Updated large and small dog parks here. Great new parking lot. Added some rocks as landscaping, so there are things for the dogs to chase around and climb on a little bit. Dinner grassy areas. Mostly fixed fence issues.

Services Offered

As a public dog park managed by the City of Marietta, Wildwood Dog Park primarily offers access to its well-maintained off-leash areas. While it doesn't offer paid, private services like training sessions or boarding, its free access allows for a wide range of activities for local dog owners.

  • Off-Leash Play: The core service is providing a secure, fenced environment where dogs can run, play, and socialize freely without the need for a leash (once inside the designated areas).
  • Separate Areas for Large and Small Dogs: Wildwood Dog Park features distinct fenced sections, one for larger breeds and another for smaller dogs. This separation ensures that dogs of all sizes can play safely and comfortably with appropriate companions, reducing the risk of accidental injury or intimidation.
  • Community Gathering Space: The park serves as a natural meeting point for local dog owners, fostering a sense of community. It’s common to see regulars catching up while their dogs play.
  • Self-Service Waste Stations: While not a formal "service," the park typically provides waste bag dispensers and trash receptacles, encouraging owners to maintain cleanliness and hygiene.
  • General Park Amenities: Beyond the dog park, Wildwood Park itself offers a range of amenities that dog owners can utilize, such as walking and jogging trails (where dogs must be leashed), picnic shelters, and restrooms.

Features / Highlights

  • Updated Facilities: Recent renovations have significantly improved the dog park areas, including updated fencing and improved surfacing, making it a more pleasant and functional space.
  • Mulched Play Areas: A standout feature highlighted by many local users is the generous application of mulch in the play areas. This provides a soft, clean surface that helps keep paws clean and minimizes muddy messes, even after rain. It’s a definite plus for keeping your car and home tidier!
  • Diverse Terrain and Landscaping: Beyond flat grassy areas, the park incorporates elements like rocks for dogs to interact with, providing varied terrain that encourages exploration and natural play behaviors.
  • Ample Grassy Sections: While mulched, there are also good grassy areas for dogs to run and roll, offering a balanced play environment.
  • Secure Fencing: The fencing around both the large and small dog areas is mostly fixed and secure, providing peace of mind for owners that their dogs are safely contained.
  • New Parking Lot: The addition of a new, well-designed parking lot significantly enhances the overall visitor experience, making access straightforward and convenient.
  • Integrated within Wildwood Park: Being part of a larger park means visitors can extend their outing to include walks on the park’s trails (with dogs on-leash) or enjoy other park amenities. Wildwood Park spans 28.11 acres and features a one-mile jogging trail.
  • Portable Restroom Access: While not always a permanent structure, the presence of portable restrooms within Wildwood Park is a practical amenity for visitors.

Great area, clean dog park with great mulch! No muddy paws after my dog was done playing

There are some gaps where the fence is supposed to meet the ground, and there are no water fountains, but other than that, it's a great dog park!

The park is better than nothing, but isn’t the best. There are several gaps in the fence in the small dogs section that are big enough for a dog to go under. If you have a small dog that bolts keep your eyes on them.

Small dog section and an all dog section, double entry gate with a working water fountain. Plenty of trees for shade even in the middle of the day!
