Words can’t express how grateful I am to have the people at Acute Care. Everyone here is beyond caring, compassionate, and so kind. I lost my sweet Smokey to cancer at only 8 years old. When I didn’t have the words to say, they knew exactly how to handle everything. Thank you to everyone at Acute Care.

Feb 27, 2025 · Melissa FulwiderWe have been taking our two pups to Acute Care for years and have seen all the docs there over time. They have all been great, except Mark Brucker. We had a truly unpleasant experience that we hope nobody else has to go through and hope this helps you in making the right decision for your pet and family. We had scheduled our pup for a visit for bloodwork, an annual physical & vaccines. We got there 7 minutes late. Michelle at the reception who is always wonderful checked us in and the intake tech got our information and asked us if he has had any issues. Our dog has seizures and is on several medications due to which he has muscle weakness and also has some cracked teeth. He does see specialists at UGA but we figured it pertinent to mention these since they may come up as concerns in the physical exam, we were worried about these issues and didn’t see the problem with mentioning them when asked. 20 minutes later, Brucker stormed into the room angry, started yelling at us from the very first moment. He was rude, stated that we were late and this visit was inappropriate because it was supposed to be an easy annual physical and what are all these random complaints and that he is incapable of dealing with all of this or addressing anything at this visit. All we really were looking for was our pups vaccines, bloodwork done and a referral to dentistry. We were completely taken aback when he started the visit with “let’s keep this short”, immediately proceeded to talk down to us really disrespectfully, screaming at us loudly the entire time, not letting us speak or explain at all, mansplaining how the healthcare system worked and how we needed records before visits and how he didn’t have the time for something complex and on and on. When I pointed out that he cannot speak to us that way like we were imbeciles - they could always just turn us away at the front desk if we were late or just tell us we need to make another appointment for a detailed check up, he yelled “I don’t care. Get out”, then repeatedly yelled “You are done here, get out” and then chased us past the waiting room full of patients to the parking lot screaming at us. Now, I am a physician as well and see several patients every day and I would never ever ever treat a patient or family disrespectfully the way we were treated. I have also never seen a doctor behave in such an undignified, rude, arrogant and unprofessional way in my whole life. We take a noble oath and chasing down patients yelling at them is not usually a part of the oath. Nobody is intentionally late for their appointment, but if they are due to circumstances and you don’t have the time to fit them in, there is a direct polite way to just turn them away or simply reschedule them. The actual shots and bloodwork would have taken a shorter amount of time than what was spent yelling at us followed by the physical chase over to the parking lot. Clearly he was not too busy. Please save yourselves the harassment. We’ve been with Acute Care for years and I would recommend any of the other vets there but if this is the attitude of the owner of the establishment I am anxious about their ability to care for our beloved animals when we leave them there. And honestly it’s not like there aren’t other great clinics in the CSRA. Everybody deserves to be treated with basic courtesy and dignity.
Dec 30, 2024 · Chandni RWe boarded our dog for a weekend away to visit family. Loving staff takes great care of him. He's happy to get there and happy when we pick him up. They have him bathed and dried for pick up.
Oct 30, 2024 · William HoweStaff was very prompt in getting me in for an appointment when my girl was sick. They took the time to listen to me and were very thorough. Their pricing was fair and they were super friendly. Definitely switching to them as my regular vet.
