I called to schedule an estimate for my sick dog and schedule an appt because I have pet assure (a discount) which I can use at this vet and they very much acted like they did not want to schedule an appt for me. She said that they wouldnt be accepting pet assure after the first of the year. ( In which I thought.. Thats fine, I need an appointment Now...after the first of the year I'll stop paying for pet assure) They told me that they couldnt really give me an estimate bc they didnt know what all would need to be done and said maybe I should just schedule with the other vet but told me the price of what an intial exam and blood panel would be, In which I responded ok, well thats already cheaper than the other estimate I got. She told me that she had openings for Friday but would speak to her manager or whoever to try to get some kind of estimate and call me back. I ended up calling back at the end of the day bc I didnt recieve a call back and my dog is extremly sick only for her to tell me AGAIN that she cant really give me an estimate, and that the Friday slot has been filled, 馃槨 he now wouldn't be able get in until next week & again....maybe I should just schedule with the other vet. The whole reason I signed up for pet assure through my work and have been paying for it is bc I was going to switch from the other vet that was more expensive to go to use my discount at this vet and they clearly did not want that to happen. Not only that, as a vet office you would think that they would care more about my sick dog and getting him in and treated, but they definitely were not concerned about him and were more worried about the measly 25% I would save going to their office for his visit and getting me to go to the other vet. Like geeze, times are hard and I was trying to save a few bucks since Ive been paying for a service, YOU OFFER right now and you dont want to give it to me. I have never experienced being told several times to go somewhere else to take my sick dog unless they were not accepting new patients at the time. So I cant speak from going to this place, but in my experience with what just happened to me, they seem greedy, apathetic, amd callous for a vet office. They wern't concerned with my dog at all, only the savings I would get.

Welcome to Agape Vet Clinic
Welcome to Agape Vet Clinic, a Pet Hospital located at 6323 Hopewell Rd, The Plains, VA 20198, USA. While our name, Agape, suggests a deep and unconditional care for animals, it is important to present a balanced view based on recent customer experiences. We aim to provide comprehensive veterinary services to the community, and feedback from pet owners helps us understand areas where we excel and where improvements may be needed.
Based on the available reviews, the experiences at Agape Vet Clinic appear to be varied. One customer expressed significant dissatisfaction with the appointment scheduling process and the handling of their Pet Assure discount. This individual reported feeling that the clinic was unwilling to schedule an appointment for their sick dog, despite their enrollment in a discount program that the clinic purportedly accepted. The customer cited difficulties in obtaining a clear estimate for services and felt that the clinic staff seemed more concerned about the discount than the urgency of their pet's illness. These concerns raise questions about the clinic's appointment availability, transparency regarding pricing, and their immediate responsiveness to the needs of sick animals, particularly when a discount program is involved.
Conversely, another reviewer shared a remarkably positive experience, particularly highlighting the attitude and care provided by Dr. Grey and her staff. This customer, who travels a significant distance to visit Agape Vet Clinic, praised the team's welcoming demeanor towards their rottweiler, a breed that previous vets had reportedly been fearful of. The reviewer emphasized the genuine care shown by the clinic towards animals, Dr. Grey's knowledge, her willingness to answer questions in detail, and the overall positive impact on their dog's well-being. This positive feedback suggests that Agape Vet Clinic has the potential to provide excellent and compassionate care, particularly in creating a comfortable environment for pets who may have had negative experiences elsewhere.
Given these contrasting experiences, it is challenging to definitively describe the environment and typical service approach of Agape Vet Clinic without further information. However, we can infer that the clinic aims to provide a welcoming atmosphere, at least for some patients, and that Dr. Grey and her staff are capable of delivering knowledgeable and compassionate care. The "baby bear" and "clown face" remarks suggest a friendly and affectionate way of interacting with animals, which can be particularly reassuring for pets who may be anxious or fearful in a veterinary setting. The willingness to spend time answering questions in detail indicates a commitment to client education and involvement in their pet's care.
