As a public facility managed by the City of Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department, Stransky Dog Run at Peterson Park does not typically offer commercial "promotions" or "special offers" in the same vein as a private business. Its primary "promotion" is its status as a free, publicly accessible amenity for the benefit of local dog owners and their pets.
The value to the community comes from the consistent availability of a well-maintained, equipped, and safe environment for off-leash dog exercise and socialization without any direct cost to the user. This is a significant ongoing benefit, reducing the need for private dog park memberships or extensive travel to find suitable spaces.
However, local non-profit organizations, such as Friends of the Dog Parks, Inc., occasionally work in conjunction with the city to support and enhance Lincoln's dog parks. These groups might host community events, fundraisers, or volunteer days at parks like Stransky Dog Run. Such events, while not "promotions" from the park itself, offer added value and opportunities for community engagement. For example, a "Dog Wash Day" could be organized, leveraging the park's washing station for a charitable cause, or a "Meet & Greet" could foster community spirit.
Local users interested in supporting or participating in such initiatives, or looking for information on any specific events, should refer to the official City of Lincoln Parks and Recreation website or the website/social media channels of local dog park advocacy groups for announcements. The inherent "special offer" of Stransky Dog Run remains its robust, free access to quality canine recreation.

We love Stransky Dog Park! Great times, beautiful dogs, beautiful people.
Mar 25, 2025 · Tim HendricksonThis is the closest dog park to us (build one farther south please). It's one of the recently renovated parks with a washing station and drinking fountain for dogs (and humans). There are lots of benches to sit on for both the small dog and normal/big dog parks. The park has a problem with mud. There is not enough grass plain and simple. The sidewalks get slick with mud so wear decent shoes. If they add a hose to the washing station once it's thawed, I think it would get used more. Maybe they will plant another tree in place of the one they cut down.
Mar 14, 2024 · Christopher CumminsSerendipity!! Stopped at the diner across the tracks for a noon time bite and spotted a lush and empty oasis -- for dogs!!! Half an hour and one exhausted dog later I got my food. Clean, green and we'll kept for big or small dogs. Solid fences and clean up bags in case you forgot yours. From the PNW to here, not one off leash to comment on. You would do well to go out of your way to come here for your best friends!
