One pet owner shared their experience bringing in their 8-year-old boxer/pitt mix, who they described as being "a big scardy cat of everything." Despite the dog's anxious nature, the reviewer was highly impressed by the way the staff handled her, noting that they were "so gentle and caring with her." This positive feedback underscores the clinic's sensitivity and ability to work effectively with pets who may be nervous or fearful during veterinary visits. The reviewer concluded by praising the "excellent staff," indicating a positive overall impression of the team at Access Veterinary Care.
Another customer recounted a positive experience when their puppy appeared to be in significant pain. The clinic's attentiveness extended beyond the initial visit, as they "called back to check on him," showcasing a proactive approach to patient care and a genuine concern for the animal's well-being. As a "Pet Hospital," Access Veterinary Care likely offers a range of essential veterinary services to address the diverse health needs of pets in the New Albany area. While the two available reviews focus primarily on the staff's demeanor and the clinic's responsiveness, they imply a foundation of comprehensive veterinary care. Based on the nature of a pet hospital and the positive interactions described, the services likely include:
- General Wellness Exams: Routine check-ups to monitor a pet's overall health, administer vaccinations, and provide preventative care advice. The gentle approach highlighted in one review suggests a comfortable experience for pets during these examinations.
- Treatment of Illnesses and Injuries: Addressing a variety of medical conditions that pets may experience, as indicated by the puppy needing a prompt appointment due to apparent pain.
- Diagnostic Services: To accurately assess and treat medical conditions, a pet hospital typically offers diagnostic tools such as physical examinations, and potentially in-house laboratory testing (blood work, urinalysis, etc.) and imaging (X-rays, if available). The ability to diagnose the puppy's issue and schedule a follow-up suggests some level of diagnostic capabilities.
- Vaccinations: Administering essential vaccines to protect pets from common and potentially life-threatening diseases. This is a fundamental aspect of preventative veterinary care.
- Parasite Prevention and Control: Providing recommendations and medications for preventing and treating fleas, ticks, heartworms, and other parasites.
- Dental Care: Offering dental examinations, cleanings, and potentially extractions to maintain pets' oral health.
- Surgical Services: Depending on the clinic's facilities and the expertise of the veterinarians, surgical procedures, ranging from routine to more complex, may be offered.
- Nutritional Counseling: Providing guidance on appropriate diets and nutritional needs for pets at different life stages and with specific health conditions.
- Prescription Medications: Dispensing necessary medications for treating various conditions.
- Follow-up Care: The proactive follow-up call mentioned in one review indicates a commitment to ensuring the well-being of patients after their initial visit.
The key features of Access Veterinary Care, as evidenced by the customer reviews, include a gentle and caring approach, particularly beneficial for anxious pets; a friendly and attentive staff; prompt appointment scheduling, especially for urgent cases; and proactive follow-up care, demonstrating a genuine concern for patient recovery. The positive experiences suggest a clinic that prioritizes both the physical and emotional well-being of the animals they treat, as well as providing responsive and considerate service to pet owners.
The provided information does not contain any details about specific promotional offers or discounts at Access Veterinary Care. Veterinary clinics sometimes offer incentives such as discounts for new clients, seasonal specials on preventative care services, or bundled service packages. Local pet owners interested in learning about any potential promotions are encouraged to contact the clinic directly or inquire during their visit. However, the positive reviews emphasizing the quality of care and the staff's demeanor suggest that these aspects may be the primary reasons pet owners choose Access Veterinary Care.

Apr 01, 2025 · Kordonis TonyaGreat . My puppy I thought that really hurt and they log me in within an hour they called back to check on him he has another appointment this week we're so excited they seem like such a fantastic place to take your animals
Mar 18, 2025 · Jessica GreenThey were great! I brought them a little stray that I found and wanted to keep. They seemed excited that they had a little kitty in the office and I found that adorable. Very professional, easy to understand, and able to answer my questions. I felt very secure in the knowledge that my pets would be safe here. 10/10 👍✨ To the team: My kitty's name in your system is "Stray Dark Brown Cat" but I thought y'all would like to know that she has a name now and it is Evelyn. 😊
Sep 13, 2024 · Shane HensleyGreat care. Brought my 13 year old, male, Siamese mix and was put at ease by an obviously compassionate staff. They asked questions in order to get a comprehensive understanding of my kitty's history and current health. They commutated everything very clearly, from what I needed to know about my baby's care, to how much everything would cost. They were also human health conscious and picked him up at the door while I waited in the car. We were able to have a video call via Duo so that I could see how he was doing and see the veterinarian who was working with him before they performed the examination and the procedures. I'll be taking my other Kitty tomorrow and I feel very good about it.
Nov 04, 2020 · Emily DeVosThe staff I interacted with, Tiffany- tech, and Doctor (can't remember name) were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. I was concerned about letting my cat go into the building w/o me (due to covid restrictions) because he's usually scared of strangers, but he did well and was taken care of. They went above and beyond with all the info and reccomendations shared, and even plan to call me tomorrow to check in. They're our new vet of choice. :)