Based on the general nature of a Pet Hospital and the limited information from the reviews, Agape Vet Clinic likely offers a range of standard veterinary services for companion animals, potentially including:
- Wellness Examinations: Regular check-ups are essential for maintaining your pet's overall health and detecting potential issues early.
- Vaccinations: Protecting your pet against common and preventable diseases.
- Parasite Prevention and Control: Addressing fleas, ticks, heartworms, and other parasites.
- Dental Care: Including cleanings and treatment of dental issues.
- Diagnostic Services: Such as blood work, urinalysis, and potentially imaging (X-rays). The difficulty in obtaining an estimate for these services was a point of concern in one review.
- Sick Pet Care: Diagnosis and treatment of various illnesses. The initial negative review raises concerns about the prioritization of sick animals in scheduling.
- Surgery: Routine and potentially more complex surgical procedures.
- Anesthesia and Pain Management: Ensuring patient comfort and safety during procedures.
- Nutritional Counseling: Guidance on appropriate diets for your pet.
The features of Agape Vet Clinic appear to be centered around the compassionate and welcoming approach of Dr. Grey and her staff, particularly towards animals who may be typically feared or difficult to handle. Their knowledge and willingness to engage with pet owners by answering questions thoroughly are also notable strengths. However, the negative review raises concerns about appointment scheduling policies, transparency regarding costs and estimates, and the handling of discount programs like Pet Assure. It is unclear if the clinic has specific policies regarding these aspects or if the negative experience was an isolated incident.
Currently, there is no promotional information available for Agape Vet Clinic. Local users considering this Pet Hospital may want to inquire directly about their policies on appointment scheduling, the acceptance of discount programs, and their procedures for providing estimates for services, especially for urgent or complex cases. It would also be beneficial to inquire about the specific expertise and approach of the veterinarians on staff, particularly if you have a pet with specific needs or a breed that may require a more specialized handling approach, as highlighted in the positive review regarding the rottweiler.
In conclusion, Agape Vet Clinic in The Plains, VA, appears to be a Pet Hospital with the potential for providing compassionate and knowledgeable care, particularly as highlighted by the positive experience with Dr. Grey and her team's handling of a previously feared dog. However, potential clients should be aware of the concerns raised in another review regarding appointment scheduling, cost transparency, and the acceptance of discount programs. It is recommended that local users contact the clinic directly to discuss their specific needs and to gain a clearer understanding of their current policies and service approach to ensure it aligns with their expectations for their pet's care.

Nov 13, 2024 路 Angela CrawfordLets just say, all previous vets were scared of my rottie, never had a proper physical exam, cause they were too afraid to touch him. We found Dr. Grey and her staff and the first thing we heard when we walked in was "oh, look at that baby bear", "clown face" and so on. No one was scared of him! This place actually cares about animals. We commute 45 mins to go see her. Thanks to her, Negan is back to his happy go lucky self. Super knowledgeable and will answer all the questions in detail. Love this place! Thank you Dr.Grey and staff. We are forever grateful
May 04, 2024 路 Dee KoKoWe recently visited this vet when our farm veterinarian was undergoing surgery. Whilst we love our veterinarian team; this practice is an 'admirable-second'. Knowledgeable, aware of natural behavior in extra-large working-dog breeds, competent, not afraid to examine and engage with large dogs, replete with compassion, kindness and particular respect and flexibility for dogs that do not enjoy going indoors, particularly not inside veterinary offices! NAMASTE! GRATITUDE!
Oct 11, 2024 路 ChinarLandThe best of the best! Dr. Gray & staff have cared for three of my pups and I wouldn't trust any other vet service to care for them. They are compassionate, caring and always puts the pet first. My pups and I wish we could give them more than5 stars! Saying Dr. Gray and staff are best of the best, no other words are needed.
Aug 28, 2024 路 Karen PreussAfter calling many vets, I finally got one that accepted us right away. Bodhi had been vomiting for 24 hours and was getting weaker. Agape was the best vet experience I ever had. They took us at the last minute, and were so kind and helpful and affordable. The treatment was on target, His health is improving.
