Welcome to Stony Creek Dog Park

For dog owners across Michigan, finding the perfect spot for their furry companions to run, play, and socialize is a top priority. Look no further than Stony Creek Dog Park, a highly-regarded off-leash dog park nestled within the beautiful Stony Creek Metropark. This expansive and well-maintained facility offers a safe and engaging environment for dogs to burn off energy and for owners to connect with fellow dog lovers.

Located in Washington, MI, Stony Creek Dog Park is more than just a fenced-in area; it's a vibrant community hub where dogs thrive and their human companions enjoy a welcoming atmosphere. The park is renowned for its generous size, thoughtful amenities, and the consistently positive experiences reported by its visitors. Whether your dog is a high-energy retriever or a timid terrier, Stony Creek Dog Park provides a suitable space for all.

One of the most significant advantages of Stony Creek Dog Park is its seamless integration into the larger Stony Creek Metropark. While the dog park itself is a dedicated off-leash zone, the surrounding Metropark offers additional dog-friendly trails (where leashes are required) for those who enjoy a longer stroll with their canine companions. This dual offering makes Stony Creek an ideal destination for a full day of outdoor adventure with your pet.

Location and Accessibility

Stony Creek Dog Park is conveniently located at PWJP+62, Washington, MI 48094, USA, within the expansive Stony Creek Metropark. This location makes it easily accessible for residents across Macomb and Oakland counties, and even for those traveling from further afield in Southeast Michigan. The park's entrance can be accessed from the asphalt path in the Oakgrove Picnic Area, ensuring a clear and direct route for visitors.

Accessibility is a key consideration at Stony Creek Dog Park. The design incorporates features to accommodate all visitors, including a handicapped-accessible unisex portable toilet, accessible aggregate surfaces in high-traffic areas and on paths extending into the off-leash sections, and designated accessible parking spaces in the lot. This commitment to accessibility ensures that dog owners with varying mobility needs can comfortably enjoy the park with their pets.

It is important to note that a Metroparks vehicle pass is required for entry into Stony Creek Metropark. These passes can be purchased daily or annually and provide access to all Huron-Clinton Metroparks, making an annual pass a cost-effective option for frequent visitors. The clear signage and well-maintained pathways within the Metropark guide visitors directly to the dog park, ensuring a smooth arrival.

Services Offered

Stony Creek Dog Park focuses on providing a core set of services designed to enhance the experience for both dogs and their owners.

  • Water Bottle/Bowl Filling Station: Hydration is crucial, and the park provides a convenient station for refilling water bottles and dog bowls, ensuring pets stay refreshed during their visit.
  • Dog Waste Stations: To maintain cleanliness and hygiene, dog waste stations equipped with bags are available throughout the park, encouraging responsible pet ownership.

A very nice place to meet and greet with your fur baby. Pet owners are respectful and keep their dogs under control and pick up after them. Park is divided in two. Small dogs under 25 and all dogs.

Maps and the general information didn't list an entrance fee into the park. We drove over here on a Sunday. It's still snowy and there's really nothing going on. There's an entrance fee to drive into the park. I think it was 10.00. We passed on paying just to drive through. Not sure if the dog park was even open.

Spacious and well maintained. No parkour / toys for dogs but lots of place to run around and usually many balls on the ground to play with. Enough benches to sit, also some of them situated under a roof to catch some shadow on a sunny day. Our dogs love it!
