Apr 22, 2025 · BELLA SIRACUSAThank you to AA Animal Clinic! I have a large German Shepherd who was dealing with some discomfort and issues with his anal glands. He is typically very docile but with this kind of issue, I was worried about how he would tolerate. The entire staff - The front desk staff, the technicians and the doctor were wonderful. They were sweet and kind to my Asher and got him feeling better. He was handled with care and respect. Pricing was great. We were in and out within an hour and I was given all of the necessary information and advice to ensure he heals in a timely manner. Compassionate and straight to the point! 10/10! Thanks team! Wish I would have caught everyone's names but everyone was truly amazing.
Apr 18, 2025 · Ihana SmithEach of us, as humans, were born into a family we did not select. Nor, can we pick and choose our siblings, etc. A lover to marry for our lifetime is one decision we can make. Whether the relationship continues with love and respect is always yet to be seen. Two humans can talk and relate to issues together, or sadly part. ONE of the choices in my life, was to pick, choose, select whatever you may want to call it, my pets. Yes, I found a tiny kitten in the road 17 years ago. I'm sure an agency would have welcomed this tiny, ugly kitten whose eyes were not even fully open yet. BUT I chose to care for it. To try to save her life. Not even looking ahead to realize if she lived, how much of a burden it would be to bottle feed, $ for food and to litter train. For 2 weeks this tiny, ugly tortoise colored kitten was jus laying on my bed. Many hours I contributed to her young life. Then on the 15th day, she just "perked up". Staring at me, I thought, "YOU so ugly!" (like a phrase from the movie THE COLOR PURPLE). As days past, I knew she was mine to keep. She had these beautiful eyelashes, which is uncommon with cats, She grew up fast and strong. Couple years later, 2 more male babies joined our lil clan. Casper, Fawna's bestie, and later Hootie. She was the alpha of our domain. She learned to communicate with me to get what she wanted. At the fridge... meant milk. At water bowl... meant ice, please. And she was my vanilla bean ice cream bud. Enjoying watching my gambling apps on phone. Loving music. And if I rang the small wind chime, all 3 knew that meant come to Mimi. She coddled the boys during thunder storms. Chased a neighbors' cat out of our house, she had really big "Kahunas", I would always say. Her long, 17 year life ended last Monday. Cancer, Dr. Sheffield explained her case to me at our first visit a few weeks ago. He never said anything disturbing, like guessing how much time she had. But I listened closely to his diagnosis and suggestions of what we could "try" and his honest expectations. Fawna was still eating, drinking, and being a pain in the ass as normal. Warm my milk, ice my water. Where's my spoon with peanut butter? I spent EVERY moment I could with my baby girl, knowing we were heading to the "🌈". Two weeks went by, it was recheck time at AA animal clinic. Although some of her symptoms seemed to be doing much better, new ones became apparent to Dr. Sheffield. She had signs of liver damage and it was quickly progressing. It DIDN'T take the cost of x-rays to prove symptoms, that would just be throwing $ away. And lab work could give us more knowledge of different symptoms. But it wouldn't be a miracle life saving event. Dr. Sheffield ONLY suggested treatment. I understood there was no cure at this time. "I" asked if we could try any regimen for just 2 weeks to see if her body would respond. Unfortunately, at her age (approx 17 years old), this once ugly but now beautiful, soft, short, thick furred, tortoise cat of mine with the eyelashes, had to go further. This time without her Mimi. Having been treating her myself at home, with the meds from the vet, I was watching for signs of improvement that never showed, LaFawnduh no longer wanted to be held. Only drinking sips of WARM water and not eating, I prayed AA Animal Clinic would be open on Monday's Holiday, and it was. Dr. Sheffield was more than just a few words of, "it's for the best". He examined her. I told him how she was suffering at home. He nodded and said in his own words, that my decision was actually a favor for my poor Fawna. We took actions necessary and LaFawnduh Jane is now at peace. I truly could not see her feeling like that another minute. Dr. Sheffield was kind, soft spoken and we both agreed there was no quality of life. Fawna is out of pain, but her 2 brothers and myself are dealing with our own pain of sadness. Casper, Fawns "bestie", is so depressed that I called them today to discuss an appt to see Dr. Sheffield. And once again, a VERY considerate phone conversation. My best to Dr. Sheffield....
Feb 23, 2025 · Wendy CochranDr. Sheffield is a very knowledgeable and caring vet. We brought our dog, Luna here when she stopped eating and drinking. She was almost 16 yrs old. She had a difficult time walking and I couldn't carry her in due to myself needing back surgery. Cathy, one of Dr Sheffield's assistant saw I needed help and rushed over and scooped upLuna and carried her into a examination room. After a thorough exam, ir was apparent that Luna was at the end of life stage and suffering. Dr Sheffield and staff were caring and very considerate through the process. We lived in the area 30+ years ago and Dr Shefield was our vet them. We recently moved back, and we're happy to see he was still in practice and readily reached out to him in our time of need. The receptionist also displayed a caring attitude was able to give us a same day appointment when I called. Not sure of so e other reviews regarding comments about rude or sarcastic behaviors, but I did not experience at anytime over the years from this practice. I highly recommend Dr Sheffield for your pets needs.
Feb 24, 2025 · chris kulikIf I could give no stars at all, I would. Highly disappointed. I should had read the truthful reviews but I did not. They were the most rude people I have encountered in this industry. They were rude from the moment I made the apt for my 2 dogs and my cat. I ended up making the apt only for my dogs because the recepcionist made me so angry by the way she spoke to me. I continued to make the apt hoping that the doctor would provide me with a better experience, and I could overlook the awful phone customer service. WRONG!!! Everyone was absolutely rude to me, my son and my fur babies. The apt was at 4 pm and I was out by 4:12 pm. It was an express visit. I am not sure if they even liked dogs. The doctor was sarcastic when I asked a question. . And he acted scared of one of my dogs (maybe because my dog is a pitbull) My dog is a sweet baby btw. I learned my lesson. I will just keep looking for a vet office that has caring staff.
