Burger Park Review Address: 680 Glendale Pl, Smyrna, GA 30080 Hours: 8 AM–7:45 PM (dawn to dusk) I recently visited Burger Park in Smyrna, Georgia, with my dog Ellie, and while it may not be the best dog park out there, it's conveniently close to home and Ellie absolutely loves it. Pros: * Convenient Amenities for Dogs: The park offers essential amenities like water stations and poop bags, which are very handy for dog owners. * Separate Areas: There are two separate areas for large and small dogs, ensuring a safer environment for all pups. * Size: It's a fairly large park, giving dogs plenty of space to run and play. * Well-Maintained: The grass is always mowed, and the park is generally well-maintained. Cons: * Flooding Issues: One downside is the park's tendency to flood, especially after rain, turning parts of it into a muddy mess. Ellie loves this, but my car certainly does not! * Lack of Shade: There isn't much in the way of shade, so it can get quite hot, especially during the summer months. * Mixed Experiences: While most dog owners are responsible and friendly, we've had mixed experiences with other park-goers. Occasionally, we encounter unfriendly or older, grumpy dogs. * No Human Amenities: It's important to note that this park is strictly for dogs. There are no amenities for humans—no bathrooms, no water fountains, and no seating areas. It's purely a place for dogs to run and play. Overall Experience: Burger Park checks off the basics for a dog park. It's a pleasant enough place for a quick visit, with adequate amenities and a decent size for dogs to enjoy. The separate areas for big and small dogs are a plus, and it's well-maintained overall. However, the flooding issues and lack of shade can be a bit of a drawback. Despite these, Ellie always has a blast, which makes it worthwhile for us. Rating: 4/5 In conclusion, while there are definitely better parks out there, Burger Park is a convenient and enjoyable spot for Ellie and me. It's a decent option if you're in the Smyrna area and looking for a local dog park. Just be prepared for the lack of human amenities and bring everything you need for your visit.

