Banfield Pet Hospital

I’ve had multiple disappointing experiences with Banfield. Not only do they fail to answer the phone during business hours (over an hour past opening), but it’s also extremely difficult to get timely appointments. On top of that, they often force drop-off appointments, which is incredibly inconvenient and stressful for both me and my dog. Most recently, their lack of responsiveness left me no choice but to take my dog to urgent care (making the optimum wellness plan useless during a very stressful time) Pet owners deserve a vet office that values communication and provides accessible, reliable care. I cannot recommend Banfield based on these repeated issues.

This location is the best in northern VA. I live in Arlington and travel to this location because I know they will take well care of my dogs. Dr. Edwards is fantastic and most importantly, listens. I highly recommend this location and Dr. Edwards.

Yet again, I can't say thank you enough to this wonderful group. My fur baby is getting older & has some health/skin issues & everytime I call they are always there to help. I will forever return again & again. You couldn't ask for a better group to take care of your fur baby.

I have been very patient with this location for the last 2 years and I can no longer hold back. It starts with the constant turnover of front office staff who are NOT trained at all. How can a corporation hire front office people that do NOT know simple vet reception? On top of that they DO NOT check emails. I have to constantly be reaching out to them for test results, prescription approvals, simple vet questions, etc. I also agree with another reviewer who said if you do not request that they provide water to your pet, they will remain in a cage all day until you pick them up. That's insane and inhumane! If I knew all Banfields would operate like this I would have never brought my pets here. Lastly it is true what other reviews say about having to pay for wellness plans after your pets pass away. I experienced this myself last year. This is a horrible policy and corporate greed. I would have rated zero stars if I could but Dr.Edwards is a good vet. Its just annoying how the front staff and him are never on the same page.

Avoid at ALL COSTS. SERIOUSLY. This place only cares about money and does not care about your animal at all. Banfield has always been corrupt but this specific location was somewhat okay for a short time…unfortunately the only doctors that somewhat cared about veterinary practice and showing compassion for animals have all left …and you are left with the worst staff possible. The worst doctors, the worst front office staff, please if you love your pet DO NOT GO HERE. They are not humane and they treat your beloved animals like cash cows. My one SERVICE DOG nearly died of an OVER DOSE by a doctor here prescribing the wrong dosage/ the wrong medication. I cancelled and have never stepped foot in there again. Unfortunately I’ve tried to warn friends and family and each time I hear horror stories from their experiences. Our family friend took their injured dog here today with reluctant and fear after witnessing how awful they are. The way they treated this sweet innocent animal was horrendous. If you love your animal DO NOT GO HERE. The staff will literally hide from you or laugh on the phone…heartless and cruel, they never admit fault or take any responsibility, no remorse. They only want your money. DO NOT GO HERE. No innocent animal deserves the maltreatment that goes on here, I hope this location gets closed and I hope the Banfield corporation fails after all the innocent pet lives they’ve failed for their own profit.
