Jun 26, 2024 · Leeya WoolfsonThe worst pet hospital I have ever been to: 1. Even for regular check ups with appointments they still need you to leave your dog the entire day with them (not a few hours but the entire day). 2. The staff has zero clue about what’s going on with your pup and out of 5 people working, maybe 1 will know how to read test results. 3. They lie to get you to do more tests than needed. 4. They could not even diagnose pretty normal issues and gave me unnecessary food diets for my dog. Probably to sell their expensive prescription diet at the store. 5. Zero empathy even from doctors about the urgency with which to address issues with your dog. I had the worst experience not just with the staff but also with the most inexperienced doctor I’ve ever come across.
Oct 23, 2024 · Maitryi DasWe were fostering a pup and put him on a Wellness Plan to better take care of him. We were never informed that the Wellness Plans are 12 month contracts. A different family ended up adopting the pup, so I called to cancel the plan. Banfield told me I had to pay the remainder of the 12 months on the plan (a few hundred dollars) even though I don’t have the dog anymore, and there’s no way out of it. Apparently this is also true if your pet dies and they’re on a Wellness Plan.
Oct 14, 2024 · Michael MorrisAbsolute worst experience dealing with a veterinarian's office. Banfield puts profit over pets. My daughter chose Banfield for her two dogs because they offered what she thought was an insurance plan, and they were nationwide. The veterinarian refused to test for a specific condition and charged nearly $500 for a simple biopsy. It took two weeks for results that were inconclusive, but the vet said the dog had cancer. I asked what kind of cancer and they couldn't answer. Why did it take two weeks to receive results when the results were available the following day? Did you know that Fetch, a specialty and 24 hour emergency vet, charges far less for a biopsy without a wellness plan? Their office staff and vets are compassionate and knowledgeable. It took more than 24 hours to receive a return call from Banfield. A treatment plan was discussed and I told the vet I would consult with my daughter because he was her dog. I called the following morning for antibiotics and steroids, but the office staff said the vet had a family emergency and left the country. Okay, send the meds to a pharmacy. Nope. The office staff said I had to bring the dog back to the office to be seen. Why? Do you not keep records? I spoke with the vet less than 12 hours prior, but your office flat out refused to fill the prescriptions. The person told me no vet would be comfortable prescribing meds for an animal they hadn't seen. Are your vets that incredibly incompetent that they won't prescribe steroids and antibiotics as discussed by another vet? Or better yet, is your business that cold hearted and greedy that they want to pump their clients for the cost of another visit? Perhaps both? Let me mention how incompetent your front desk staff is when they told me, and my daughter who is a medical professional, steroids and antibiotics were "controlled substances." You may want to educate your workforce that antibiotics and steroids are prescription medications, not "controlled substances". I asked two separate veterinary offices if their vets were authorized to prescribe antibiotics and steroids for animals they had not seen, but the prescriptions were in the pet's records. Both said "yes". You would rather inconvenience a pet owner and pump them for more money despite them having a wellness plan. Shame on you. Shame! Your company puts profits over pet health. According to the wellness plan, my daughter shouldn't have been charged for the biopsy. Despite trying to cancel the wellness plan, your company continues to bill her. For a dead dog. Bravo. You win. Thank you for absolutely nothing. She has been trying to cancel since she returned from deployment, but Banfield refused to let her cancel. Your business practices are predatory.
Jun 14, 2024 · Kim SmithThis place is ridiculous. My appointment was rescheduled and moved to a whole week later, while I had scheduled for in person appointment. My dog was coming in for an ear infection, unknown to me the staff rescheduled it had a a drop off appointment when I specifically told her I did not want to drop off my pet. The front desk was unable to reschedule my appointment to in person, mind you I been waiting over a week for this appointment while my pet has an ear infection. The front desk were very inconsiderate and unsympathetic, acting like I was making an issue when it was THEIR staff who made my appointment incorrect.
