Welcome to Rocky Memorial Dog Park

For dog owners across Northern California, particularly those in Sonoma County, finding a truly expansive and welcoming space for their canine companions to stretch their legs and socialize is a cherished find. Rocky Memorial Dog Park in Petaluma stands out as a prime example of such a place, offering a vast, open area where dogs can enjoy the freedom of off-leash play. Named for a beloved local police dog, this park embodies the spirit of dedication to our four-legged friends, providing a much-needed outlet for their energy and a gathering spot for the community.

Rocky Memorial Dog Park is renowned for its generous size, allowing ample room for dogs of all sizes to run, chase balls, and engage in vigorous play. It’s a place where you'll often see dogs beaming with joy, tails wagging furiously as they interact with fellow canines and enjoy the wide-open spaces.

While often described as a "no-frills" park, its greatest asset is undoubtedly the extensive open area. This focus on providing space prioritizes natural play over artificial structures, appealing to owners who want their dogs to experience unrestrained freedom. It’s a testament to Petaluma's commitment to creating public spaces that cater to the needs of its diverse residents, including its many beloved pets.

The park is large, nice and open. I used to take my dog there every day and spent an hour and a half, met many people from different cities. They said it was the best park! Until the city decided to bring like a 100 sheep to “cut” the grass. Now it’s nothing but sheep shit. It’s gross! Great job city of Petaluma!

I love that there are no gates because they can sometimes make the doggos aggressive. This park has a huge play area, nice to walk around. No poop bags so bring your own although some locals leave extra which is nice. Also some people bring tennis balls- thank you dog toy 🧚‍♀️
