Dr. Shondrick was cold, unfriendly, insulting, and unprofessional. After our pets surgery we took her home and spent a week of hell trying to take care of her She was crying all through the night and in pain. The decision the vet made to help her actually made everything worse. After a week of trying to comfort and take care of our pet that clearly was in distress we took her to our vet. He did surgery on her and she came home not all stressed out. She was like her old self and happy even though she had surgery again. I would never ever recommend taking an animal to the Wheeling Animal Urgent Care. Unfortunately we had to learn the hard way.

The environment of a veterinary care facility plays a crucial role in the comfort and well-being of your pet. Emergency care centers are typically equipped with the necessary medical equipment and infrastructure to handle critical situations efficiently. This includes examination rooms for initial assessments, surgical suites for immediate procedures, and potentially recovery areas for post-operative monitoring. The core services offered at the Animal Urgent Care Center fall under the broad spectrum of emergency veterinary medicine. This typically includes:

  • Access to essential medical equipment and resources required for urgent care.
  • A triage system to prioritize patients based on the severity of their condition.
  • The ability to stabilize patients and provide initial treatment before potential transfer to a specialty hospital if more advanced care is required.

I cannot say enough positive things about this place and all staff. I appreciate the straight forward approach from the veterinarian and the comforting staff. I had to rush my old dog there due to a seizure. Although he didn't get to come home, I truly appreciate and am so thankful for the honesty and knowledge from all staff involved. I left there knowing I made the decision for my dog's wellbeing and the support from everyone working that evening.

Do NOT waste your time here. Our poor dog was hit by a car and with it being a Sunday all the vets were closed. So we took her there. They took there good ole time getting her back and giving her pain medicine. (We came because it was an EMERGENCY, and we felt we didn’t receive adequate care because “money”) We were charged 500 bucks for meds and told us her leg leg was broken without an X-ray. They practically pushed amputation as the only option. This place is a money mill. Asking us dumb questions “well it’s a lot of money to have her leg fixed, is she a pet? (Insinuating that because she was “just” a pet and not a breeder dog or a show dog that she’s just isn’t worth the time, money or resources. Our pup will make a full recovery but no thanks to this veterinary clinic.

We had a late Saturday night emergency with one of our pups. He was vomiting and in pain, and when he arrived at the Emergency Clinic, they were very compassionate, informative, and knowledgeable. If you need an emergency visit for one of your babies, this is the place to go. The tech and Dr. Shondrick were both wonderful. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! 💕

My daughter’s GSD puppy got stung by a yellow jacket and her eyes were instantly swelling. Within 8 minutes I called them and in that time, after giving Benadryl, her lips then started to swell. They first told me they start seeing appointments at 3, but after I told them what was going on they told me to head that way now…. I knew just as well as they did that it was serious with the fast reaction! Her eyes were almost completely swollen shut in the 20 minute drive it took to get there. They took great care of our Nala girl, and couldn’t be happier with their care to get her the shots administered right when we got there, AND to leave her with her people while they did it!!! Very grateful for their whole team today!!!🫶
