Animal Hospital of Chesterfield

I came into the office without an appointment, and as a new patient!, concerned about an issue with my cat. They took us back right away, and thankfully we were able to be out in under an hour. They were so friendly and very informative in taking care of our little guy. Would recommend this office to anybody looking!

Worst experience at a vet clinic in my life. I have been going here for 5 years even though I live 30 minutes away. The new staff treat their customers horribly. I had an appointment today and I called 5 times trying to tell them I'd be running late. I left several voicemails with my phone number asking them to please call me back because I wanted to make sure i could still get my dog and cat into see the vet even though I was running late. Finally someone answered and they said it was okay so I said okay I'm leaving now, see you soon. When I get there, I was told that they couldn't get me in now because I was late. They said they tried to call me and said we couldn't get ahold of you on the number you had on file. They said they could get me in several days later but they would need a deposit because I've missed too many appointments which is BS. I only missed one appointment with my cat when she was a kitten 2 years ago. I have rescheduled before because I don't drive but there was only one time I missed an appointment without calling- on accident of course.. they never made me pay a deposit after that? But now, I called to make sure it was ok that I was running late, gave them my new number, and when I get there they pull this. It felt like a slap in the face especially after I've been giving them my business for over 5 years. They treat their customers poorly and my poor dog and cat have to go through the whole process of going to the vet again because they lied and said it was okay that I was late. I will be taking my business elsewhere and as a pet care specialist at petsmart and a pet nutritionist for science diet I will be telling all of my clients to never go here.

My Ragdoll cat, Scarlett, and I came from WV to spend the holidays with my family. After being here almost 2 weeks, Scarlett became very ill. I was so worried. My daughter and son-in-law recommended this hospital. Dr. Katie Wilkins and her staff were so kind. Before each test Dr. Wilkins recommended for Scarlett, I was given an itemized review and cost involved. I did not hesitate at all about the tests, procedures and medications or costs. I wanted my kitty to receive whatever Dr. Wilkins felt she needed. She and her staff were so helpful and kind and used no pressure. I agreed, without hesitation, because I believed with all my heart that Scarlett would most certainly died if I had been a day or two longer to take her to this wonderful hospital. It has been 2 days and my sweet Scarlett is progressing nicely!! Scarlett and I are relocating to New Baltimore in a few months. I have such trust and thankfulness for taking her to this hospital!! I would give 10 stars if I could!! Needless to say, I have found a hospital where I know my Scarlett will receive the best care!!!

For my dog lovers, please don’t bring your pet to this hospital. 13 dogs have crossed the rainbow bridge after their visit to this hospital based on the reviews! Took my Alaskan malamute for the first time on 8/10/2024 for annual vaccination as his Vet from “Animal Wellness Clinic of Troy” was not able to see him due to Vet injury that was caused to her 4 days prior the appointment. I arrived on time on 8/10 at 9:00 am and the first red flag was the staff mixed up his record with another dog that has more severe health issues. They gave my dog all the vaccination at once as shown in the attachment because the ignorant doctor “Chelsea Donna” didn’t want to bother by splitting the vaccine in two different visits! I called them two days after, Monday 8/12 and explained to them that my dog has not been eating as usual and his heart rate was not normal, they never called me back of followed up with me. Two days later, Wednesday 8/14 I called them and left a voicemail, 6 hours later I got a phone call from them and they wanted me to pick up a pain killer medication for him, I asked if I can bring him in but they refused, they didn’t even wanted to take a peak! I ended up taking my dog to a different hospital and found out that the vaccination they gave him were not in order and was going to cause my dog his life! This is the only place that ask for deposit over the phone prior visit which is another red flag. Please stop taking your pet there, I was about to lose my best friend Leo. this place is a scam and all they care about the deposit they take over the phone!

We had a great experience with the animal hospital of Chesterfield when our dog broke his toe nail clean off. Wonderful staff and great aftercare instructions!
