My 4-year-old Cavalier was recently admitted to ACCESS for 24 hours of IV fluids to help pass impacted dirt he had ingested. From the start, the team was excellent—responsive, compassionate, and clearly dedicated to my pup’s care. After reviewing his X-rays more closely, they noticed a potentially dangerous foreign object in addition to the dirt and quickly recommended surgery. Dr. Da Costa Gomez performed the procedure and was amazing throughout—skilled, informative, and genuinely caring. I was even able to visit my dog after surgery, which gave me great peace of mind. I highly recommend ACCESS for any critical veterinary needs. If my dog could talk, I’m sure he’d say he was treated with kindness and love!

Honestly the vets are very nice, and helpful. I took my dog in because she was lethargic. As soon as they got her they took her to the back and gave her fluids and oxygen. They were very fast! Unfortunately they did not diagnose my dog correctly. They recommended emergency surgery for exploration as they thought she had a foreign body obstruction. This was going to cost 10,000 dollars+. After talking about prices, we decided to take our dog somewhere more affordable. The vet told us there’s pet payment programs, and pet financial aid, to help pay. They gave my dog electrolytes that kept her hydrated for 24 hours! That really helped as we found a more affordable vet! The next day we went to another vet, where they ran a stool sample and found out it was actually giardia! I was a bit disappointed in ACCESS SOUTH BAY, as they didn’t think about taking a stool sample,Instead they went straight to x-rays, saw gas, and said it was probably an obstruction, and straight away recommended a 10,000 dollar surgery. I do appreciate the vets for being very kind, and working fast. But I am also a bit discouraged that I spent 1,400 that night for them to not give me the proper diagnosis. My dog is felling a lot better now, and I thank the vets for administering electrolytes that lasted 24 hours, as it made my fur baby feel better.

I haven't had to bring my pets here for any emergency. Although I will be bringing my cat for a specialty soon. I would like to say that they were wonderful when we had to put our baby girl down in an emergency situation. We couldn't wait to do it at home the next day and they were wonderful. They gave us time with our pet. They were compassionate and she went peacefully. They gave us our own room and she was able to just be with us and go to sleep. Thank you for everybody there who is so understanding of how much we loved our pet.

I have had good experiences with Access South Bay with both their ER and specialty vets and found the office staff very helpful. They have given very good care to my dog.

I took my cat in for emergency services, and they did a great job. The vet we saw was Dr. Nicole Raphael--she was kind and compassionate and took the time to explain everything to me and go over multiple options and courses of action as well as explain next steps and follow-ups. Staff was wonderful as well. Naturally, emergency services are expensive, and Access was no exception, but I'm happy with the service provided and the outcome. My cat is home and happy.
