Avon Veterinary Clinic

The visit went well. The doctor was good to my cat. I give them 1 star because of the receptionists. When I was checking out, they confused me because their systems said my insurance was expired. I couldn't find my card to prove otherwise, flustered, I paid and went home. I talked to my parents and they confirmed it wasn't and we found it. Mom calls back and tells them we found the insurance card and asked if we can come back and get a refund. We were told no, and too bad, so sad, next time to have my stuff ready. We were taken aback. This is a fixable mistake, and her rudeness was uncalled for. She hung up on us 7 times. While mom spoke to her, and when we called back, picked up their phone and hung up. Mom goes and asks them who hung up and where their manager was, the same 3 who were there when I left and all didn't know who did that. They told us their manager would be in the next day. The next day, we called to confirm if their manager was there twice. First call at 11, then at 2. We'd get their voicemail. Before, they would answer and put you on hold if their talking to someone in front of them. We go, and the same women are there. Finally, the manager comes and tells us she called us, we told her we didn't receive any calls. She apologized. She took care of the refund, said they could have done it without her, and that the employee who hung up wasn't going to work there after Friday. She updated our insurance info, too. The manager was professional and polite, but the lie of calling us earlier made me not trust her. We're going again today for our other cat.

I absolutely love Avon Veterinary Clinic. We found them about 5 years ago and have been going there ever since. We have had numerous yearly visits, spay and neuters as well as other medical issues having 4 pets. Dr. Mehringer and staff have always been great to us! Their prices are fair and they never pressure you to do more than you’re comfortable with or can afford. A lot of times animal people are not people people but this clinic sets the standard to take care of both pet and owner.

As long as our animals have been fine, they've been fine. But when our cat is sick, it's hard to deal with them. Took him in for a skin issue in July, dr didn't know what was wrong so they gave him a steroid and antibiotic. 2 weeks later, I called because it didn't seem to be getting better. Now, within the last few weeks, his entire body looks worse. I called this morning with my concern asking to be seen but they wouldn't let me make an appt. she sent a message to the back and said they would call me back. They never did. They never called me back either the first time. This was just kind of the final straw different frustrations over the last 10 years. They are super hard to get into also :(

Vet does not listen to concerns and dismisses any need for follow up on care. Recently went to new vet where all of the lack of care and expertise is now being exposed. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET here.
