule will be for the next six months for my dog to get his vaccinations complete, what those vaccinations were, if they were 1/2 or 2/2 doses. We also went over my dog’s overall health monitoring schedule. I would also like to say, the staff here is amazing, the assistant, who help me, got me in the same day, within 45 minutes just because I really wanted my dog to have his vaccines, as he had been behind. She’s a saint…

The one good thing about this company is that it is nationwide and the electronic medical records are easily available online and transfer from location to location. Care is good if you can get it. HOWEVER, it is nearly impossible to schedule an appointment, which is EXTREMELY frustrating if you are paying for the plan. They only do drop offs which is annoying because you can’t stay with your pet or talk with the vet in person AND you have to drive back and forth to the location which is not easy in Brooklyn and wastes time. ALSO the online website for booking times is trash, it is incorrect and you end up falsely sign up for a slot. ALSO every time you call the locations they are busy and put you on a hold, so once again impossible to schedule. BUT if you are lucky enough to get an appointment prepare to wait in a line for 40 minutes to check in when you arrive - even if you scheduled yourself for the 1st slot of the day. My 12 year old cat was sick recently with a URI and I couldn’t get him in for weeks so I brought him to a DIFFERENT vet which immediately took him the day of. I am a medical provider and I am extremely disappointed in this company, patients come first in my line of work and this company does NOT do that. I would never make a patient wait to get care

While the prices are cheap, they match the poor service. For each visit, we’ve had to wait 1-3 hours to be seen. today When we’ve called to ask if our pet was ready to be picked up, I waited on the phone for 30 minutes. I actually took the subway to them while on hold because I didn’t know what was going on with my pet. When I arrived, still on hold, they just said “I’m sorry but you can see there’s a long line.” they clearly just forgot i was even on hold. they didn’t offer me anything except an inauthentic “apology“. we came here for the cheap cost but it’s honestly the most poor customer service I’ve ever experienced. I do not recommend!!!
