This dog park is decent in size. It's just a giant fenced in square. Not many trees or activities (planks to walk ect.) Just one very small tunnel to go through. It's absolutely way better than nothing that's for sure. Took my dog there today and it's fun to see her play with dog friends. Water was not on yet so bring your own for now (April 6th).

The park's setting on Rum River Blvd NW suggests a connection to the natural beauty of the area, though the park itself is primarily an open, fenced space. While specific parking details aren't extensively detailed in public reviews, the nature of a community park typically includes adequate parking provisions to accommodate visitors. Its presence within St Francis indicates that it is a well-integrated part of the local public amenities, maintained by the city for the benefit of its residents and their pets. The straightforward layout and direct access make it a hassle-free destination for dog owners looking for a simple and effective off-leash experience.
ST FRANCIS DOG PARK provides essential services and amenities that contribute to a convenient and pleasant experience for dog owners and their pets. While not overly elaborate, these provisions ensure the fundamental needs of a dog park are met:
- Running Water Source: While sometimes seasonal (as noted by a review in early April where water was not yet on), the park is equipped with a water source. This is vital for keeping dogs hydrated, especially after active play. Visitors are advised to bring their own water and bowls, particularly during the early spring or late fall when the water might not yet be turned on due to freezing temperatures.
- Waste Disposal: Although not explicitly detailed regarding doggie bags, a well-maintained public dog park typically provides or encourages the use of waste bags and has designated trash receptacles. Users are always encouraged to be prepared for waste clean-up to keep the park tidy.
- Benches and Seating: The park includes benches, offering convenient spots for owners to sit, relax, and observe their dogs playing. This is a simple but appreciated amenity for human comfort.
ST FRANCIS DOG PARK, while characterized by its simplicity, offers several key features and highlights that make it a valued spot for local dog owners:
- Decent Size Fenced Enclosure: The park is described as "decent in size" and "just a giant fenced in square." This fully fenced, off-leash area provides a secure environment for dogs to run and play freely without concerns about them wandering off.
- Open Grassy Space: The park predominantly features a large, open grassy area. This is ideal for dogs who love to sprint, chase balls, or simply enjoy ample room to roam and play with other dogs.
- Trees and Grass: Despite some comments about not having "many trees or activities," reviews also mention "Trees, grass, and benches." This indicates some natural elements that provide a pleasant environment and potentially some shaded spots for relief on sunny days.
- Small Tunnel Feature: For a touch of mild enrichment, the park includes "one very small tunnel to go through." While not an extensive agility course, it provides a fun, simple activity for dogs to engage with.
- Friendly Dog Atmosphere: A significant highlight is the presence of "lots of the dogs are so nice and sweet." This suggests a generally positive and welcoming environment for canine socialization, encouraging owners to bring their dogs for friendly interactions.
- Provides Essential Off-Leash Space: Fundamentally, the park fulfills the crucial need for a dedicated, safe off-leash area, which is "absolutely way better than nothing" for local dog owners. It offers a vital outlet for dogs to get necessary exercise and social interaction.
Based on currently available public information, there are no specific promotions or special offers directly associated with ST FRANCIS DOG PARK. As a public municipal park, its primary benefit is providing a free, accessible, and well-maintained off-leash area for the community. Dog parks are generally offered as a public service, focusing on consistent availability rather than commercial promotions.
Any community events, such as pet-related gatherings or seasonal activities that might take place at the park, would typically be organized by the City of St Francis Parks and Recreation department. For information on such potential events, it would be advisable for interested individuals to check the official website of the City of St Francis or their local community announcements. The park’s value lies in its consistent provision of a safe and open space for daily dog exercise and socialization.

Apr 07, 2025 · Chris M. AndersonIt is a really nice park. Trees, grass, and benches. Lots of the dogs are so nice and sweet. Although, some people bring some unfriendly dogs. Always check how the dogs act! Not sure why people bring unfriendly dogs, it's just wrong.
