Update. 11/4/23 Have a new picnic table, parks department painted everything, removed the old storage keeper and replaced with a new one. They fixed the fence so little dogs can't escape. Thank you parks department!! ★★★★★ Update. Still go to this park majority of the time. Someone swept under the shelter and the pathways. Whoever you are THANK YOU. It looks great! ********************************* Started going through this dog park almost a year ago. Absolutely love going here and the people that come here are usually very friendly. There is a dedicated water fountain source and plenty of dog bowls, it's fenced, there are two entrances, three picnic tables and plenty of tennis balls. The ground is made up of pea gravel so it really doesn't get muddy when snow thaws or it rains. I put paw treatments on my dog's paws anyway to help with cracking or from snow melt stuff on sidewalks. Most dogs walk around and play with others, a few will get their zoomies on, some just like to watch other dogs. Most owners do pick up after their dogs unlike Shirlington DP but then Utah is a smaller more manageable size compared to Shirlington. You're always within sight of your dog at Utah. If you come here enough you will start to feel like part of a little dog park family here at Utah and so will your dog 🐕‍🦺😊.

  • Water Fountain Source: Keeping your dog hydrated is essential, especially after an energetic play session. The park offers a dedicated water fountain, ensuring fresh water is always available for thirsty pups.

  • Plenty of Dog Bowls: In addition to the fountain, numerous dog bowls are typically available, making it easy for multiple dogs to drink comfortably.

Recent updates include painting, replacement of storage keepers, and fence repairs to prevent smaller dogs from escaping, demonstrating a commitment to safety and cleanliness.

  • Sheltered Area: The presence of a shelter provides a welcome respite from sun or light rain, offering a comfortable spot for owners to relax while their dogs play.

  • Community Sweeping Efforts: Dedicated individuals within the park community often take the initiative to sweep under the shelter and pathways, contributing to the park's overall tidiness and pleasant atmosphere.

Features / Highlights
  • Pea Gravel Ground Surface: A significant highlight of Utah Dog Park is its pea gravel ground cover. This unique feature is a major advantage, as it effectively prevents the park from becoming muddy, even after rain or snowmelt. This means cleaner paws and a more enjoyable experience for both dogs and owners, reducing the need for extensive cleaning post-play. While it can get a bit dusty, many owners find this a small trade-off for the lack of mud, and some apply paw treatments for added comfort.

  • Multiple Picnic Tables: With three picnic tables available, owners have ample seating options to relax, observe their dogs, and socialize with other community members.

  • Abundance of Tennis Balls: The park often has plenty of tennis balls readily available, encouraging play and interaction among the dogs.

  • Friendly Community Atmosphere: Many regular visitors describe the park as having a "little dog park family" feel. Owners are generally friendly and responsible, fostering a welcoming environment for newcomers and regulars alike. This community aspect is a major draw for many.

  • Excellent Owner Responsibility: Unlike some other dog parks, Utah Dog Park sees a high rate of owners picking up after their dogs, contributing significantly to its cleanliness and pleasant environment.

  • Ideal for Puppies: The park's size and features make it an excellent choice for puppies experiencing their first dog park visits, offering a safe and manageable space for them to learn social skills.

Promotions or Special Offers

As a public park, Utah Dog Park typically does not offer specific promotions or special offers in the traditional sense. Its value lies in its free access and excellent amenities provided by the local parks department and the contributing community. The continuous improvements and dedicated upkeep, often highlighted by satisfied visitors, serve as the park's ongoing "special offer" – a consistently well-maintained and enjoyable space for your dog. Puppies 1st dog park. Nice size for puppies. Gravel so it gets dusty and you better plan to bathe your pups once done.

Good sight lines and overhead cover. Gravel is a hard on the paws. Just large enough for large dogs to get a good run in. Water is available for dogs. It's a clean, well kept park.

Porta potty, and covered picnic benches, and plenty of poo bags. It's not too busy, and perfect for your more nervous dogs.

Dog park is a good size, and easy to keep and eye on your dog. It has a gravel floor and is a bit sandy so whenever we take our pup, we always need to give her a bath after. There is a good amount of room for the dogs to run around and usually there are always others for them to play with.
