This is really cool dog park. It used to be a golf course. (It’s just down the street from the twining valley park). This was my first time here, I was volunteering with an animal rescue organization (Harmony Retreat and Animal Rescue) and I never knew that this place existed! They have a fenced area where (friendly) dogs can play with other dogs, they have trails (old golf course roads) that you can walk with your dog (on leash of course). I can’t wait to go back!!❤️

Welcome to Twining Valley Dog Park
Hello, Pennsylvania dog lovers! Are you seeking an exceptional and expansive space in Dresher where your canine companion can truly stretch their legs, socialize, and explore? Look no further than **Twining Valley Dog Park**, a remarkable local gem that offers a unique experience for pups and their owners. This article is your comprehensive guide to what makes this dog park a standout destination in our community, highlighting its distinctive features, accessibility, and why it's a must-visit for your furry friend.
What sets Twining Valley Dog Park apart is its fascinating past: it "used to be a golf course." This history translates into a surprisingly spacious and varied landscape, offering more than just a flat, open field. As one enthusiastic volunteer from Harmony Retreat and Animal Rescue discovered, "I never knew that this place existed! They have a fenced area where (friendly) dogs can play with other dogs, they have trails (old golf course roads) that you can walk with your dog (on leash of course)." This blend of dedicated off-leash areas and scenic leashed trails provides a diverse environment for all types of dog activities, making every visit a fresh adventure.
The park's commitment to safety and inclusivity is evident in its thoughtful design. It uniquely caters to dogs of various sizes by offering "a small, medium, and large dog area to ensure that all dogs are safe." This prevents smaller or shyer dogs from feeling overwhelmed by larger, more boisterous playmates, creating a more harmonious environment for everyone. While the large dog area might experience some "muddy due to no grass" spots, this is often a small trade-off for the sheer space and freedom it provides. The recent addition of a "new parking lot so lines are fresh!" further enhances the user experience, demonstrating ongoing improvements to this cherished community asset.
For those in Montgomery County looking for a truly enriching dog park experience that goes beyond the ordinary, Twining Valley Dog Park offers an unparalleled opportunity for exercise, socialization, and exploration amidst a unique natural setting. It’s a place where the love for dogs and the beauty of the outdoors converge, creating a favorite spot for many local pet parents.

Twining Valley Dog Park is located at **1487 Twining Road, Dresher, PA 19025, USA**. It's nestled within the larger Twining Valley Park, which spans 1400/1487 Twining Road. This placement in Dresher makes it highly accessible for residents of Upper Dublin Township and surrounding communities throughout Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
Accessing the park is straightforward. There is a "new parking lot right beside the 3 areas," which is a significant improvement, making it much more convenient than the "long walk before!" from previous parking options. This dedicated parking ensures that you can easily and quickly get your pup into the off-leash areas. The park is part of the Upper Dublin Township park system and benefits from clear signage and well-maintained access roads. Its hours are generally extensive, providing ample opportunity for visits: it is a fully fenced, off-leash area that appears to be accessible during daylight hours, though it's part of a larger park that may have specific opening and closing times. Some general park information suggests park hours can be from dawn to dusk. It's important to note that restrooms may have limited hours (e.g., 9 AM to 3 PM on weekends), but a port-a-pot is available 24/7. Visitors can also enjoy "dog-friendly trails" (old golf course roads) within the broader Twining Valley Park, where dogs must be on leash. This combination of dedicated dog park space and natural trails makes for a versatile outing. The park also features a double-gated entrance and is wheelchair accessible, ensuring broad inclusivity for all pet parents.

As a public facility managed by the Upper Dublin Township Parks & Recreation Department, Twining Valley Dog Park does not typically offer commercial promotions, discounts, or loyalty programs. Its primary "special offer" is the consistent provision of a free-to-use, well-maintained, and comprehensively designed environment for off-leash dog exercise.
However, it's important to note that while the park is free for Upper Dublin residents, **non-residents are required to purchase a yearly membership for $50.00**. This membership provides access via a key fob. This resident/non-resident fee structure is a common practice for municipal amenities.
Any community-based events, such as park clean-up days, dog-friendly gatherings, or educational sessions, would generally be organized by the Upper Dublin Township Parks & Recreation Department or local community groups. Information about such events, as well as details on membership registration, would be communicated through the official Upper Dublin Township website (upperdublinrec.net) and their social media channels. The investment in new parking and continuous maintenance serves as an ongoing "promotion" for residents and members, showcasing the township's commitment to this valuable resource.

Twining Valley Dog Park is an exceptionally suitable and highly recommended destination for dog owners across Pennsylvania, particularly for those in Dresher, Upper Dublin Township, and the broader Montgomery County area. Its unique origin as a former golf course provides a **spacious and varied landscape** that goes beyond the typical dog park, offering not just fenced play areas but also scenic trails for leashed walks, enhancing the overall outdoor experience for both dogs and owners. This versatility is a major draw for locals seeking diverse recreational opportunities for their pets.
A key factor in its suitability is the **thoughtful separation of play areas by dog size (small, medium, and large)**. This crucial design element ensures a safer and more comfortable environment for all dogs, allowing them to play with appropriate companions and significantly reducing the risk of conflict. This commitment to safety and inclusivity is highly valued by responsible pet owners. Furthermore, practical amenities such as **abundant natural shade, benches for relaxation, and the convenient provision of poop bags** contribute to a pleasant and hassle-free visit. The recent addition of a dedicated, easily accessible parking lot further enhances convenience, making it simpler for locals to enjoy the park regularly.

For residents in the Pennsylvania region looking for a top-tier dog park that prioritizes safety, offers diverse activity options, and is well-equipped for both dogs and their human companions, Twining Valley Dog Park is an invaluable local asset, enriching the lives of pets and their devoted owners alike.

Oct 22, 2024 · Sabrina TarloOur dog loves running off his energy here! The weight limits are reasonable- they have a small, medium, and large dog area to ensure that all dogs are safe. They just got a new parking lot so lines are fresh! I’d say the only improvement I’d give it is the large dog area needs some more grass. There are some areas that are muddy due to no grass! Other than that we LOVE it!
Mar 06, 2023 · Brenna O'Boyle(UPDATE) Key fob access is still not happening. Why did I provide all this documentation and pay a fee? So other people can bring unvaccinated dogs here and not worry about my dog? It has been months now. Yes, months. When will the key fobs be working? I thought I signed up for a membership-verified dog park, and pretty much anyone can show up without being verified as having a vaccinated dog and knowing the rules here. We haven't had a problem with any dogs there (yet), but a membersip-required dog park is a safety thing, and it isn't being enforced in any way. Except for suckers like me who follow rules.
Jul 20, 2024 · Christine SeelWas a great park, the people and dogs were friendly, and they have 3 separate areas for different size dogs. There are some trees for shade and some benches. Just bring your own water!
Jan 28, 2024 · AnnA big white dog named Cooper attacked my golden retriever puppy for no reason and then several other dogs piled on. All the owners know one another, but we had never met them. No one apologized, left with their dogs per park rules, or even leashed them. We left and won’t be back.