Welcome to Burger Park
For dog owners in Smyrna, Georgia, finding a reliable and enjoyable outdoor space where their canine companions can freely run, play, and socialize is a key part of responsible pet ownership. Burger Park Dog Park, located at 680 Glendale Place, stands as a convenient and well-regarded option for locals. While it might not boast extensive human amenities, it focuses squarely on providing a dedicated and appropriate environment for dogs, making it a beloved spot for many in the Smyrna community.
As a municipal park facility, Burger Park Dog Park is designed specifically for off-leash canine recreation. It offers essential features that contribute to a safer and more enjoyable experience for both pups and their human escorts. Visitors appreciate its commitment to basics: providing ample space, maintaining a clean environment, and offering the necessary provisions for dog owners. Despite some common challenges found in many outdoor dog parks, its accessibility and core offerings make it a consistently popular choice for residents of Smyrna and nearby areas looking for a local spot where their dogs can truly let loose and thrive. It’s a testament to the city’s dedication to providing recreational outlets for all its residents, including its furry citizens.
Burger Park Dog Park is conveniently located at 680 Glendale Pl, Smyrna, GA 30080, USA. This address places it squarely within the city of Smyrna, making it easily accessible for a wide range of local residents. Smyrna is a bustling city in Cobb County, just northwest of Atlanta, and Burger Park serves as a valuable green space for its growing population.
The park's location off Glendale Place positions it within a residential area, giving it a neighborhood park feel that’s easy for locals to reach. A significant advantage highlighted by reviews is the "conveniently close to home" factor for many Smyrna residents. When it comes to accessibility for vehicles, the park offers "plenty of free parking next door," simplifying the process of bringing your dog to and from the park. This ample and free parking is a considerable benefit in an urbanized area. For those relying on public transportation, various CobbLinc bus routes serve the Smyrna area, and while direct routes to the park would need to be verified, the overall walkability of the surrounding neighborhoods may also make it accessible on foot for some residents. The straightforward address and available parking contribute significantly to its suitability as a regular spot for local dog owners. The park operates from "8 AM–7:45 PM (dawn to dusk)," providing broad hours for visits throughout the day.
Burger Park Dog Park is focused on providing the core services necessary for a safe and enjoyable off-leash dog experience. While it emphasizes canine amenities over human comforts, its offerings are highly practical for dog owners:
- Separate Areas for Large and Small Dogs: A crucial and highly valued service, the park is divided into two distinct, fenced enclosures: one specifically for small dogs (typically under 30 lbs) and another for large dogs (30 lbs and over). This separation ensures a safer and more comfortable environment for all pups, allowing them to play with companions of similar size and energy levels.
- Off-Leash Play: Within both designated sections, dogs are permitted to run, play, and socialize freely without the constraint of a leash. This is essential for their physical exercise and mental stimulation.
- Water Stations for Dogs: The park provides "water stations" or "dog-friendly water fountains" within each enclosure, ensuring that dogs have access to fresh water for hydration during their playtime, especially important during warmer months. These are noted to be "seasonally-available."
- Poop Bags / Dog Waste Stations: Essential for maintaining cleanliness, the park offers "poop bags" and "lots of dog waste stations." This amenity encourages responsible pet ownership and helps keep the park tidy for all users.
- Spacious Play Areas: Described as a "fairly large park" with "plenty of space to run and play," the dog park ensures that even in its divided sections, dogs have ample room for energetic activities. The park is 3.7 acres in total.
- Well-Maintained Grass: Reviews consistently note that "the grass is always mowed, and the park is generally well-maintained," contributing to a pleasant and visually appealing environment.
It is important for visitors to note that the park is "strictly for dogs," meaning it lacks amenities for humans such as restrooms or traditional water fountains for people.
Burger Park Dog Park, despite its straightforward design, boasts several key features and highlights that make it a local favorite in Smyrna, along with a few considerations for visitors:
- Dedicated Large and Small Dog Sections: This is a consistent highlight, ensuring that dogs of all sizes have a safe and appropriate environment for off-leash play. This separation is crucial for reducing incidents and allowing dogs to thrive in suitable peer groups.
- Ample Space for Play: Described as a "fairly large park," it provides dogs with "plenty of space to run and play," which is essential for energetic pups to get adequate exercise.
- Essential Dog Amenities: The provision of "water stations" (or "dog-friendly water fountain available inside each enclosure") and "poop bags" / "dog waste stations" are highly practical highlights, making visits convenient for owners.
- Consistent Maintenance: Reviewers frequently praise the park for being "well-maintained" and having "the grass always mowed." This attention to upkeep contributes to a pleasant and inviting atmosphere.
- Clean and Calm Atmosphere: The park is often described as "clean and calm," with many users reporting "always had a good experience," suggesting a generally respectful and friendly user base.
However, visitors should also be aware of a few noted caveats:
- Flooding Issues: A significant downside is the park's "tendency to flood, especially after rain, turning parts of it into a muddy mess." Owners should be prepared for muddy paws and potential car mess if visiting after inclement weather.
- Lack of Shade: "There isn't much in the way of shade," which means it "can get quite hot, especially during the summer months." Sunscreen for humans and extra water for dogs are highly recommended on sunny days.
- Minimal Human Amenities: As highlighted, "this park is strictly for dogs." There are "no bathrooms, no water fountains , and no seating areas" (beyond "one bench per park"). It is advisable to "bring a folding chair if you plan to hang out for a bit" and be prepared for no human restrooms.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the park's core offerings for canine recreation generally earn it a positive rating from locals.
As a public dog park operated by the City of Smyrna Department of Parks and Recreation, Burger Park Dog Park does not typically offer commercial "promotions" or "special offers" in the traditional sense, such as discounts on entry fees (since access is free to the public) or loyalty programs. Its primary "offer" to the community is the provision of a free and dedicated off-leash space for dogs.
However, the value and "promotional" aspect for locals come from the consistent availability of a well-maintained community asset:
- Free Public Access: The most significant benefit is that the park is entirely free to use for all residents and visitors. This makes quality outdoor recreation and socialization opportunities readily accessible to all dog owners without any financial barrier.
- Community Events: While Burger Park Dog Park itself is focused solely on canine enclosures, the City of Smyrna Parks and Recreation Department occasionally hosts various community events within its broader park system. These events might be dog-friendly or offer opportunities for pet owners to engage with the local community, indirectly promoting the city's pet-friendly infrastructure. Locals are encouraged to check the City of Smyrna's official website or Parks and Recreation social media channels for announcements about such events.
- Basic Amenities Provided: The consistent provision of essential dog amenities like water stations and waste bags is a continuous "offer" of convenience, saving owners from having to remember these items for every visit.
Since Burger Park is a public facility, its "promotions" are centered around its consistent availability as a free, essential service for the city's dog-owning population, rather than fluctuating commercial deals. The primary promotion is simply that it exists and is well-maintained for public use.

Its sustained popularity among residents highlights its effectiveness in meeting a crucial demand for safe, accessible off-leash recreation for dogs in the area.
Firstly, its prime location within Smyrna makes it incredibly convenient for local dog owners. The short travel time and "plenty of free parking" are significant advantages, encouraging frequent visits and ensuring that dogs receive consistent opportunities for exercise and socialization. For many, having a well-maintained dog park "conveniently close to home" is a paramount factor in its appeal.
Secondly, the park's core features are designed with canine well-being in mind. Jul 04, 2024 · Joao Paulo Castroclean and calm dog park, I’ve always had a good experience! There’s lots of dog waste stations and separate areas for large and small dogs. It’s always pretty well maintained, the only flaw is the lack of seating, there’s one bench per park so I would recommend bringing a folding chair if you plan to hang out for a bit!

Dec 07, 2024 · Derrick Ash Jr.Pleasant enough. This is a fairly large dog park with two separate areas for big and small dogs. They have a nice water station. There is limited seating but who sits at a dog park, am I right? We’ve had mixed experiences with park-goers; we’ve encountered a few unfriendly dogs and several old, grumpy dogs. Your results may vary.
